Yes, I highly recommend this game. I’ve easily put 250 hours into it without even realizing it. It’s not for everyone, but if it looks like something you might be into it can be addicting.
This game seems like one that I’d really enjoy! I think I’m gonna dive into it at some point this upcoming week lmao, all of you guys have been giving overwhelmingly positive reviews of the game in it’s current state so i gotta try
I definitely recommend this game, and at this point in the game's lifespan, the added features explained in this video feels like only half of what's in the game now!
I have been there since launch day. They have grown the game so much and a video like this brings tears to my eyes. No Man's Sky is their baby, of course they are going to see it all the way through. And we, the players, got to see it grow up and mature.
The fact he had all that hate and negativity rerouted to his personal devices is just mental. And it was worth it because now the game is great and my favourite VR experience to date.
This very video of his is the main reason I purchased the game, and oh boy I do NOT regret it. It is GREAT, and they still keep adding updates even to this day! You can own animals and have them go along with you, own a freighter, and even find a random settlement and they will crown you as a landlord if you help them, and many more. And again, they are still giving.
I bought the game after watching this video, about a week ago. I already have 85 hours in it and counting. It's an incredible & fun game, definitely recommend it. They have had like 20 more updates since this video! Edit: I also bought it for two friends lol and they're liking it just as much!
oh damn, I think this is absolutely one that I'm going to end up playing! Seems like you and everyone else is unanimously really enjoying it hahah so I don't wanna miss the boat
Totally agree with you, for me Sean is a fucking champion. I'm also a software engineer and a bit frustrated for not having a story like Sean's, I wish I had the guts the had to do the same, failing, or succeding. I LOVE NO MAN'S SKY! After 200 hours playing I still love it! That's absurd because I don't feel like playing games anymore, ever since I've became senior at software engineer and started finding games boring. Now when I look at a game, I feel like I am watching a magician to perform a magic that I already know how to to, so for others it's like Wow!! And for me it's like: yah yah, he's just hiding the card in the middle of his fingers. But what makes NMS amazing to me is that it can surprise even the developers let alone me. And the fact that they launch one major update EVERY 3 to FUCKING 5 months for FREE! What are they living of? How do they eat and pay bills? And they are constantly bug fixing the game! I don't just love NMS, I love Hello Games too, and Sean is my goal! I love what he did, I bought the game on pre-release, I was following their updates on twitter and everywhere ever since they launch the first trailer and I keep following them to get the news about each new update first and jump in to try it
@@Greywander87 he shouted out the video on his twitter (linked it and everything), but in the same tweet he said to stop watching at like 40 mins or whenever the fan fic starts lol
@@zeallust8542 I can only imagine how embarrassing the fanfic part must have been. But it's just so over the top that you can't really take it seriously. The video seems to do a good job of showing both sides of what went down. Sean is one of the few people who saw things from the side of Hello Games first, so seeing how it looked to people from the outside I'm sure helped give context to how severe the backlash was.
@@Greywander87 Yeah, I do love that this video shows both sides. I doubt Sean ever wanted or intended to release a broken game or make "promises" he couldnt keep. Its years and years later and we are still getting *free* big updates for the game. And its become one of my favorite survival games (tho at the point im at, its not really much of a survival game anymore lol) The last big update was literally last week. We can finally be space pirates. Im also sure Sean already understood the consumer backlash, he doesnt seem like the type that wouldnt be aware of how it looked from the outside.
It's not exactly my type of game, but after seeing everything they'd done to make things right, I bought it just to show support for a studio taking responsibility and acting ethically. That's becoming rare... I hope No Man's Sky becomes the most successful game ever, to show the AAA ghouls that no, you don't need to screw people over to make your precious profits.
yeah it seems to be exceedingly rare to have a large studio develop a game with the intention of it being as good of an experience as possible, in turn causing the game to be a large success just based on the merit of the game
I will most definitely watch you reacting to anything I like to watch tbh like anything with IH in it, his Storymode channel, for instance. People don't really understand this stuff so I gotta appreciate what few uploaders I can find that are enjoyable, and you're there for me bud Really hope more of this is to come
I really appreciate your kind words Ursa!! I've had to step away for a couple of months to deal with some things IRL but I'll be back next week! First vid back is gonna be the latest IH video
First off, I really like how you do reactions. Some people pause and just ramble on for entirely too long, to the point where it feels like they barely even really watch the video. Some others don't talk at all and contribute nothing. You though, have a good balance. You pause a lot and talk, but you're not pausing for so long that it gets boring or you miss something. As far as NMS goes. It's 2024, and it's STILL getting regular massive updates. They haven't slowed down since this Internet Historian video came out. We got a big update a month or two ago. It even got a surprisingly good Switch port in late 2023. The game is a ton of fun, and I definitely recommend giving it a shot.
And now the game is coming to Switch in a few weeks and still gets regular content updates. I have over 1000 hours put into it. Great reaction! I do highly recommend it!
its always worth watching reaction to this video, especially to *the last part*, reactions to "that" always cracks me up lol. btw, i had preordered game, like half year before release , played for like month plus only it until i burned out. then laid it for some time untill major new patch cames, play some, lay it down again due to still not being recovered from burning out, another major patch comes, play some more, laid down again, repeat. and i regretably missed out when first 4 expeditions came, even missed out redux runs of them (reruns). actualy it was my first purchase on new (for me) storefront - GOG. game was good - for me. even at release, probably due to : A) not trusting second hand sources or journalist talking/writing what they think Sean meant when said X. i only took what was said by him or what was shown by him, not some outside source hat may or may not embellish or straight make stuff up. also not hoping it would be better than shown, most stuff show was way before release, things might change , stuff might seam do-able then but appear to dificult to pull of later down the line. trailers for stuff usualy tend to make things look better than they are or be - that simply a trader thing, you want your stuff look better. and B) i didn't had much issues, just few bugs, like i dug resource deposit completely and some soil under it then returned to that location the deposit was back but soil under it was not so after digging it again by doing vertical shaft in middle i eventuly fell thru bottom of deposit to pit under it, and had not good enough jetpack to fly up back AND didn't have resource to fuel digging tool. and probably few other issues i don't remember now.

I don't know if "we expect the game to be hyper polished" after like 6 weeks of delay is an acceptable response at all, the appropriate response is "oh well, i guess they need like a smidge of extra time" but it is as good as it could be at the time, after that the consumer became more knowledgeable in what goes into developing a game and the horrible conditions they go through because there's a deadline that executives won't move, like, we rather the game come out later than having some people literally developing PTSD and having to retire from the videogame industry
Great content as always, also if we're into long videos, you should check out "Why Does Spec Ops the Line Work and Last of Us 2 Doesn't?" from TheAlmightyLoli, it's 53 minutes but it's such a piece of wonderful video and thought provoking, also it works as a recommendation for Spec Ops The Line Edit: I should add that obviously it has lots of spoilers and i can't speak for others so if you don't want to deal with it, play Spec Ops The Line, it's a shooter and it shouldn't take too long but the scenes and dialogues will always stick to you, in a good and traumatic way.
Hey FrameOne, just found your channel not too long ago and I like what you do. No Man's Sky is an incredible redemption story, but could you believe another game that came out 6 years before NMS also has an incredible redemption story?
