Oh goodness! I did a self-drive trip in the US where I drove around 2000 miles and yes, the fear of fines, over speeding, or worse, an accident is very real.
I have done over 20k miles of road trips in the US as a tourist. Not a single pull-over, not a single ticket. Follow all speed postings and traffic rules (look up all the turn rules online, which tend to vary from state to state). And make sure the head lights and brake lights are working. Set aside all fear and enjoy your drive.

The officer was fair in a sense that he cited for only 10 miles over the speed limit and not 20 miles over, which would have required a court appearance.
I am impressed by two things in this video. First professionalism of the American police department and second professionalism of system. As an indian I am shocked after hearing about fine of ₹ 9000. In simple words lesson learnt from this video is... "कायदे मैं रहोगे तो फायदे मैं रहेंगे...!"
I was fined 2000/- INR for overspeeding on Delhi Noida link road last year and the challan was sent on the same day on my phone via text message with a link to pay it online. The time period of paying the challan amount was 3 months and if not paid the same would be send to the concerned court.
Good lesson varun. And it was a nice gesture to cool him as he was a bit nervous. Everyone would be in that condition. Good to ease his anxiety. Lesson learnt in 100 dollars and also to ensure the lesson reach us. This system should be here even.
@@manujohn99 Give him a break on the fine amount. The officer was helping him out by lowering the speed he was going over. Fines are determined on how fast you were going over. Usually the police don't care if you are going 5-10 over the limit, but in this case, almost 20 over is a definite ticket. Warnings are also given at the discretion of the officer too.
@@manujohn99 Normally the police in the US are quite polite and polished. They don't harass you like in India. Mostly, you realize you are in the wrong and the fine or punishment is fair. Unlike in India where they look at you and decide how and how much to fleece you - basically in India they profile you - are you a local, look like a politician, look...

Rules are very strict in USA and cost you a lot… 150$ for speeding, 200$ if you park in handicapped parking, Atleast 10000$ (7.5lakh rupees) for court cases and other expenses if you caught in Driving under alcohol+ life time US visa ban . I hope india shd have strict rules especially for Alcohol driving cases ….
JayeshJi is one of those people who explains each and everything in detail so that a layman can understand it, about the police episode, whenever you hit the roads on a long trip be prepared that 1)You may get a flat Tyre. 2) a close shave due to an idiot driver. 3)wrong turns 4)police pulling you up. This is part and parcel of life in the U.S. Pay the fine and move on. In some states when you get 3 tickets your license gets suspended. It may take 3 years to get it re-instated. Also, do not think of skipping the fine. If you do, your license will be suspended. Also, the fine varies from state to state and it can be as high as $500 for speeding.
one more thing, if on court date if officer don’t come so court will cancel the ticket. it often happen lot in canada that officer don’t come so that many people dispute their ticket. and court date will come after 6-7 months when you challenge your ticket

Hi Varun: Very absorbing video! The Police in the US are normally quite decent when they pull you over for speeding etc. If you are lucky, they warn you and send you on your way. They also give you a break sometimes by stating a lesser speed than your actual speed. The fines depend on how much you were over speeding and in what location (i.e. a residential area, near a school, a highway etc). What Mr. Jayesh was talking about was attending a Defensive Driving course online to get rid of any points on your license. You could have a dollar value for the fine as well as points that go against you, depending on the seriousness of the offense. If you accumulate a certain number of points, your license could be suspended.
The professionalism of the police officer is impressive. Similar incident when I happened to ride a cycle wrong on a one way road, and the professional police was so accomodating and professional. Left me with a warning. When will Indian police be so professional?

Please do differed disposition. You pay 50 dollars extra and 250 dollars fine. Take defensive driving class for 25 to 50 dollars. The advantage is you will not get anything on record and insurance will stay same. Moreover, you'll end up saving at least 2k over 2 years. Only caveat is please don't get any tickets in next 6 months.
Nothing to fear. If you are a good driver and follow the rules the USA is a pleasure to drive. Roads and amenities are excellent. The National parks are a treat to experience. The Geography and terrain varied and wonderful. Police by and large courteous. By the way no bribing. USA is a country meant to be seen by car. People are less inclined to use public transport like bus and rail.
Dude they rarely waive off speeding tickets. Also the amount of the ticket will be shown online when u pay the fine. You can also do the driving school course to waive off points on your license for your very first ticket

