The head design and face nothing beat the z 800 ,. ... look like Megatron face...such a beautiful beast
I ride the fz8. Why is it old? It handles crisp. Best build quality, low rev power and best frame and swing
Bit late to the Party but same.
im sorry but those lights on the triple R are hideous
Looks the best has to be the z800
Amazing quality, good work. Appreciated guys.
Good effort on getting out there in that weather!
Thankyou, thankyou MCN.
I do love it. Brilliant machine.
I think these middle weight models are actually the ideal bikes. I have a current model Z1000 and it's actually too powerful. I can never use full throttle in first and even second gears because it wheelies. A Z800 might be more fun because you can use all of its power all the time. Then again, I do love having more power than I need. One just needs to be more careful that's all.
so true
Is the guy from the suzuki Samuel Tarley? Brother of the watch?
Hey, the 675 motor is a brilliant motor...I love mine.
Great bikes, loving the Street Triple. Just one question guys, are the helmets custom made, or is there any chance I can find those designs in a store or online?
mv brutale800 for me, thank you
nice video
Great reviews on Naked bikes that I'm looking to buy! the Z1000 is a bit too expensive, its a shame about the triumphs weird headlights
Will you guys make one more test in normal circumstances?
I just don't know which one of these to buy :S
5:16 what is the model of that Arai Helmet?
Thanks for the road test. Just one doubt, where is Ducati Monster 796?
i love gsr 750😍
Things that go vroom...
I was not wrong with the Streeple R choice. Indeed, it is all that gooood :-) Can't wait for the end of the break in...
wich of these bikes do you recommend for a rider with clutch control and street experience ( im riding my 2nd season on a 50cc street bike )?
Get a FZ-09
Why?
MrHockey282 Superb engine, good design, at a bargain price, you won't regret it super fun bike
go for an aprilia shiver 750,great fun easy to ride and sounds awesome.
i ended up getting a ktm smc r 690 haha
The Brutale is too powerful and expensive for this test, matey. All these bikes have almost the same power and cost around the same, except for the Brutale 675. Thanks for watching. Neevesy. MCN.
put the old z750 next to the z800 and you tell me what parts of the chassis look alike? same with the STR
I really would have liked to see how the new 2013 Yamaha FZ8 faired. No pun intended. I have a 2011, and I can atest the suspension holds this bike back the most. The weight at 475lbs wet is also a cavet. I test rode a 2012 Street Triple R, and LOVED it. 400lbs, fully adjustable suspension, that is on par with a super sport. yeah, a 2013 street triple R is in the works.
The Mv augusta looks and sounds awesome.Very lightweight with great handling and brembo brakes.Remember to put the bike in sport mode lads, throttle response and performance is fantastic.More hard core streetbike than the other 3 bikes.Yes the STR is a good all rounder for novices to exp riders, but stood next to the MV no contest.
"Road test" More like we sit down and talk about the weather.
if you were to pick up ANY motorcycle magazine in the shops, you would read that the Street triple is just the absolute best in it's class. The new model is just even better. I was kind of doubtful too at first, until i test rode one. It just IS that good.
Do a review on the old 400cc sports! When they gonna make a new line of Pocket Rockets??
=)
Please redo this test in the spring/summer when you can properly test how the bikes feel and perform the way we want to ride them
Who knows... I love my GSR and think it's the best out of the groups for it's purpose. Hope you love yours too...
Thanks but at this time Honda is the only one making a Naked 600... every other brand has the 800, 750, 675, so if we think about that the Hornet is alone, and its not on it's own category alone, it should be included in this one despite not beeing middlewight.. But I get your point..
...is there an SX version of the Z800 on it's way?
How can a bike that only came out 2011 be showing it's age?? i just bought the GSR750, waiting for delivery.
Just picked up my Z800. Fucking love it. I didn't want a street triple because they are everywhere...
Guerrilla advertising of Kreiga Backpacks going on there...
well looks like im sticking with Kawasaki for my next bike. Love the look of the z800.
The Z1000 is awesome, tons of grunt, great handling and brakes. Ride one :)
+elfspicer shitty handling. like, seriously, everything you said about the z1000 is correct except for the handling. its absolute shit.
I did and actually talked myself up to the Ducati Streetfighter S instead. What can I say, I like big torque and I cannot lie. That said they're really all great bikes. No matter which one you pick it's a winner.
