Just FYI. In the suburban US(specially in the time this movie was set) there was very little chance of someone breaking into your home. Even today outside of large cities and "bad neighborhoods" most of the US has very good public order. So people were pretty casual about doors and windows.
The hands of Michael Myers in the POV shot at the beginning actually belong to Debra Hill, the co writer and producer. She just happened to have the smallest hands in the crew.
"The Thing" that they were watching in this movie was the 1951 version. John Carpenter made Halloween 4 years before his remake of "The Thing". Your reaction to that movie was great by the way.
Michael Myers in Halloween was THE FIRST villain that got up after you killed him, this movie started that entire trend. Halloween started the slasher films trends, from the seventies to today. Did you ever see the Hitchcock classic "Psycho"? That was Jamie Lee's mom who got stabbed to death in that. I guess she had seen it when she was a little girl and said "Hey, I wanna do that someday!"😋
You should totally watch ReAnimator. It’s such a fun, gory, spooky, silly 80s movie perfect for Halloween. John Carpenters Halloween is a classic but ReAnimator is a “cult classic”. You’ll laugh, you’ll cringe, you’ll jump.

pre slasher movies everyone left their doors open, this was one of the films that taught people LOCK you doors.. the THING movie in Halloween is the Original black and white version that carpenter loved and then years later made the excellent THE THING, the 2nd movie playing was Forbidden Planet with Leslie Neilsen, the same guy in naked gun
The worst thing as that younger people don't realize what this was like in 1978, it was terrifying back then, plus I was a preteen when I saw it first lol
Some good Halloween scary classic movies you may not have seen and are great for halloween are: the monster squad; Creepshow; pumpkinhead; Friday the 13th; American Warewolf in London; A Nightmare on Elm Street; Hellraiser; The Company of Wolves; The Fog; Near Dark; The Return of the Living Dead; Fright Night; The Evil Dead. These are all classic 80s horror movies. I’m sure I missed a view, but these are the ones I remember. Reacting to a few of these would make for a great Halloween reaction week or month and saving the rest for another Halloween.
It’s a real testament to the frame work of the story and characters that even with some shoddy acting and minimal effects it still holds up as well as it does
We had a high school dance too after graduation, but I never went for two reasons: 1. Had no date. 2. It costed like 500 bucks to get in and since I didn't have a date, fuck it! It was a really warm summer and I was not in a mood to wear a fancy suit in the heat again 😜 This may be true from were you come from and I'm not doubting your words, but this is suppose to be a small town family neighbourhood where everbody knows everybody 😉🙂 Also, that's a Raggedy-Anne doll, not an Annabelle-doll (though you could argue that Raggedy-Anne is scary as Annabelle too I guess 😂)
What kind of high school student has $500 just lying around?! I'm English and I went to my graduation dance. I wore a bow tie, won best dressed guy there and danced with all the ladies, very closely😉😄
So about people not locking their doors... I had an internship at a county probation office and I helped with some of the juveniles as well. We had this kid who was busted for breaking into people's cars and stealing what he could find. However, "breaking into" is used loosely as he was just opening unlocked doors because some people here can't be bothered to lock their car which if your car was built in the last 15 years probably has a key fob all they'd need to do is push a button.
In the neighborhood I grew up in nobody locked their houses or cars. As a kid, you would just walk into your friend's house to see if they were there. Now that same neighborhood is a high-crime meth slums. I hate to sound like an old fogey (I'm only in my 30s) but I feel like people trusted each other more before the internet came around. The local community was more involved.
@@TenTonNuke I live in a very rural community, small enough I still probably know 90% of the people here fairly well. And there has still never been a time in my life my family would have left the house or car unlocked around here, not even 30 years ago.

All of them are great movies. Any one of them would be nice. :)
Watching this today, what stands out for me is Jamie Lee Curtis' realistic portrayal of terror. All through the 70s, there were countless damsel-in-distress flicks with women getting stabbed, raped, whatever, and there was something pretty ugly about those forgotten movies, which didn't make the victims particularly sympathetic. But this movie - strange to say - humanized the slasher flick, and most of that has to do with Curtis' performance and the way the script centers the movie around her good sense (well, "good sense" except when it comes to dispatching a real-life "boogeyman").
