Sounds pretty sexy, make money with no money down, like anything though its best to not rush in. I pull apart some of the risks of the platform and highlight how doing things legitimately might make the metrics not work.

I like browsing Turo and seeing all the people listing base model Camrys for $500/day

I did Turo with a GMC truck and Mercedes sedan for 1 year in Canada. Gross was about 9k. Factoring in insurance, maintenance and depreciation. Definitely lost at least 5k after everything.

100% right , Turo is pretty much for rent a wreck type business, basic econo boxs, that is what the majority of people want to rent.. For car guys it can be difficult to understand, but its a fact. Exotic car rentals, it seems you have to have a minimum of 5 million people in your rental area or be in a pretty strong tourist area, And the lowest price dies a slow painful death

I rent my model 3 a few times a month and not only is my payment/insurance covered, I get alot of spending money afterward. No issues besides people being dirty. You can rent a 50k telsa for more than a sports car on turo. People want the experience

Today Rob explains he doesn't like the pasta from another chef. Same recipe though.

I’ve had terrible luck with Turo. Tons of assholes and flakes trying to rent cars and charge you for everything and cancelling last minute.

A picture is worth a thousand words, is also valid when trying to explain this sort of concepts. Better to show the maths.

Thanks Rob. You are a very smart man. I've hired from Turo and often wondered how well the car owners are doing. Thanks for explaining.

The interest on 10 loans would be nuts. You'd have to run for years before that was even paid off and you begin to maybe make a buck and with everything else you mentioned there's no way this person is coming out in front with this plan alone.

Everybody treats rental cars like crap, I know I've rented crap cars from Enterprise and just redlined them everywhere.... Why on earth would you put your own car up for that sort of abuse 🤣

isn't Turo really bad for Rob Spaghetti's car rental business, just like Airbnb is bad for hotels