Kawasaki had a ninja 400 that was a 650 with a sleve, but it was'nt released world wide. I agree with you would be nice to see a return of the pocket rockets, and the 2 stroke sports make a come back also.
I was thinking more of the Aprilia SL750 Shiver. ( I have one) Like the MV it is ride by wire & has the Mapping.
The GSR 750 has been around since "a few years" ? Didn't it came out 2012? LAST year?
GSR 750 ans street triple are the best from far
And I'm going to receive mine in two months !
since all of the bikes are around 800cc, shouldn't the brutale also tested with the 800cc version?
they say that about the TRIED TESTED and TRUE bikes, and congratz
The Aprilia Tuono is a 1000cc and I agree where is the Streetfighter 800?
That's because the Street Triple is in a class of its own. No comparison.
Thats exactly my point. If the normal street triple wins the comparison which bike can compare with the Street Triple R. There is a non Euro comparison here in youtube that compared the Ducati SF848 and they said the Triumph STR is a better bike. I've ridden these two bikes back to back and I agree with them.
I've got to wonder if the MV was ridden and tuned with more serious sport-riding intent, and by more serious warm-weather riders, to where it would more than make up for the small throttle inputs these guys were using around ice, or even offer newer and better characteristics when kept in a hyper-RPM range? I am very wary of traditional motorcyclists calling things 'bad' after finding unique motorcycle set-ups that work very, very well, but that are berated by those not used to them.
I live in Romania ( east Europe ) lol, not America .And my old Z1000 ( 2006 ) has only 198 KG , not 218 like the new models. And even the chassis is a little smaller .That what I said the diference are not big.
And it hadles incredible well. Ride safe too !
too bad that no triumph dealer in my country. if the gsr750 has more adjustability on the forks and shock, i would buy it too.
They win tests around the globe. Haven't ridden one but I suppose that the aspect of exoticism moves in as well. ;)
now to see this review with the mv brutle 800 ....
et le monster 796 ?
i guess in america people dont know how to ride twisting roads so power is all you need. But power isn't everything in europe. Your bike is so much heavier than these bikes and MCN Michael Neeves even said that under 160 kph the new street triple is better and more fun to ride than the heavier and more powerful speed triple. Handling is why i love riding, you love sheer power more as you only go in a straight line, so good for you. Enjoy riding, and ride safe my friend.
Where the heck did you saw 27 liter tank on Zed mate?:))
Mine is even lighter then that 198, is not stock.
me too...ahah!great bike!
Good for you comparing v2 675 CC with v4 1000 CC .. that's genious work :)) .. .try comparing v2 1050 Speed Triple with your Kawa z1000 and see where it gets you :))
kawasaki had a project to improve the Z750 with the rear bumper making it (R) zx6r i dont understand why she stopped making so fast this super naked
That would be the perfect all-around bike! I didn´t go for the Z1000SX, because it was just plain scary for me, being a beginner, but my Z750R is definitely missing touring capabilities in terms of luggage and maybe an adjustable screen.. With that being said, for my taste the Z750 and Z800 are too heavy for throwing them around in the Alps, for example. Almist every Streety owner went for that one because it´s so much more nimble and effortless to turn compared to the Kawa Z´s...
Would have loved to see the Ducati Monsters (696/795s), the BMW F800R and the KTM Duke 690 in the comparison. In fact, the Triple is definitely one of my favorites- along with the Monster and the single mill Duke and want to see how they compare with each other. Everyone has commented on the scratchy fueling of MVs in lower revs so I dont doubt that. And the Z800 is definitely the most competitive Japanese naked of them all- the others are too bland, in styling or performance.
It's like the R6 - a model that hasn't been revised just upgraded.
No Monster??
can't remember it not winning in other channels too...
Time will tell if Neevesy will compare both bikes. Ride both bikes yourself and see which one is better, which I did and to be honest with you I like the Triumph STR better. So far these reviews are spot on which I usually take it for a grain of salt. I am still undecided which one I want in my garage but so far the STR is winning me over.
The Ducati has 60 vs 44 lb/ft of torque. That's hard to overcome from my POV. That said, change those Dame Edna headlights and put the brembo and the ohlins from the Triumph 675R on the triple and suddenly I'm more interested. With all the love that Neevesy dotes over the Duc in other videos, I'd like to have him say that the Street Triple is the better bike. Maybe he left it out so he wouldn't have to.
look there's Moby from Fast Bikes! or Richard from MCN as he's called now.