You should see Naked Zombie Girl. Meghan Chadeayne does a great job of realistically portraying fear without going over the top. Plus she does it mostly without dialog.
2nd recommendation: Something Wicked This Way Comes. This was a PG Disney kids movie movie from the 80s based on a Ray Bradbury book that is legitimately scary as Hell! Great performances by Jason Robards and Jonathan Price. Basically an evil carnival comes to town, grants the townspeople their deepest desire but it costs them a price.
To give you an answer to one of your irritations, there was a time that small town America didn’t lock it’s doors. Everyone knew each other and crime was low. For small town America, this movie would have been set in between time. Some people still didn’t lock their doors, and some would have started locking their doors at this time.
Girl you are now in my favorites file. I loved this video! Well done, you are as funny as hell. What's more funny is that I'm in Latin America and my spanish is not good; anyway I really enjoyed your accent, it sounds just like here.
The"mask" Micheal Myers wears is a rubber pull over mask of Captain Kirk"Star Trek",they painted white, tore off the eyebrows, and messed up the hair a little.
Believe it or not 40+ years ago in America especially in the suburbs it was quite common to leave your door unlocked even if you weren't home. Different times
You have to watch Scream, The Cabin In The Woods, You're Next, Ready Or Not, Bloodsucking Bastards, The Funhouse Massacre and Lumberjack Man. Those are some of the best horror movies to laugh at.
It was a lot of fun watching your reactions. Keep October scary! Try 'The Legend Of Hell House' 1973. It was overlooked because of 'The Exorcist' being released the same year. The movie has great atmosphere with a lot of room for reactions.
I don't think The Legend of Hell House would be good for her to watch. It's much more intense than Halloween and you can tell how visibly shaken she was from watching that. Maybe she should watch something scary but lighter. Like The Ghost Breakers starring Bob Hope.
@@trhansen3244 I loved 'The Ghost Breakers' 1940 with Bob Hope. That's a great suggestion. "The Uninvited' 1944 with Ray Milland would be suitable too. They are black and white and it's not easy to get someone of her generation to give them a try. I suggest she watch 'The Legend of Hell House' during the day. I'm a real coward and I slept with the lights off the night I watched it. She can handle it.
Awesome reaction. Love this movie and watching reactions to it lol. Love your outfit. You look so nice lol. That's why I love Halloween dressing up and watching horror and masks. I do that all year round lol. Always Halloween. Kinda like in flatliners they were fast lol. One second doing something next second leaving lol with mom right there lol. Plus kid you'd think she could push him back or deck him lol. Cool x files moment lol.
You're one of my absolute favorite reactors and I wish you so much success. You're so fully yourself and hold nothing back. You make me smile. For scary movies, I absolutely think you should do The Others, Get Out, and The Orphanage (it's in Spanish!). Can't wait for the next one!
I enjoyed your reaction. This is my second favourite movie of all time. I know you want general horror suggestions but i recommend Halloween 2 1981 which follows on the same night. (At some point i recommend Halloween 3 and 4 too, 4 in particular is really good). I need to remind myself which movies you've already reacted to before i can suggest others.
I suggest and recommend the movie Trick R Treat 2007 because it's truly about Halloween. In every way its a Anthology movie about all the rules and traditions of Halloween. Now about this movie heres some facts it was originally named The Babysitter Murders. Then some one said there was hardly any movies about Halloween. So they changed its name to Halloween and had happened on Halloween night instead. John Carpenter also intended for this to be the only one with Michael Myers in it. John Carpenter never plan to use Michael Myers ever again. Michael Myers is only in the sequel because someone at movie studio made it that way. The movie on the TV was The Thing from another World. That was the original The Thing movie fun fact that was actually. John Carpenter's TV with his copy of the movie playing on it. Its fun what one can learn by listening to audio commentaries.
@@dr.burtgummerfan439 I know right because it's literally about every thing about. Halloween from the start to finish of the movie all the rules and traditions and folklore. Unlike Halloween granted it's a scary movie. But it's basically just someone killing people on Halloween night. It has nothing to do with rules or traditions or folklore of Halloween. You can have Michael Myers kill anyone on any night and it would still work. But if you remove Halloween from Trick R Treat the entire movie falls apart the movie would not even exist.