Problem with US is it’s not the fine it’s the driving record that goes with it, it can raise your insurance rates even from one ticket and you might pay hundreds of dollars more in insurance premiums over the next few years
2019 we family of seven driving near Germany border with my son in law in driver seat. There are three of us senior citizens, one kid and three adults. German police stoped near the border and took our passports and driving licence. After some time they told they can fine Rs 60 euros for kid not wearing seat belt. And two senior citizens not wearing belt for Rs 30 euros each and a fine to driver for not checking this. I being senior citizen explained politely for missing seat belt as the kid in between road had to go for nature call and there by forgotten . Since it was first offence they excused us seing senior citizens and gave advice. Good police ,calm and cool, helping
first time i got caught was for not stopping at stop sign and that cop was in a bad mood. He came to court on my court date and he made sure i get points
The traffic school is called "DEFENSIVE DRIVING CLASS". The class teaches the rules at a high level and some things that you need to know where there is no clarity. Emphasis will be on situations who has the right of way and thins like that. On top of that they will show pictures of accident scenes, the wreckage, what caused the accident etc just so you know what can happen from reckless driving, speeding drunk driving etc to bring you awareness, so hopefully it will sink in your head. The reporting to insurance is something any one should dread because the insurance company will raise your rates

Best to carry a radar detector to avoid getting pulled over or using Waze. $120 is a very small fine compared to what they fine people. If it is a speeding violation, cops will always pull you over and give you a ticket. It helps the police meet quotas.
That service is called "Additional Driver" service, usually most of the car rental suppliers offer that free for the first additional driver on the contract and some charge you fee against the same. Varun ji make it a note of it 😊😊
Its a common trap on that Road.. On same road police got me and gave tickets for $160 and have to pay 150$ more for removal of that tickets from license

You can always challenge the ticket and either waive it off with a driving course or plea guilty with a reason. I have tried this in Dallas TX.

Nothing to fear. If you are a good driver and follow the rules the USA is a pleasure to drive. Roads and amenities are excellent. The National parks are a treat to experience. The Geography and terrain varied and wonderful. Police by and large courteous. By the way no bribing. USA is a country meant to be seen by car. People are less inclined to use public transport like bus and rail.
Dude they rarely waive off speeding tickets. Also the amount of the ticket will be shown online when u pay the fine. You can also do the driving school course to waive off points on your license for your very first ticket
Video अच्छा है और knowledge वाला भी है। मेरे साथ भी इसी तरह हुआ था। तब मैं दिल्ली से ग्वालियर आ रहा था। गुड़गांव मानेसर वाला रूट इस्टर्न पेरीफेरल है या वेस्टर्न पेरीफ़ेरल है आइडिया नहीं। तो दूर एक पुलिस की गाड़ी खड़ी थी हांलांकि मैंने देखा तो मैं over speed था। 100kmph speed limit पर मैं 120 130kmph speed था और मेरा 200 ₹ का चालान कट गया। यहां मैं बताना चाहता हूं कि जैसे us में आपके गाड़ी के पास पुलिस आई या मुझे पुलिस की गाड़ी के पास जाना पड़ा और तब मैंने पुलिस की गाड़ी में speed limit machine देखी जोकि बहुत दूर से ही गाड़ियों की speed limit check कर रही थी। पर वही है कि अगर आप अपनी गलती मान लेते हो तो ज्यादा परेशानी नहीं होती। हमारे यहां तो लड़ बैठते हैं गलती होने के बाद भी।

2019 we family of seven driving near Germany border with my son in law in driver seat. There are three of us senior citizens, one kid and three adults. German police stoped near the border and took our passports and driving licence. After some time they told they can fine Rs 60 euros for kid not wearing seat belt. And two senior citizens not wearing belt for Rs 30 euros each and a fine to driver for not checking this. I being senior citizen explained politely for missing seat belt as the kid in between road had to go for nature call and there by forgotten . Since it was first offence they excused us seing senior citizens and gave advice. Good police ,calm and cool, helping

The traffic school is called "DEFENSIVE DRIVING CLASS". The class teaches the rules at a high level and some things that you need to know where there is no clarity. Emphasis will be on situations who has the right of way and thins like that. On top of that they will show pictures of accident scenes, the wreckage, what caused the accident etc just so you know what can happen from reckless driving, speeding drunk driving etc to bring you awareness, so hopefully it will sink in your head. The reporting to insurance is something any one should dread because the insurance company will raise your rates

Best to carry a radar detector to avoid getting pulled over or using Waze. $120 is a very small fine compared to what they fine people. If it is a speeding violation, cops will always pull you over and give you a ticket. It helps the police meet quotas.

Dude has been in US for over 4 years and still doesn’t know that he shouldn’t get out of the vehicle! I mean, u trying to get urself killed? Always be safer than sorry bro! When pulled over, don’t fish for license in ur pockets etc. Take them out and put them on the dash. Hope he doesn’t have to learn a lesson the hard way!
