Stop the talk. Haul to jail. Force all officials complacent in the scam to pay for the damages. US government should cover the cost ASAP. Extract the damages from the culprits. UNLESS we hold and punish officials responsible for willful wrong doings, this country will keep spiraling down the sewage. We, THE PEOPLE, must FORCE change in government to serve us, not profiteers.

Two things I have not seen reported.
    1. Why was Detroit always raising the price they charged Flint? I'm talking double digit increases on an annual basis. 25% more to sign a new contract which Flint refused. Detroit was trying to pay for their system on the backs of Flint residents would be my guess.
    2. Why did it cost 5 million dollars to reconnect to Detroit water? I'm sure it was just a matter of turning a valve.
When it comes right down to it this whole situation is due to the greed of Detroit.

Everyone involved should go to prison! Some people suffered permanent brain damage from drinking Flint water! In the meantime, the city officials were getting rich, and keeping their own families supplied with bottled water (because they most certainly KNEW about the problem)!
Reminds me of Standing Rock... Those city officials didn't want the oil pipe line built near the city's water supply because it could eventually leak and poison the water. So they ordered the line built away from there, and near the indian reservation's water supply. Then those same officials said there's no danger of the line leaking and poisoning the water!

I have an idea to helps solve the world water problem in water barron areas and to replenish the aquifers, also help combat saltwater intrusion in aquifers, and help clean up Rivers that are full of bacteria in areas of the world that are highly populated.......... I believe we should focus efforts on reverse osmosis- make large scale reverse osmosis systems. We can improve these osmosis systems and get them to pump something around 1000 gallons per second and then run the water though charcoal filter system, and lastly ph systems. We can even filter the ocean water and pump it through pipelines to water barron areas of the world, tribal communities, replenish aquifers, filter-out saltwater intruded aquifers, clean up dirty rivers and water areas and pump clean water into communities. We could also create man-made freshwater lakes in areas in the desert and Africa and shield them with biospheres so they don't evaporate and stock them with freshwater fish to combat world hunger. The sky is the limit with Reverse osmosis and I think we need to concentrate our efforts on this to solve a lot of the world issues.

Native Chique I watched a documentary on this and they have to go to the next town or city over next to them to use a public shower or they will generally get a gym membership in the next city across from them just to use the gym for showering resources and they cook with bottled water.

Didn't we spend a trillion bucks in infrastructure (during the stimulus) to prevent this stuff from happening? When Flint let Detroit know they were going to stop using Detroit's water in three years, why did Detroit shut them off immediately? Can't these people talk to each other?

Obama visited there when he got in office and said the water is fine than made a deal to let the military use Flint as a war exercise area without any of the locals being asked about it. I liked Obama until I learned about what he did to Flint.

The Utility Director (water boss) of Flint who created this mess in the first place (Howard Croft) was black. His qualification as Director?
He installed SOLAR PANELS. He knew nothing of chemistry or water treatment. 7 of the 9 members of the Flint City Council & who voted for the changes and who hired incompetent Croft were black, 7 of 9.
Yet it is the white Governors fault? Snyder did not hire Croft or create this mess. This was an easily preventable event if water stabilizer was added to the water and would have cost less than a penny a person a month. Yet the black director did not know to do this as they do not teach this in SOLAR PANEL school. Want the truth? I have hundreds of hours of water treatment training so I know this.
