    i love the bike. i got my Z800 8 months ago. but the weight... it took me some time to get use to it in the city traffic, you really feel the weight of the bike in low speeds. but on the open road you don't feet it at all and the bike feels solid on the road as well.

    Looking at a naked as my next bike and this and the FZ-09 come to mind. I think that I am going to go for the Yamaha just due to the less weight.

    I can't wait to see how this does against the FZ-07/FZ-09. They seem like very similar bikes, but I gotta give the Kawasaki the win for looks. It looks great

    Would have liked to see radial mount brakes on this bike, especially since the Monster 821, FZ-09 & Street Triple R all have them. Also, Kawasaki had them on the 2004 ZX-10R so you would have thought the technology would have trickled down to cheaper models by now.

    Please, correct your webpage, who in right mind puts a video on main page that starts by itself and by your own mistake cannot be stopped?

    Really debating on this bike. The limited color choice is what's holding me back though. It is a looker. Has a great available PUIG windshield. And narrow enough to fit through the door so it wouldn't get stolen like my Ninja 650 was.
    On the other hand I have found a 2013 Ninja 1000 with ~four hundred and fifty miles on it for slightly less. But being a rider that is regularly in rain and snow every year I think the 1000 might be excessive since it doesn't have power modes or TCS.
    Decisions, decisions.

    as a video idea, this may sound quite silly but i will still say it, a budget "set up", so a full set of protective clothing for various budgets, basically your best for the price gear if you get what i mean

    My 2012 Z1000 factory curb weight is 481 lbs. and the newer Z1000 weight is 487 lbs. (bigger gas tank). I think a serious weight reduction would be a must with this smaller Z800 with its' stout weight of 509 lbs, 108.9 hp and 61.2 ft lbs of torque.
    Yamaha 2013 FZ-09 weight is 414 wet with 115 hp and 65 ft lbs of torque on paper looks much better. Price and reliability? Who knows?

    Good looking bike! I find it interesting that it splits the displacement of the Yamaha bikes.

      +giff74 I was gonna say the same thing. Which bike will they pit it against? The FZ07 or FZ09... I wonder.

      @Daniel-gb9ex 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +BadShadd1 It's closer to the MT09 in both power and displacement (MT07- 689cc 74hp, Z800 - 806cc 113hp, MT09 - 847cc 115hp)

      Daniel S the Mt=fz in the state... What I don't understand is if u have a bike with fz07 689cc how an y does it only have 74hp?the z800 806cc 113hp? The fz09 847cc 115hp? It doesn't seem to make sense the z800 I understand the HP cause of the weight but because its so heavy u need more HP than that!! But to me I guess I was always thinking in dirt bike term's cc to HP... But can someone explain how the fz07 has so much cc an not much HP? And the fz09 have less cc and more hp?

  • @stevemack389sm
    @stevemack389sm 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    but it does look good and the HP is 111 that's low aswell.....so for me I'd go for the fz09 or z1000

      +BIKES BLADES/GUN'S Not exactly low, but for the weight not impressive for sure. Might also include the Speed Triple, or the S1000R in the mix. More $$$, but fantastic motorcycles.

    509 lbs? Holy shit. It's as heavy as a Multistrada. Pass!

    • @fpvgearhead5034
      @fpvgearhead5034 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +aluisious The Z1000 is 485lbs wet WTF?

    • @aluisious
      @aluisious 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aluminum frame.
      Even then, Ducati figures out how to make a steel trellis frame with a 1200cc twin, a fairing, a single sided swingarm, a touring subframe, and more electronics than the Apollo Project for the same weight. 500 pounds for this can pound sand.

    • @Robborboy
      @Robborboy 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +aluisious Well when you're paying almost 2x for said Ducati, even with a steel frame it is going to have more R&D in it to keep weight down. Immediately the single sided swing arm comes to mind. I imagine the trellis frame saves weightover this semi-twin spar.
      Further more it is also a twin so less mass in engine block, cylinders, and exhaust.

    • @aluisious
      @aluisious 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      You might not realize a single sided swingarm is heavier. They have to be built with a lot of material to keep from flexing. They're mostly a bling item.
      Also, the twin is a weight penalty, not an advantage. I thought of this after my comment, I didn't specify V twin, though of course that's what the Ducati is. A parallel twin would have an advantage, but a V twin has two cylinder blocks, two valve trains, etc etc. And the Ducati is still much lighter, because they're shaving off pounds everywhere else they can while Kawi is taking an economy approach to this.
      A better comparison is the Monster 821 to this bike. The Monster is 50 pounds lighter, but similarly sized, same segment, etc. Still lighter with the V twin and a steel trellis. And it's only $11k, which is what, $2500 more than this?

    Chip peace of crap! Heavy, mechanically outdated, leaking personality, simply the worst. Those side frame bars for "reinforcement" purposes will make any service required a total pain in the ass, and shouldn't you forget the leaking engines of Kawafucky, especially when talking about budget models like this disaster. If the money matter, I'd prefer Yamaha's MT09, which is a way much better and fun to ride!
