Varun thank you for showing the Real Picture of schools here in 🇨🇦and 🇺🇸…..when we first came to Canada it was a big transition and lots of changes but the biggest change I saw was in my first born….he studied in India also but every single day he used to cry cry before going to school but here in the past 11 years I have never even seen my kids crying not to go to school…..instead they don’t like sitting in home!!
One thing more that happened which made me feel blessed that my kids are studying here as when their teachers came to know that I was a single parent, they told me they will pay for all the trips and all school supplies until my kids study in that school….I literally had tears in my eyes 🙏🏻❤️
Study in India is not bad at all but it’s the system and the way the kids are pressurized….The practical and life experience the kids get here is really worth it… It’s mandatory for kids in high schools to do volunteering so that they can understand what work culture is!!
Really really amazing video….all points covered and that little angel hugging her grandma was all Love ❤️……..God bless everyone 🙏🏻🙏🏻

What the school did for your kids was incredible! Thanks to those policy makers and proactive citizens who transformed the school education there. I wish every child on earth could be so privileged.

    In the last part of video Grandma said;
    "ભાર વિનાનું ભણતર"
weightless education. Unfortunately in india it's
    "ભાન વિનાનું ભણતર"
senceless education. The timing of this video is just simply perfect, reason why India got very less medals in Olympic.
(P.S. This is the best Olympic in the history). Its ok if it don't get maximum number of likes but more importantly it should get maximum number of shares. This video is not less than any podcast filled wholesome knowledge from different perspectives. Lets hope situation changes after implantation of New Education Policy.

I can comment a bit on this since I have studied in the US ; not from K-12, but fir masters in the university.
Some things related to schools in the US ( mean till grade 12 as being discussed in the video)
    1) Yes, public schools are free till 12th, but parents can put their pupils in the public school which belongs to their residence area, meaning. To brief, in the US , kids change their school when they complete primary education, then go to different school building for secondary and then to some other for high school ( from 9th till Grade12). So not all schools are that good in terms of several issues inherent; so the public school which is ranked top is mostly in an high end expensive residential district and mostly Indians and others have to buy houses in these areas to send in the best ranked school. Hope you’ll got this!
    2) There is no such district area for private schools and generally affluent families send their wards in such where monthly fees range from 1500$ or more , this is even expensive from University fees.
    3) As per my knowledge and experience, education is mandatory in US and all other developed nations till 12th. If for any reason as mentioned by Jayesh bhai, if kids are not sent, cops ask parents the real reason and then assign guardianship as said by Mr Jayesh Patel.
    4) Kids cannot be spanked nor scolded loudly as per law ( any kid below 18). Also to inform, if a girl says she is less than 18 and if any guy (above18)still tries to date her or convince her for friendship, he is by law reprimanded or even in court ; it’s a serious offense
    5) Yes, in school, there is no mental or physical pressure as education is task and creative based depending on child’s personality. All schools(public or private) have a dedicated counsellor and psychologist by law. Again every class or grade has 2 teachers handling the class ; one is the main teacher who teaches and to support her, there is another teacher assistant to perform non teaching work so that work is balanced.
    6) As mentioned by Patels’, university education after 12th or there is one more way similar to Indian polytechnic called ‘ Community Colleges’ which can be attended after 12th grade. They are tad cheaper to universities and offer mostly 2 year Associate Degrees. Yes, but university education in the US is a sudden spike in tuition fees from no fee ( public education) to high fees. Also remember any Bachelor degree in US is for 4 years ( approx 120-130 credits) as per credit system followed in America.
Hope you got the gist of all!
I can continue on this .. apologies fir a longer one !
Great informative video by Varun and content 🙏🏻👍
    Regards
    Rohit

In the US Public Schools are funded by our home's real estate taxes. Schools also get money from the Federal and state governments. Public schools are free including transportation. Most public schools are fully equipped and have good teachers. Class size (number of students in a class) is far less than in India. Also, emphasis is on understanding concepts rather than memorizing.

Varun one of the interesting fact about USA 🇺🇸 higher education is that “The cost of attending an out-of-state college can be considerably higher than attending an in-state college. This is because most states subsidize the higher education of students who are residents of the state, which means you will pay lower tuition fees when attending an in-state college.” Many people living in USA 🇺🇸 even don’t know about it. Thank you for another wonderful Vlog with Gujarati Family . Feeling very proud being Gujarati 🇮🇳❤️.

