Lewis Collins was an English film and theatre actor. His career-defining role was playing 'Bodie' in the late 1970s - early 1980s British television series The Professionals. Collins was born in Bidston, Birkenhead, on the Wirral Peninsula in Merseyside. At the age of two, he won the 'The Most Beautiful Baby in Liverpool' contest.
When he was 13 years of age his father Bill, a jazz dance band leader, bought him a drum kit. His first gig was playing with his father's band, and he also joined a group of older school pupils to form a band called The Renegades at the start of the Merseybeat music scene in Liverpool in the late 1950s.
"Robot voice reads Wikipedia entry" is a more accurate title. Also: I would point out The New Professionals was a massive hit outside the UK with one country playing all episodes through three times consecutively. Without Mr Collins it was not a good sequel to The Professionals, but Mr Woodward was famous for Callan and The Equalizer and the series was largely written by the talented Brian Clemens. I feel sad for Lewis Collins. He was a super star and deserved a better career after The Professionals.

I was shocked to hear about the death of Lewis Collins. Nobody could have been a better Bodie than Lewis! Lewis Collins's appearance in Robin of sherwood was brilliant! Even in one episode of the Bill! I will never forget that! Rest in peace Lewis!

You forgot to mention Lewis was also in a Tv comedy sitcom in the 1970’s called The Cuckoo Waltz before he appeared in The Professionals

Judy Davis is in my opinion they one person who had Lewis dropped from the Bond lead conversation with those in charge because of how she helped kill Who Dares Wins with her protesting the movie that she was in. If I’d of had my way she’d of never got another role
He was great with Martin Shaw, his film work in Who Dares Wins is first class too. At least we have the DVD's of the professionals to watch.
Bodie made him to popular. He was great in the series. He would of been great as Bond. He died early because he was always fit. Sad- I remember him well.

He could have played James Bond in Octopussy but sadly he was turned out because he looked too aggressive for that role. I guess the franchise wasn’t ready to have a dark and sinister 007 like Dalton’s portrayal.
