Richard's voice shows the wise and easy-going guy he was. Rest in peace, master.

This song is my all time favourite. It's everything put together makes it eargasm. Hearing the keyboard, saxophones, guitar, Richard Wrights voice, background vocals, the drums but then hearing the saxophone and guitar solo together. Oh my God that gets to me everytime. I can't explain it. I feel I'm in a different dimension. Only Pink Floyd has this effect that they know how. I can't explain it any other way.

This is one of the first albums I bought with my own money and is still one of my all time time favorites of the post-Roger Waters phase. The back up singers, Gilmours wailing guitar, and that tenor sax, it's beautiful.

From morning to night I stayed out of sight
    Didn't recognize I'd become
No more than alive I'd barely survive
    In a word... overrun
Won't hear a sound (he's curled into the corner)
From my mouth (but still the screen is flickering)
I've spent too long (with an endless stream of garbage)
On the inside out (curse the place)
My skin is cold (in a sea of random images)
To the human touch (the self-destructing animal)
This bleeding heart's (waiting for the waves)
    Not beating much (to break)
I murmured a vow of silence and now
I don't even hear when I think aloud
Extinguished by light I turn on the night
Wear its darkness with an empty smile
    I'm creeping back to life
    My nervous system all away
    I'm wearing the inside out
    Look at him now
    He's paler somehow
    But he's coming round
    He's starting to choke
It's been so long since he spoke
Well he can have the words right from my mouth
And with these words I can see
Clear through the clouds that covered me
Just give it time then speak my name
Now we can hear ourselves again
I'm holding out (he's standing on the threshold)
For the day (caught in fiery anger)
When all the clouds (and hurled into the furnace)
Have blown away (he'll curse the place)
I'm with you now (he's torn in all directions)
Can speak your name (and still the screen is flickering)
Now we can hear (waiting for the flames)
    Ourselves again (to break)

If you really want to listen to the best of Pink Floyd, listen to the pre-'85 Pink Floyd with Roger still in the band. Gilmore is good and all, but post Rogers is just not the same. Best trip I ever had was Wish You Were here full album. It grabs you, shakes you about, and soothes you when you're hurt. Just a masterpiece in every way.

    (Aos brasileiros)
    EU ESTOU ÀS AVESSAS
De manhã à noite eu fiquei fora de vista
Não percebi o que tinha me tornado
Nada mais que vivo, eu mal sobrevivo
    Em uma palavra ... ultrapassado
    Não se ouvirá um som
    (Ele está encolhido no canto)
    Da minha boca
(Mas ainda assim a tela fica piscando)
    Eu passei muito tempo
(Com um fluxo interminável de lixo)
    Às avessas
    (... Amaldiçoar o lugar)
    Minha pele está fria
(Em um mar de imagens casuais)
    Ao toque humano
    (O animal autodestrutivas)
Eu estou me arrastando de volta à vida
    Eu estou resistindo
(Ele está em pé no limiar)
    Ao dia
    (Preso numa raiva ardente)
    Quando todas as nuvens
(E arremessado dentro da fornalha ele vai)
    Foram sopradas para longe
    (... Amaldiçoar o lugar)
    Eu estou com você agora
(Ele está ferido de todas as formas)
    Posso falar seu nome
(E ainda assim a tela fica piscando)
    Agora podemos ouvir
    (Esperando as chamas pegarem)

I am 62 years old and am a sky gazer. I worked outside in Wyoming in the 1970's yearround and loved observing nature. My cousin worked in the Atmospheric Science Department, and he gave me a rudimentary appreciation of the science behind clouds. The CO2 in the atmsphere at that time was 314 ppm. Today it is 414 ppm, and there is more methane. About 10 years ago I started to notice a difference to the quality of clouds. They are much more like cotton. This video was excellent for it's beauty, but I see the changes that we have done to our planet. And I see the greed of the Western financial system to carry on with business as usual. Our governments won't let us have a Green Revolution. I think it is up to us to pressure them to make the change. I am proposing a Windyday concept, with each region trying to invest in factories to build batteries and solar panels locally. Storage is the key to making renewable energy work, and is the basis for electric vehicles. We also need to change our food supply, and in addition we need to plant more linseed and hemp since they are 7X better at carbon capture as trees. How come no Progressive politician is talking about this? We can't let China build everything for us, we have to buck it up. BTW, we should also have factories in Africa, South America, Australia and Asia outside of China. Let's stop these wars for oil.
Thanks to our western governments, there are about 50 Yemeni children that will never hear this music. And because of their BFFF the KSA, millions of people will never hear music. Period.

This version is somewhat faster than normal, as it's 7 seconds shorter. You can sense it goes slightly faster than it should.
