Australian PGA Professional Alan Staines plays at LOWOOD GOLF CLUB on a 40 degree day. I have been using the Pro V1x for as long as I can remember and wanted to see what the fuss with the 2024 TP5x is about.
The TP5x definately launches higher and spins less than my PRO V1x, great in the simulator but out of the rough it drops too much spin.

Bloody hot mate. The tp5x are not for me but the tp5, pro v1x and chrome tour x are good for those needing higher spin

Loved the comparison between the 2 golf balls. And you mentioned a few times you game a Ping 430 driver which is keeping one of the latest drivers out of your bag. Which 430 do you use, along with loft and shift flex?

Which ball did you think performed best around the greens and putting?
After more testing, I'd find it hard to play the tp5x. It's longer which is fine to get use to, but spin is lower than I want to see because once in the rough, the spin drops more
Just not use to the flight difference. The tp5x pops up more

They are definitely fast. Might gain some distance.
Your crazy Al playing that many holes in that outback heat. It's way worse than on the coast getting that sea/bay breeze

The weather is disgusting M8 38 ° and I'm sitting here in the UK with a boiling 8° Al lol lol , Question my friend , can a slower swing speed compress the tp5 ball to play it or is it better for faster swing speeds because of the 5 layers , bloody wish I was out their M8 ⛳👍
Slower speeds would be fine. Everyone should do their own testing starting from the green and working back to mid irons.

I’ve been comparing the same two balls. Have also found the ball is longer off the tee and fairway. Do not like the feel when chipping and putting. Jury is still out if I’ll make the switch. Distance is great, but it putts like crap compared to the Pro V1x.
I'm in the same boat as you mate. It's great to see it go higher and longer but I don't think I'll be changing
@@AUSSIEGOLFREVIEWER I’m going to try the new Callaway Tour X next. Really like it for putting and has been good on chipping. Feels good and nice off the putter. On course testing is next.
Just a question on 7 you set up not wearing your cap then you swing with your cap on then you walk back with no cap on.
I am a member at Lowood and we walk every Saturday in that type of heat.
Yeah, I chose the wrong tracer I think.

Not a true comparison, the pro v1x is the high spin ball and the TP5x is the low spin ball , should have used the TP5 which is the higher spin ball.
Not meant to be a comparison of two similar balls. I was contemplating changing to the tp5x because indoor testing was decent. In the real world with tight fairways and no rough they would be ok.

Got to admit I don't like pro v as they feel very clunky off my putter face , much prefer a softer ball .
Feel is huge. As long as the ball reacts how you want, it's a good ball for you