I have owned the z800 for a month now and it really is a fantastic bike and looks evil
Do you still have it and were you satisfied?
@@bruderrudiger9574 no I no longer have it but it was a superb bike and so much fun to ride. I actually miss it and would recommend to anyone.
@@chrismurray3198 I bought one with 2700Km on it and only have problems with it. How many km did you put on it?
@@bruderrudiger9574 I purchased new and but 12k miles on it. Never has one issue with mine
I think the MV looks the best. Then the kawi, then the street. I've never ridden any of these bikes but if I was buying one right now, it would be the street, just because I've seen a million reviews on it and nothing bad has ever been said about it.
And where comes ducati's the Street Fighter, the Monster and Ktm's 690 Duke R between these bikes in these video??
Still can't decide whether I like the Z800 or the Street Triple better
+Vitaly Kutuzov How about now?
Foxy Moto Neither, actually- I think I'm going for an MV Agusta Brutale, or a BMW S1000R- haven't decided yet!
+Vitaly Kutuzov Ya, more power is tempting!
How about now?
rockafella1690 Definitely the Street Triple!
We are Arai, and we approve this message.
i want to see the ktm 690 duke in this comparison.
The Street Triple is also 675cc.
I ride a Z1000 from first generation (2006 ) and I would not change it for any of those, exactly cose the diference are almost zero, in power , handling etc. I dont care if the old chasis was steel, new is aluminium, or the geometry is little diferent, as long as a total is the same bike, weights the same, has the same speed etc etc etc
This are stree naked sport bikes, not supersport or for competition to care so much about performance lmao.
I use the Z1000 as a touring bike and is great:))
these MCS buggers always, always pick the Triumph. I've had both Street Triple and Z1000. There is no comparison, Z1000 is absolutely better.
Where is the Hornet??
Booooom the street triple takes it againnnn :)
Hi MCN, you're on the right way, but only the veredict is not enough. Please, get a in-built helmet microphone and while testing, try to show how the bike make you feel, the acceleration, the braking and put it in our perspective, not only words. Otherwise we would just google a text review. Like top gear or "chris harris on cars", you need to extract emotions from the riding and you could have a million views from your ride tests. Anyway, best of luck guys, and your team of riders seem great
The z800 has got to be one of the best looking nakeds
Why isn't there a Hornet on the review? One of the most known naked bikes and not on this kind of review? Bah...
Have u ever rided the old z1000 ?
Old z1000 ..0..100 something under 3 sec. Tops like 260+ Torque 100 nm, power 127HP. And handling is superb. How the heck this are better cose all numbers on this are lower?:)) And BTW , old Z1000 engine and gears is the same as the one from the previous liter ninja, 4 sure si a verry good engine.IT has so much torgue it pulls hard in any gear ur in at any speed.
PS : we have no tracks here lmao, and road are damn streight.
Where's the Ducati sf848 that Michael raved so much about ?
BUT!
@BarryEssex ride one and you'll see why!
Well it would do wouldn't it! no surprises in German bike tests then!
Monster does have Liquid cooling system so it cant compare to these bike. if you want Ducati to join it must be Street Fighter 848.
Barely could understand what the guy with glasses said... =(
Where is the Ducati Streetfighter 848 here?
No f800r? If you run a test like this do the full range of middleweight naked bikes
No matter, in german bike-tests the BMW wins always ;)
In the RL world the most important is the rider....:)
i don't care about the mv augusta or the speed triple. I am sure it looks nice, but it feels like a toy bike under a taller rider.
I am looking forward to the new FZ8, or maybe even getting the old one cheaper and fixing the suspension.
i guess they put the z800, yamaha and the mv in the wrong places:
the yamaha should be 2nd! it is very user friendly, while the mv is really hard to ride and the z800 has a massive weight going down the corners
there is another non brit production here in youtube tested the SF848 vs the 2013 Street Triple R and they liked both bikes but the Street Triple R edged out the SF848.
or the streetfighter 848
Also, unless you are exactly 150 lbs, forget the street triple because you're going to spend money on getting it re-sprung.
I don't believe a good test could be carried out in these conditions! IMHO
Z800 ftw!!!
Its like when topgear tests british cars and they normally win..
