On the quickcast thing, you were supposed to enable "Quickcast On Key Down" in the advanced options

Quillspray autocast would always be the comfortable option but it wouldn't ALWAYS be the optimal choice.
Sometimes you want to get in range before you release quillspray, also ranged enemies could play around autocast quillspray cooldown to get free hits on you.

I think in regards of the quick cast, why people are getting so riled up about it, is because in League of Legends, at least back when I used to play it alot, quick cast basically made it that well, in your example, your E would be cast at where your mouse is at, rather than clicking E and then clicking an area. And might be that people are mixing it up or might be that Dota quick cast works differently. Or it can be that I'm completely wrong and don't listen to me I'm stoopid.

in lol you can either set quickcast on button press OR release- button press is generally faster, release will give you info about aoe etc. I think that vector based spells such as Viktor's e or Rumble's ult works differently- press will lock starting point, you drag in direction vector should go and then release button to cast spell. Aren't dota multicast also press or release?

Nah in Dota quick cast works the same way, that is, if you press E while the mouse is within cast range, you will cast the E exactly where it was pointed. I am kind of stumped how he was still having to click on the ground (the spell cast radius showed each time which is why you can tell its not on, in case you are curious).
I am kind of stumped that's the case as he clearly showed E being on quick cast, maybe there is another setting he needs to click (cant remember as its been many many years since I initially switched it on and since then i havent turned it off).

I also think that autocasting quill spray (apart from the player having to do boring gameplay) would mean that you gain warpath stacks with literally zero effort, which feels weird/unfair

I don't know why but my quickcast settings are different than yours. For example if i had the napalm, my quickcast settings makes me cast it immediately without clicking it again (without showing the area). And it works for all my aoe abilities (arena, od ulti etc)

I suggest for the music of your game is to have lofi vibe kind of music since it's a puzzle game. Something like a "pass the time" kind of vibe.

The real answer is that Bloodlust can be autocast because it was autocast in WC3 and that got inherited by Dota1.

because it has a resource it needs to be able to be cast (mana), if not it would totally overpowered with the power it has now. You could make it an aura, but there is heartstopper allready.
if you make it autocast you cant argue for the manacost or the power it has now, which is a significant factor of strategy in higher skilllevel matches.

Bloodlust can autocast cuz warcraft 3 base game which is an rts has that ability autocastable (buy a few warlocks n they autobuff the team during battle)
