    1. Invest in luxury bag/belts (or good quality dupes)
    2. Wear a structured bag
    3. Match hardware color
    4. Wear simple jewelry
    5. Don't wear too many logos
    6. Don't wear distressed clothing
    7. Don't show too much skin
    8. Wear a coat or a blazer
    9. Wear neutral shoes
    10. Stay away from exposed zippers
    11. Invest in neutral pieces
    12. Don't wear baggy or tight clothing

    Don’t wear more than two colors and at least one should be a neutral. To make an expensive look, try a black blazer, black jeans, black boots with a blush pink tshirt. Then add a blush pink top handle bag. Suddenly glamorous. For an even more glamorous look, do two neutrals like black and camel. Just remember to match the purse to the top but not the shoes.

    I buy high end clothing and bags previously loved. I’m finally doing a time capsule wardrobe now that I’m in my late 40’s😂....it was time that I step away from cheaply made high street items and invest in quality. Although I don’t have a large budget, looking polished is easy if you buy gently used. And you’re saving the environment in the process. ❤️

      I do the same with handbags & designer belts. Once I discovered Fashionphile I stopped buying new. The selection is so much better than the stores & I save a fortune on bags that look almost brans new.

    I disagree on the jewelry quantity. I think it’s fine to wear earrings, a necklace and something on your wrist.

    • @MommiesMakeupAndMoscato
      @MommiesMakeupAndMoscato  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's definitely just a preference. We've seen many women do it and make it work but for us we prefer earrings or a necklace unless they are studs.

    Distressed jeans, jkts, are very casual, relaxed. For chilled days, hanging out. Not for when you want to look expensive and chic. I love bags that don’t have logos screaming at you, that blend in with the leather and color of the bag. Exposed zippers look cheap on pants , skirts and dresses( learned this in high school). My mother was a classic chic, dresser and taught her daughters well.

    I'm new to your channel I love your tips! The only one I would differ with is when you said to stick with keeping everything more neutral and to stay away from prints, patterns, or different details, etc. I am a senior, but one of my favorite stores is Anthropologie. I like to shop there because they have so many unique styles and this sets them apart from so many other stores! I think you can still look very classy and expensive if you have some unique pieces in your wardrobe ☺️

    • @MommiesMakeupAndMoscato
      @MommiesMakeupAndMoscato  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We absolutely love prints & colors too. If you are buying very inexpensive pieces, like Walmart or Target brand, then usually sticking with neutral, plain colors makes it harder to tell the are inexpensive. That’s why we recommend if you want cheaper clothes to look more luxurious, sticking with neutrals will make that easier. Anthropology has very high quality clothing & they do some gorgeous prints.

    • @trishac9516
      @trishac9516 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@MommiesMakeupAndMoscato Thank you! I thought that might be what you meant, but I wasn't sure. I love a classic look, but I'm way too old to start wearing just neutrals. ☺️ I always stick to the basics when I'm buying it Target or stores similar. But I've gotten a lot of compliments wearing my snake print booties, leopard flats, plaid coat, etc. that I've purchased from either Nordstrom or Anthropologie 💕

I bought the Vanelli ones, but I’m so disappointed, despite everything I’ve tried, I don’t think I can wear them because they are so narrow in the toes. (I did size up one size, and my feet are C width, or average, not EE). Originally, I ordered even a half-size larger, but they just wouldn’t stay on, even on the tightest setting, my feet came out with every step. I really want to wear this style of shoe!

    • @MommiesMakeupAndMoscato
      @MommiesMakeupAndMoscato  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a tough call. Right now more and more women are really embracing the natural gray or white hair look and it really can be quite beautiful especially if your hair is in good condition and has shine. Of course if you are not happy with the gray then coloring is certainly an option but it is a commitment. Most people doing full color have to at least touch up roots about every 4-6 weeks.

      I never pay more than 20 bucks for a handbag. Even the cheap ones imitate designerbags

      As someone who owns handbags ranging from less than $20 to $2000 (I have more than 30 handbags in my collection), I think there is a huge different in terms of quality between the cheaper bags and the more expensive ones. Sometimes less mainstream brands which have very good reviews in terms of their quality and timelessness of designs can be purchased at significantly lower prices. Also, the handbags we carry to me also depend on your job, the circle of people you mix with and how we want other people to to perceive/view us.

      Karyn you can search on Amazon they have stylish purses for a good price. Of course not name brand but look “expensive” and well made.

    I could not agree more with all of the tips mentioned! Particularly, wearing one logo item, rather than several! It's amazing how many influencers make this mistake!! Less is more!!

      I deplore wearing a logo regardless of how classic or expensive the item may be. I don't think I should have to pay to be a walking advertisement for any brand. This does present a problem as most of them are '"proud" of their logos or think we are!

    One more tip: don't overdo your makeup:) Either play up eyes or lips, but not both.

    I've noticed that many of the style influencers on TH-cam do have designer belts and bags and put them with less expensive pieces. I saw your dupes video several months ago and I went to amazon and bought one of those dupe belts. Belts are very expensive but bags are even more so. I'd have to pick one up and try it on and carry it around the store to test how heavy it is. I cannot carry heavy leather purses. Not for a prolonged period but maybe for a short time where it is not on my shoulder while I am walking or standing for more than five minutes.

      It is true that by mixing a high end bag or belt with a more budget-friendly outfit you can really elevate your look. I love to purchase my luxury bags pre-loved from the website Fashionphile. You can test it around your house at least and you have 30 days to return as long as tags are not removed.

      Well I’ve never paid $5K for one but I do believe people have the right to spend their money how they choose & if that’s what they enjoy then it’s no different that buying a luxury car or anything else.

      @@MommiesMakeupAndMoscato Good point. For those of us who are value-driven, those high ticket-items , whatever they may be, are not worth the money ......

    • @MommiesMakeupAndMoscato
      @MommiesMakeupAndMoscato  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely understand. I feel that way about many luxury items too because they are not how I wish to spend. Luckily, you do t need to spend a lot of money to look great & have fun with fashion.
