From a plumer point of view. Just add a check valve on in a d on out. This will solve all problems a d make waterflow increase.,,,, if ya don't mind my 2 cents.
It's not building pressure in the pipe, but rather boiling in the high spots because the water isn't moving fast enough. The vertical idea was the perfect solution. It must flow uphill, as heat or hot water must rise.
Yeah I might cut the long pieces off and weld back on perpendicular so the coil stands vertical. That was my original plan the whole tim but the coil is taller then the hot tub so I’d have to compress somehow. The coil is SS and very stiff so compressing won’t be easy
Awesome video buddy!! My favorite part was when you was in the hot tub holding the morning wood can of beer!! Best part by far buddy!! Loved it for sure!! How many said Anything about that????
Good eye your the only one to see that. A good local beer like that is a requirement when sitting in a homemade hotub in the middle of nowhere. Thanks for watching Duramax are definitely a good truck. I’m just a hard headed ford guy
I had an idea of a metal garbage container on blocks and fire right under the container, maybe a chimney made of a 100 lb propane tank or few fire extinguishers.
I wanna build one of these to bring on a boat and do onshore. Same tub size but might jam my coils in a portable tent stove. (Open burning laws). Any suggestions/ ideas?
That would work or you could use a snorkel style stove like I have in my hot tub at my cabin, which is in some of our other videos. I just( this last weekend) added a copper coil inside the stove pipe which helped heat up the hot tub a lot faster. I tried to get the water to thermosiphon through the coil with no luck I ended up using a pump
@@diyalaskanlifestyle I would just use a small water pump to move the water then the coil can be taller than the H2O level. It is safer if your water is flowing because otherwise if your rely on just tiny flow of water expansion then the water comes out almost boiling into the hot tub and can be dangerous, vs if you have a pump the water will come out much less hotter but you will have more flow so you can actually heat the tub faster. Ideally i have been looking at various designs and i have found that the most efficient way to heat your pool is to have a huge metal tank and fire underneath it and a chimney.
@@diyalaskanlifestyle Why fire? Is this because you're living off of grid? I would just hook that tank up to a boiler and thermostat and then you're going to have perfect temperature all the time. You can even hook up a water circulator. But maybe you don't have those options Where You Are

Keep up the great videos thank you very much! Beautiful backdrop out there in Alaska, man you lucky, love from Maine.
Stay safe my friends ❤️
Thanks for watching

Who makes that blue flannel hoody you’re wearing? I want one 😆

Looks awesome

Where did you find the SS tubing? Thanks for posting!
We used them as coils in big underground sumps in the refinery I worked at

Is that at mp196 on the Parks Hwy?
Yep
Was that in Alaska
did you finish your coil upgrade project. How long did it take to warm up the water to 100 degrees?
I never did. I may use my skidsteer to see if I can smash the coil down the problem is the return needs to be lower then the H2O level

Maybe put the other hose on the opposite side of the tub.
Yeah I thought about that, I just mix it with a shovel every 1hr or so. If I build another one I might do that

need to make it wider and shorter . so you can have an wide fire
And probably increase the diameter of the tubing a little bit. Maybe even increase the wall thickness if possible
Please share the FYI on the pump set up
I didn’t use the pump for anything but pumping the water into the blue drum. The water circulates on its own through the coil in the fire
Well you can make some money selling the coil and Hoses set up to the lower 48