@@dr.burtgummerfan439 Oddly enough one of my favorite parts of the movie. Is when it shows Sam in the daytime just poking a dead bird with a stick. Because it's daytime he really has no rules to enforce yet so he's just passing the time. I kinda like it because it's like what does rule Enforcer do when. They don't have an rules to enforce at that time. Then its shows him poking something with a stick because he's bored.

To give you an answer to one of your irritations, there was a time that small town America didn’t lock it’s doors. Everyone knew each other and crime was low. For small town America, this movie would have been set in between time. Some people still didn’t lock their doors, and some would have started locking their doors at this time.
Annabelle did not exist until 2014. Its a Raggedy Ann doll. Thanks for the reaction.
Your facial expressions always kill me 🤣🤣🤣
Girl you are now in my favorites file.
The most definitive classic of all. And no he slit her throat.
Halloween is a great slasher movie, but the best Halloween movie is Trick R Treat. Halloween is the "star" of that one.
Believe it or not 40+ years ago in America especially in the suburbs it was quite common to leave your door unlocked even if you weren't home. Different times
True. But as America became more diverse, it became much less safe.
Paul O'Brien: Also, high school dances were very common then. Don't know or care about now. haha
First time laughing during a horror movie. Love your funny reactions 🤣 Halloween 2 is even better than this one in my opinion.
You have to watch Scream, The Cabin In The Woods, You're Next, Ready Or Not, Bloodsucking Bastards, The Funhouse Massacre and Lumberjack Man. Those are some of the best horror movies to laugh at.
13:38 That wasn't a cigarette. It was a joint. How would it look if a police officer's daughter was caught smoking marijuana?
The majority of police are killers and rapists anyway
Man, I'm glad I don't live somewhere that you can't leave a door or window open, what a nightmare.
I know 😔
That intro though 😍
It was a lot of fun watching your reactions. Keep October scary! Try 'The Legend Of Hell House' 1973. It was overlooked because of 'The Exorcist' being released the same year. The movie has great atmosphere with a lot of room for reactions.
I don't think The Legend of Hell House would be good for her to watch. It's much more intense than Halloween and you can tell how visibly shaken she was from watching that. Maybe she should watch something scary but lighter. Like The Ghost Breakers starring Bob Hope.
The Exorcist, her favorite horror movie. Lol. She can survive The Legend Of Hell House easily.
The Legend of Hell House is one of my favourite films🙂Emeric Belasco is a very evil and twisted character
@@SamuelBlack84 Belasco was about as twisted and evil as they come. Of course, he was obviously a Democrat.
Your reactions always have such heart and soul.

Great reaction as always!. Just a side note it's my 48th birthday on guess when? October 31st!!!!👻
Wow that's so cool 🎃🎃🎃
Thank you.That means a lot to me.🕸️
In most of America at this time it was safe to not lock your doors and you trusted most all of your neighbors.
Another really interesting movie for October; not horror but scary as hell, is a movie called “Stigmata”.
You're one of my absolute favorite reactors and I wish you so much success. You're so fully yourself and hold nothing back. You make me smile. For scary movies, I absolutely think you should do The Others, Get Out, and The Orphanage (it's in Spanish!). Can't wait for the next one!
What's up., FYI the actor Jamie Lee Curtis is also one of the main actors
I loved you as Dorothy another good pick
Yessss i been waiting for this 🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯 great reaction
The thing about Michael is, he's *not* supernatural.
He's just *that crazy.*
You look so sweet until... 'Come on, I wanna see a death!' 'Take the knife and stab him!! A lotta times, not just once!' 😂 Love you reactions
I like a woman with a bloodlust😄
John Carpenter's Vampires (1998)
A Nightmare on Elm St.
This channel makes everyday Fun
...high school dances aren't a Hollywood thing. High schools in America have them every year. Prom. Homecoming. Sadie Hawkins, etc.
Trick R Treat is the best Halloween movie ever.
@@83shadow3 Yep, in Trick R Treat, Halloween is literally the star of the movie, rather than just a setting.
