- Everyone loves pizza of all kinds. If you've never made a cast iron pizza let me show you how I make mine, it's crispy and golden brown.
Cast iron pizza
Ingredients:
1 lbs of pizza dough ( trimmed if needed)
14 oz can of Don Pepino pizza sauce
1/2 to 3/4 lbs of mozzarella cheese
Grated parmesan or pecorino Romano
1/2 lbs of ground sausage
Pepperoni
olive oil
Directions:
Please watch my video
Looks good, I prefer thinner dough, this reminds me more like old school Pizza Hut, Pan Pizza
If you like a thinner pizza just roll it out to how thick you like and trim it to fit the pan, you definitely don't have to have it this thick, and yes it does now remind me of a pizza hut pizza, thank you for watching!
This video just popped up on my feed. I just subscribed. Looks great.
I was wondering how to make cast iron pizza .. I just got a new cast iron skillet.. I’m looking forwards to trying your methods .. appreciate your time to make a video for those of us out here wanting more recipes for our cast iron skillets.. 👍
I subbed too! 🙏
Cast iron cooking is great, I use them all the time. Good luck with your new pan. Thanks for watching and for subscribing!
Make sure you "season" it. And season it every once in awhile. Google how to do it!! It's worth the effort and makes all-the-difference!!
@@cecileroy557 oh thank you i will .. I got the skillet at Aldi for 9.99 and surprising it’s a real nice one .. I’ve put the oil on like it said to do and cooked in it and I had a little bit of sticking and I was frying in it and still had a little sticking so I’ll do the oil thing again. I’m very happy with it .. I’m thinking if I make the pizza in it .. all that oil will help to season it more?? .. I’d like to try the liquid pizza crust recipe in the cast iron pan .. but I want to make sure it doesn’t stick at all before i do that .. I’d definitely purchase another cast iron pan from Aldi .. it’s turned out to be a nice skillet and the price was right..
Ty for this!!! Great details and not hard. Very well explained! Ill be making this!
Your welcome and thank you for watching!
This looks so good and easy to make. I love shortcuts! This is good for a week night meal, or on the weekend to watch a movie with hubby. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed my video! Thanks for watching
Looks good, I’m with you on the cast iron, some tips I can offer: pre heat your pan, this increases the crispy bottom. I love Cento pizza sauce more than Don Pepino, and you can turn on the broiler to crisp the top as well, enjoy.
Thanks for your input and thanks for watching!

That looks delicious so I think it’ll be on next week’s menu. Tip for cutting pizzas and not pushing your toppings off - use a bench scraper and just press through the pizza. Toppings stay put :).

THAT PIZZA LOOKS AMAZING
@@petetinkham3303 thank you!and thanks for watching!
That looks amazing. Try preheating the oven to absolute maximum 550f put the iron skillet inside the oven for the preheating at least half an hour and cook the dough and the pizza sauce and herbs first, then bring it back out and add everything else. You will not believe the difference in crunch and the dough will be soft inside at home 2stage is best but I love what you’ve done with that pizza!

"Jersey Fresh Tomatoes"! That's why it's' so good!
We did pizza on the outdoor grill and it was the best ever!
@@jeunebug I've done it on mine as well and your right it's a whole different pizza. Almost like a wood wired pizza. Thanks for your comment.
I am going to try it in a cast iron skillet with a cheese rim tucked around the outside for a crispy edge maybe out of jack cheese
Not a fan of thick crust pizza. BUT I can tell ya that Jersey is known for their tomatoes!! Best maters for sure. The nest best are from Italy. Its the soil. Great job. I make my own dough and sauce from my homegrown maters and cook on the grill. Blessings
Just don't use as much dough for a thinner pizza. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching!

LMAO!! You nailed it dude!!
This looks absolutely delicious. I have a new cast iron skillet but haven’t used it yet. My questions is how can you tell that the dough is fully cooked in the center? For me, I’d be concerned that I pulled the pizza out too soon and the dough is still raw in the center.
@@MP-yz6sb if the top and bottom of your pizza is brown then the inside is definitely cooked. Thanks for watching!
How much dough did you purchase bud? Looks awesome I want to make it I don’t know how thick
@@matttierneysr7406 the only thing I can say is by a pound of dough and put it in the pan and if it's to much just cut some from around the perimeter. Thanks for watching!
You could also put it on the stove top for a bit after, if you want more color on the bottom.
Yeah sometime I start it out like that if I want that charred taste but for this one I was just trying to show how to get a great crispy bottom. Thanks for your comment and for watching!
Back in the day Pizza Hut would bring these in pans. Same with the personal pan. Crispy edges, bursting with flavor and texture. Sorry Pizza Hut. The sun set on you along time ago.
Oh, I remember that very well. Back in the day nothing like a pizza hut pizza and the red tablecloths. Thank for watching!
I'm so sick of pizza but I would eat the HELL outta that right now!! That looks so good 🤤🤪🍕

You have some runaway pepperonis . I'll take care of those😅 that pizza looks delectable
Lol, that's funny! Thanks for your comment and for watching!
How to cook pizza in a gas stove? It saves millions. Set the pizza on an iron pan [steel/aluminum will do]. get another pan bigger pan iron/steel [as possible no aluminum] than the pizza pan and make that as a cover of the pizza pan that you have. It will create a super/express/conventional heat on top, in a few minutes check if the cheese is melted which means that it is already cooked. From Grandma.

Reminds me of Pizza Hut🤗

Have never seen and I've tried , with any success spreading pizza dough with that much oil right in the pan without contracting back to how you started to spread . What's the trick ? Good video . TY .
So my advice is to let your dough sit out about 30 min to 60 min at room temperature and proof until it's soft, it will be easier to stretch. Thank you for your comment and thanks for watching!
Looks great and I gleaned a lot of info so I do not know why the nasty remarks about using ready made ingredients.
Can you make a Chicago deep dish pizza next time? Sausage is the favorite there, and it actually is a pressed layer to the shape of the pizza. Chicago and Detroit style doesn't compare to NYC and Napolitano style.
@@btk1213 a sausage deep dish pizza, now that sounds great, I will definitely keep that in mind. Thanks for you comment and thanks for watching!
How much of the dough was actually still raw?
@@raysdga 0 % of it raw, It was definitely cook all the way through. Why would you think it was raw? It was on the bottom rack at 500 degrees. Thanks for watching!

After you add the oil to the pan, add a little salt and pepper. Really sets it off.

Did you heat the cast iron before you put the dough in?
No I didn't. It was room temperature. Putting it in such a hot oven there is no need to preheat. Thanks for watching my video!
Why did I have to come across this vid after I started my diet? 😭😭😭
Moved to Florida - can't get that pizza sauce here at Publix... Gonna try Sonoma.
Try asking the store manager about getting it. They are usually really good about accommodating their customers requests.

What size pan is being used?
I used a 12 inch for this. Thanks for the question and for watching!

As you can see the pizza was extremely hot, that why I didn't take a bite. I wouldn't of posted the video if it wasent good, the sauce was a solid 4 out of 5. Thanks for commenting and thanks for watching!

See the way your pepperoni are flopping around when cutting, no cheese on top to hold the toppings in place!!!

Flat Bread with pizza toppings
Not exactly, this dough has yeast in it that's why it's a little puffy. Flat bread pizza doesn't have yeast, the reason why Flatbread is thinner and it's very dense and crunchy. Thanks for you comment and thanks for watching!
