- The Elantra is redesigned for 2021 and Hyundai wants to raise the compact sedan bar. On the outside you will notice a larger Elantra with all new bodywork, wheels, and LED lighting. On the inside you will be greeted to a very spacious cabin, new infotainment system, and digital gauge cluster. Under the hood is a 2.0L inline-4 producing 147HP & mated to a CVT. Is the 2021 Hyundai Elantra the perfect compact sedan or missing something?

This one has the premium package not just convenience package. I have the exact car $22k on the road. Great value!
Got mine recently and so far it's been an absolute blast. Went from a 2016 accent to the Elantra Limited. If your just wanting a normal commuter car it's been perfect for that, if you want sporty it's not going to fulfill that. Wait for the 2022 Elantra N
Great review!! Got a black one for my 21yr old daughter in April and she loves it. It's pretty perfect for her, Good safety features and options for the price...never even have to take the key out her purse & routine maintenance is included. Couldn't be happier!
The Elantra is the best bang for your buck and with that warranty you can't beat it 👍
I've had my Elantra SEL since December 2020 and I couldn't be happier. I would definitely recommend it for a daily driver

I’ve had mine since march 2021 SEL WITHOUT connivence package and not many complaints besides the back seat kinda sucks for passengers it’s just very boring but yeah it can keep up in terms of speed with most cars you wanna race lol

This is actually the SEL Premium Pkg. Which share some features as the Limited like a sunroof, power seats, and Bose audio system. The Convenience Pkg sits below the Premium Pkg. Overall, great review! I'm highly thinking about trading my 2017 Elantra in for the new Elantra Limited. Gotta have that 10.25 inch screen and 64 different ambient lighting. It will make me feel like I'm at a night club! And the Tech! The most technical advanced compact car I ever seen.
The new elantra limited is a sweet deal. Even better is the sonata limited

Great presentation as always, really nice car for the money and average daily use.
my hybrid limited trim with around 2k miles has an overall average of 59mpg
also the phantom black color does a good job of adding a bit of subtlety to the side lines, making the overall look more sleek, and less sharp.

@@Aoendkth-nv7au the test drive when pretty well they let me drive in for a day or so. Gas mileage was a alot better then my truck. Only thing is gravel the ride is scary. Any little movement of the steering wheel would cause the back end to fish tail slightly. I live in the midwest so I'm kinda worried about winter driving
I've got this car in Lava Orange limited trim. Beautiful car, I turn back everytime I pass it at work. The technology in this car is the best and I'm averaging 33 mpg in the city alone. Definitely got my eye on the N model cause that thing looks like a beast!

Great review. Joe, to be corrected its an 2021 Hyundai Elantra SEL Premium Package not Convenience Package. The Convenience Package does not come with 17" Inch Alloy Wheels Its standard with 16" Inch Black Rims.
Also the dark grille accents, the power seat, and the power sunroof are exclusive to the premium package as well

I would love a 2018 Elantra exterior and a 2020 Elantra interior
2018 was the best Elantra exterior. I hate that manufacturers always feel like they have to have new designs for the sake of new designs and change when they have a perfectly handsome design.
Hyundai comes out with new design every couple of years, crushing resale values along the way. Not good!
VERY interested in using the Elantra N manual as a daily.
2017 is much nicer inside out! I love my 2017 Elantra!
Why I like it more?
I love the analog instruments and the infotainment build in. Not that ugly tablets, which looks like afterthought. What is the nonsense small tablet on the left side. Space filler?
Body of the 2017 Elantra looks better from any side, see the back door on 2017 Elantra. The door is longer pointing up with that small window. That's nice! On 2021/22 was that smaller back door just decorated with distraction triangle combo.

@@topend162 Manual heated seats. Hyundai still lets you build a 21 online. The SEL Convenience package is the sweet spot to me.

I have an Elantra and I consistently average 40-45 mpg during normal driving and up to 50 mpg on highway drives.

@@Aoendkth-nv7au I wish I were lying, I have averaged 40.2 mpg in 3300 miles. And I've let the car idle a few times for far too long (would be higher). Every drive to work (average 40-50 mph, back roads, no highways really), I get 45-49 mpg. It's crazy. I also leave it at 1300-1600 rpm entire drive. (no crazy accelerations)

What the new Elantra is missing is a hatchback version. I would absolutely kill for an Elantra Hatchback N-Line.

Wouldn’t make sense in my opinion.. the back of this car is an absolute killer. To mask that with a hatchback design would be self sabotage.
They had it for 2019 and 2020. I found a used manual blue 2019 with 23K. No bargain as they are really rare, but what a fantastic car. And much better looking IMO and more practical than the sedan. Look for used--probably easier to find one with CVT. Hyundai has given up on the hatch for North America. Really amazing since it blew away the competition. Maybe with enough noise they'll consider bringing it back. It is very popular in Europe.
Im in the market for this vehicle... my only concern really is that handle bar on the passenger side.. i frequently have bigger size passengers and I fear thats going to impact leg room severely. Any opinions? Thx

I have one of these, and I recommend driving before judging. They are one of the best CVT's in the business.

Joe you forgot to mention the smart cruise control!! Which basically gives you highway driving assist !!! This baby damn near drives itself. Hyundai for the win. Hondas warranty is poop
I was in a friend’s Honda Civic sport.. I sat in the back and had a bottle of water.. went to use the arm rest/ cup holder.. oh wait they don’t have that.. not even cup holders.. that was disappointing..

Bought the Mazda 3 Hatch w/ the Premium Trim Polymetal Gray w/ red leather. 6 Speed no CVT... Raiti's rides are the best.

My Limited is almost perfect…..my only gripe is I wish it had more horsepower, but I’ve been averaging 51mpg on road trips and I’ll never complain about that!

The only EU countries to get the Elantra are Poland and Romania.
But EU countries mostly get the i30.
For all interested buyers beware of the wireless apple car play. The head unit keeps loosing connection to the phone. I currently owned my Elantra for two months took it to a dealer 5 times and they say its apples fault. This is a known issue and its well documented issue based on all the forum posts.
Can you still connect to Carplay with a cable or is it only wireless?
