    Thank you so much for all these tips you make me look good in each project that I attempt. Also I wanted to mention how beautiful your nails look. What is that color it is lovely. Please continue to give us these wonderful lessons in knitting. You are the reason why I am knitting today .I took this up a year ago and I am enjoying myself very much & it calms me. Having a daughter with stage 4 breast cancer and a mother that just passed away from lung and brain cancer, this has helped me keep centered and calm.

    Hi nice , i hope i will get an answer to this as it is urgent. What you have shown is make one on knit side. If i have to make one on the wrong side how should i?

  • @SpiralBreeze
    @SpiralBreeze 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    So this is a left leaning make one? But if it's not for shaping, we should use this one. Sounds good!

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Spiral Breeze it's a general increase. If you're doing a full fashion shaping increase, then you could put the sting on the left handed needle from back to front. Then knit through the front leg.

    Hello! Thank you for this video! I have a question, if anyone can help me with this I would be sooo grateful! I am knitting a sleeve on DPNS and it says "K1, inc 1, knit to penultimate stitch, increase in this stitch, k1" so I did what you've instructed but in the first increase I have a hole in my work! Why? I haven't done a YO so it's not that! What does back to back knitting mean? Thank you!!!

  • @noradavid8275
    @noradavid8275 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can I use this type of increase on a bat wing sleeve instead of casting on stitches. The cast on increases result in a jaggery edge which makes it hard to seam up neatly.

    My instructions say to make a m1 I need to pick up the loop between stitches and the loop on th left needle. Then she says knit in front and back. I’m guessing she means through both loops. I’ve never heard of this before. Can you explain this to me?

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My guess is it is sort of a combo of a make1 and a knit front and back, but that will increase two stitches. Is that the intent of the design?

    • @rosemason2071
      @rosemason2071 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought I deleted this. I think what confused me was what she said about picking up the next stitch and putting them both back on the left needle. After reading it several times I realized she was saying to make one normally. Thank you for your reply. I just didn’t understand her wording. Thank you for your video also

    I almost did this right. I knitted through the front instead of the back. Now I have a hole in my knitting. Will that unravel? I don't want to have to back up, tooooo far. Please someone answer.

    • @MarlyBird

      It will not unravel. If you are okay with the hole then you don't have to rip back.

  • @horrorghoul
    @horrorghoul 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    My stupid pattern is cast on, knit 1, m1 so I don't have a good break and I keep losing the stupid yarn and getting messed up.

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh I hate that! If it won't mess up your pattern, maybe start off with a kfb instead then jump into the M1?

    • @shayesweeney
      @shayesweeney 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am having this same problem! In my pattern, the very first row after casting on 7 stitches is k6, m1, knit one. So should I try for a kfb to get started?
