Love that they left the ending open for a sequel. They knew this would be a banger
Would’ve been cool if Kairi returned to Radiant Garden, since that’s where she’s originally from. Would have totally changed the entire story
Pretty sure radiant garden was still hollow bastion at this time no?
That would have been interesting for sure.
@@buccham6354 they're the same
@tbazz95 your response means nothing because he litterally said because they're the same lol
@@aarongreen2722 and your response also means nothing because he didnt "literally" say theyre the same. he essentially said theyre the same, but you better learn english, because you dont know what literally means
a poetic detail (imo) is that sora donald goofy stay in the "end of the world", the very last world that get completed, that happens to be the "Land of departure"
Wait what?! I must've missed something, I know why it is the land of departure, if Castle Oblivion is there that means it must be the land of departure, but how did the land of departure become the end of the world?
@@christocanoid well... I don't think we have that answered sadly.... the conclusion "land of departure is end of the world since Castle oblivion was here" makes sense but there is no info about how....
@MrMordethrhedan Nomura stated in an interview, for the original Kingdom Hearts Ultimania, that the place where the door to darkness appeared was a piece of a world that was consumed by the Heartless, and the grasslands where Sora and the others were walking at the very end was the restored version of that world. From those grasslands, Sora and the others reach Castle Oblivion (Land of Departure). It’s not confirmed whether the grasslands are strictly part of the Land of Departure or just a boundary point that crosses into it. I would say they’re a boundary point though. Ansem the Wise,, when he was disguised as DiZ, noted in Secret Ansem Report 7 that Organization XIII had started to carry out research in Castle Oblivion, and that report was written just before Sora defeated Ansem in KH I.
@@mezuGC well, then the grassy field are part of land of departure, as all way between world were closed, and during BBS tutorial, you can see that around the castle there are lot of grass in the environement (wich... weirdly enough, grass isn't that common in KH) so yeah, it's not "The end of the world" that is land of departure, but just the last world restored were Sora hapened to stay on?
@MrMordethrhedan The grasslands were definitely a part of the End of the World. And assuming the grasslands are part of the Land of Departure, it’s possible that once Aqua transformed the Land of Departure into Castle Oblivion, the castle itself was cut off from the rest of the world, so when the world was consumed by the darkness, the castle remained. But again, I think the grasslands are more of a boundary line. It’s been shown that some worlds bleed into each, despite being separate. Also, worlds that belong to the realm between function a bit differently than worlds that belong to the realm of light. For example, in KH2, Sora and the others were able to go to Yen Sid’s tower from Twilight Town.
I find it funny that Ansem/Darkness spent the whole game trying to reach Kingdom Hearts only to be obliterated by its essence cuz it didnt know what to do with/expect from it. Destructive and senseless impulses lead to self annihilation and a misunderstanding of the thing you searched so long for
Poor sora will never eat that dinner his mom prepared 😢
frfr
I be forgetting that they apparently sora had parents 💀💀
I swear to god, if the end of ALLLLLL OF KINGDOM HEARTS, comes back to this scene and its just kairi standing on the beach because sora completed his mission, finally, then, tbh idk what ima do
It still baffles me how Riku and Mickey still ended up in Castle Oblivion after sealing themselves from the "other side"
I wanted to understand that too? Just appears playable in Chain of memories.
Sora casually saving the universe.
The worst is, the game's plot kept hinting towards this very moment. You hear a good deal about this in Deep Jungle. It just doesn't hit as hard yet because it was still very early in the story. Square endings used to be so bittersweet. I was happy to see Sora, Donald, and Goofy were okay in the next game.
Just imagine being there watching all the light fragments just falling, restoring a place you thought was gone forever
And BBS stated that every star is a world, so.. that cutscene has a totally new feeling after that
Didn't know disney could write smth that deep
Because it wasn't Disney, it was square enix fam
@@Yixdysquare enux was just the publisher and developer of the game. Disney had control of the story.
KH1 story was better than all the other ones
@@Dogsparkster Tetsuya Nomura is from Square
Yeah, what snickerdoodle said. tetsuya writes the story. He's from Square enix.
Respectfully, I think that’s pretty obvious to figure out. The real mystery is how Sora, Donald, and Goofy ended up in the middle of nowhere wearing casual clothes.
Thank you for this
No problem! Hope it was informative.
I truly love the ending os kh1.
I literally think about how Sora never got to eat dinner
Then they hit you with that beat
~ohhh
Hmmm so the lights are worlds reforming that’s why we get new worlds in each game?
Yes, the lights you see shooting through the sky are the worlds restoring themselves. And yes, Sora and the others do go to some of the worlds that previously disappeared. Beast’s Castle, the Land of Dragons, the Pride Lands etc.
Weird ya say that. Why is castle oblivion the next game and or place they appear in? Hmmmm
When the Door to Darkness disappeared, there was a path behind it. They followed that path and eventually ended up at Castle Oblivion.
I've honestly always skipped kh1 in my series playthroughs, so I may be wrong.. but couldn't Sora have just flown over to that piece of destiny Island that Kairi was on? To my knowledge (I haven't beaten kh1, re:com, 358, or DDD) sora or whomever the mc is (minus Terra, I guess) usually gains flight or some gliding through various means (neverland in kh1 and bbs, final form in kh2, and reaching the keyblade graveyard in kh3). Why didn't he even attempt that?
He had to find Riku and Mickey and save them
but explain to me, why did sora say that KH is light, but whats in KH is the realm of darkness.
This Kingdom Hearts consists of both light and darkness. However, Ansem believed that it only consisted of darkness. Also, this Kingdom Hearts doesn’t exist in the Realm of Darkness or the Realm of Light; it exists in the space between the door that connects the two realms, so the only way to access this Kingdom Hearts is by opening the door. That’s why Ansem and Maleficent sought to open it. If this Kingdom Hearts existed in the Realm of Darkness, then opening the door would be a waste of time because either Ansem or Maleficent could’ve just used a corridor of darkness to enter the Realm of Darkness and access this Kingdom Hearts that way.
My only problem in this ending is the big question: What happened to Selfie, Tidus and Wakka all that time? We don't ever see them again in the franchise.
Selfie is present at the beginning of KH2. Now they are teenagers and the live on the big island of Destiny Island
we know exactly what happened to them because of a conversation between Selfie and Kairi during KH2. They grew up to live the lives of what would be considered slice of life anime characters in other media.
as other comment says, we do see them in KH2
However for "What happens to them during the events of KH1" (between destiny island being destroyed and restored) they were just "dead", like all people from all the destroyed world that didn't make it to traverse town, they vanished in darkness only to get restored at the end with their original world
@@MrMordethrhedan it would be better to say sleeping instead of straight up dead, since that's supposed to be what happens when worlds fall to darkness if you don't somehow make it off the world.
Nomura somewhat answered this in an interview. He stated that time was stopped for everyone who was still on Destiny Islands when it disappeared. When the world was restored, they all came back. So, they were essentially in a state of suspension. We can assume this to be the case for all the other worlds that disappeared and returned as well.
No, I understand why Rico and King Mickey couldn’t return home, but why wasn’t Donald, Goofy, and sora able to?
It’s because they were standing on the End of the World. When they first arrived there, it was stated in the game, as well as in the KH I ultimania, that it was unclear what would happen to them, because defeating Ansem would cause the End of the World to disappear.
They had to find Riku and Mickey
Still think it should have been called "the end of all worlds" rather than " the end of the world" because that doesn't make Sense
i thought he said final mid
Calling it "Kingdom hearts final mix" sounds bizarre. Can u just call it Kingdom hearts. .