Thank you for bringing a topic like this up in your vlog. It was really informative. School should be a safe and happy place, where the mental health of the students should always be monitored. I know there are a lot of great schools in India too, but unfortunately all of them are private. There are a lot of positive changes which we can implement. But more importantly i guess we should learn to respect all forms of creativity, as creativity is as important as literacy, and this is what makes us unique. Practically it's a difficult task to change a system in a day or two.... but I believe change comes from within. So thank you for this vlog. A huge amount of people from vast sectors follows you, and i really believe this video is going to make an impact. Where we don't stigmatize mistakes but we make our systems and mindset better, and encourage ourselves and others to be their best versions.
    Take care✨

Really good video Varun bhai. I am a Computer science and engineering student in Mangalore, India. I feel we can hardly find any good educational practices in India that we can share in the USA. I think the Indian education system is more about byhearting rather than understanding and applying the concepts to make our lives better. The Pre-University college where I had classes from 7am to 7pm just in order to mentally pressurize and torture students just for the sake of getting good ranks and get a seat in a good university college. In such conditions, many students leave the college right in the beginning (no refund), and those who sustain go through this hectic pressure. During my 2 years of this PU college, there was a su!c!de case and several before I have even joined. This must be stopped before this costs more lives!!

What an indepth video regarding the analysis of Indian and American education system sir. After watching this I feel we have a long way to go in order to achieve such educational equality. Our education system needs complete overhaul. First of all there is a need of bridging the educational gap between the rural and urban areas so that everyone is at equal level. Most importantly the activities like sports and arts should be given due importance apart from studies The culture of rat race and the habit of measuring progress of every child through a single parameter should be completely done away with. There are so many good things about this American education system which can yield amazing outcomes if they are properly implemented in our system. Witnessing so much of education disparity makes me willing to be a part of this change making process so that I can make my contributions to the society 😊.

If there is a comparison then it should be made with Indian education system and Finland (or other Nordic countries) model
Because school system in US too is in crisis , public school in many cities there has just collapsed
Each year dozens of school are closing so the parents are either choosing private school or community run school .
But community school has its own drawback
This crisis happened since the US Govt decided to privatise education sector years ago
Common testing (like we have board exam) were introduced in George Bush era to keep a check and focus on getting good grades
It has compelled schools to focus on grades than learning(what we face in India) , also teachers are leaving their jobs regularly ,is a huge problem in US

There is a rat race here too...it just depends whether you want to participate...on the other handa lot of schools are 'amok' with violence drugs guns esp in the inner cities... there is no discipline. The picture portrayed here is a minuscule of the entire gamut of the entire US system. Lastly don't discount the Indian school system...a lot of Indians students do fairly well here.

The attitude and the policy made by the government over there regarding education, and how the education is imparted to the children over there is really, really commendable!
We can learn so many things from them!!

    Awesome video Varun.
I worked with Child services for about 6 months, when I came to US. My job was to transport teens from a disclosed location to Police stations where they meet their family members for a short period, or transport to clinics where both parents & kid do psychological evaluation, study of behavior for both parents & kid. Or take them to judge.
Most of the time I feel sad for the kids.
Other reasons except beating or yelling at kids are teen pregnancy, teen's violent behavior towards other & drug abuse.
As per schooling what is saw is education level in Indian 1st class student is equals to 4th Grade American student.
Indian students are great in bookish knowledge but they lacks in practical knowledge.
American education system is very light in school & very tough in collages or universities compared to Indian education system which is tough in schools & moderate in collages.

We used to have education system like USA n European countries in ancient times which was called Gurukul. That Gurukul environment taught students to be independent and creative. Everything was taught including household chores too, every students were treated equally whether they belong to Royal Family Or poor one. But after British rule education system has now totally a different face where students are lot under pressure to achieve something even they are not good at it just because their parents want to. Comparison is the worst demon in our society. It not only discourage but also makes a student to take wrong path. Thats what shown in movie TAARE ZAMEEN PAR. The only way to fix this is if parents listen to their child what they want, instead of forcing, encourage them make them believe that yes they can do it n we believe in you whatever field they choose. Like in recent case USA, Japan are in top tally in Olympic while India ranked below coz here in India want children to be doctors and engineers but want gold medals in Olympics like USA, JAPAN. Thank you so much for making this video throwing lights on education system of our country and theirs. ☺❤ stay blessed. ❤

Because of the fact that most Indians residing in US are WELL OFF and they EARN SUBSTANTIAL INCOME they(NRI) and they can afford VERY HIG FEE OF PRIVATE SCHOOLS , So They(NRI) Don't prefer public schools because of issues like :-
BULLYING(Bullying is very big problem is public schools in US)
SCHOOL SHOOTINGS(because of GUN CULTURE in US students who get bullied can easily acces gun and harm other students in school, every now and then you wud hear abor shooting in public schools in US)
BULLYING BECAUSE OF POLITICAL AFFILIATIONS(students can wear clothes with political symbols in public schools but states like CALIFORNIA hav become so radical that if you are trump supporter in California , you wud get :- HARRASED, BEATEN , ASSAULTED)

Education ministers in India should see this video. Learn man learn. This is why USA is as advanced they are at present and this why India is where it is at present. I don't care being a citizen of India, but after watching and hearing this basic education facilities, I am ashamed of countries education system. So many students are deprived of their true honor in the field of their own interest and instead they are forced to take up something that only ruins the further run in life or else just make a robot in the way they are. I loved the part where it was mentioned of the concept of 'Gap Year' and 'Anyone can pursue any domain at any age'. Hope I soon migrate to USA.

I really thank you for taking up this topic. This is a vast topic and there is a lot to say... The network of private school increasing day by day in India, by which the education is being commercialized. There is lot of competition between schools which in turn affects education and ultimately a child.
We have a lack of facilities in public schools, by which people are forced to admit their child in private schools. It's a fact...!
We also should not ignored the fact that
there are some sections of our society are still deprived of education. I learned about some NGOs run by youngster serving for underprivileged sections of our society, without a single penny in return, this is commendable...!
I guess there is a lack of awareness about Right to Education. In this context western education system is ideal and we should appreciate and should always welcome for good things, which I believe.
We being a responsible citizen, we can bring some good changes in our society.

    Hi Varun:
A very informative Vlog! There are so many differences between the education systems of both countries that we can write a whole book about it. Suffice it to say that the kids here in the US learn from a very young age how to collaborate with other students, make group presentations (very important skill) and be self-confident. They know that if they argue with their teacher about some point, the teacher is going to give them a patient hearing and not just shut them down.
Also, the concept of a gap year is becoming more and more prevalent now especially with kids who want to be doctors. As the course study for Medicine is grueling, students usually take a gap year after their undergrad studies. However, they don't waste that year by sitting at home or traveling. Usually, they would be doing research in their field of study or working in a doctor's office to gain some practical knowledge.

Also forgot to tell one important thing about US/ Canada educwtion( technically this applies for school to even university level) ; there is no system like big or main exam pattern, the grades are given as a culmination of projects( personal or group), assignments and an objective kind of exam ( similar to yes or no pattern) , but there is nothing like passing or main exam, akin to 10th or 12th boards in India . Same continue in the university too !

This us so much informative and a truth as well which we all should accept. But it feels bad to see that yet there are so less changes in the education system. We praises movies likes 3 Idiots but we don't adapt them in our life.So somehow we keep those changes in our mind to make us feel good but we don't adapt them. School literally plays a vital role in childs mentality and in there growth. I remember in our school days when we used to be good in sports but not in studies so our family used to be called at school saying that all his focus is in sports and not he is not staying focused towards studies which is actually wrong. Indian education system literally needs to be changed. Some changes are good but We should not always blame to teachers or school but sometimes the children also misuses the power of being a student.
Its very important to make a very positive atmosphere for students in school and the best part I like was In Country like USA they treat every single students same. There disabilities were adapted in such a way that there mind never goes toward that. Like awarding them for helping someone, etc.
My daughter just turned one recently and I literally think alot about her future like in covid when we see children's not going to school this is somehow affecting there mental development because in school they meet a lot of children's and they learn how to make friends. So life for children are getting much and much tougher these days. Hopefully a lot of things will get changed in future. Hoping for the best.
Maybe someone from education system will see this video and try to make some changes as well in the system.
Thank You Varun Bhai for sharing this Video.
    Stay Blessed
    Keep Smiling ☺️☺️

Hello sir really loved this video and indeed our education system in India need changes . Though I feel few things the family were mentioning is very difficult to be adaptable in indian society. My mom is a teacher with more than 35 yrs of experience at Central school and this corporal punishment part was recently introduced to schools. Teacher followed the policy and somehow felt that children and parents were mis-utilising the rule. Teachers used to get bullied by children and misbehaved by parents. Nobody care about teachers too in our country this is also a sad part. It's like 2 side of a coin thus I feel in USA teachers must have been given much high respect than in our country which is a very sad thing.

We dont have to go too far, even Myanmar (one of our neighboring country) has the similar teaching style (as adopted from British and American Schools) in Private International Schools... kids dont have to carry heavy bags... teaching methods were completely shocking for us (as coming from India) in the beginning....but eventually, we liked the methods ...
The point is that we can take positives and adopt improvement opportunities from around the world
The best way to improve is delineate Education from Business...things will improve certainly.... Start trusting on Government School
