Thank you so much JD for all your FANTASTIC work on the Maker Mansion . Those doors are GREAT and making them move the needle one step closer to the opening and Jimmy's Dream fulfilled . I follow you on Instagram and TH-cam..It is us the Maker community that are Honored to have your Fantastic work .
Long trip up...and a long couple of days....so glad it worked out....those FB squares really come in handy when you don't have a work table..and even if you do. The job turned out great....Great job, JD. You're one of my favorite 'teachers"....
The absolute coolest!! I can't believe I got to do this! I know how many people will want to visit this building, and I can't believe I helped make a little bit of it!!
Ah we got to listen to the Can Can but no JD and Jimmy dancing to it. Now THAT would have been entertaining! Hope you remembered to sign Jimmy's barn doors for posterity.
I've seen your video version AND Jimmy's.....what I would'a givin to be there and seen it done in person....of course I'd have helped, but seriously....sitting in the big swingin' chair with a hotdog would have rivaled any big league game!..lol
Awesome job as always; however I will never understand why people don't use pipe stands. It levels the peice, gets it off the ground, and is just so much better to work with.
Hi, I'm trying to make something similar but smaller. I'm not sure why the angle iron frame around the perimeter is shimmed out with chunks of wood. Did the wood get removed later and replaced with siding? Or was the wood left in place and the siding butted up against the wood shims? My opening is about 8' by 8'... I don't know if this design is just DiResta overkill or what. Can you provide anymore detail perhaps?
Nice build thanks for taking the time to film and edit for us. I know you're a fan of the Metabo grinders, just wandering what your thoughts are on the 6" Walters?
Thank you! I thought Walter only has a 5" grinder....either way I'm sure I'd like it... metabo and Walter are made from the same internal parts so I'm sure it'll be good
No sag, just some wiggle..... the doors aren't all that heavy.. I weigh more than the wood in the door so no sag. But they're so big they wiggle a little but it's no big deal
That was awesome JD thanks for sharing. I've been kind of curious how do you cut those 45s on that angle iron so accurately with just you're metabo? Is there a trade secret or is it just alot of experience? Thanks
Ok, the doors look Nice, but I donț see anny diagonal suport for the doors. Maybe it is not needed, or the film doesnt show it , but from experience , it is always best to ad a diagonal brace. The doors will sagg over time, If they havent already during the build. But verry good looking doors, with the raw metal and that dark wood, realy nice
And just like that JD metabo’d and welded the crap outa some barn doors with The Godfather of makers. #respect
Thanks so much Jody! Wish you could have been there with us! Such a fun build!
Finally something fabricated the right way on the so called godfather of Makers channel
David White shots fired!
awesome!!! you both will be back for the welding weekend seminars !!! love and respect to you both!
@@jimmydiresta on man! Can't wait for that!!
I watch a LOT of TH-cam videos, many different topics, but your music is BY FAR the best of them ALL. Thanks. 👍

Again, thank you very much, Tony!

It's nice to hear something pleasant to listen to instead of the hard metal noise that is usually associated with fabrication videos. Bravo!
Yeah I definitely get tired on hearing a grinder and generator running!
Shoutout to the chap who put some air into the tyre! Also quick note to the chickens who are really busy that day on the grass. Love the video!
Thanks for watching!
Great job JD!! Doors look absolutely beautiful!!!
Thank you very much!
I love it when a plan meets skill and the right tools. You deserve all the good praise coming your way bro!
Thank you very much! I'm so happy it all worked out

Thank you!
Big fan enjoy watching your videos great job
Thank you for watching!
How cool is it that you got to put a Ga. touch to one of the Godfather’s of the “maker” community’s personal bucket list projects! Way to go JD!!
The absolute coolest!! I can't believe I got to do this! I know how many people will want to visit this building, and I can't believe I helped make a little bit of it!!
As usual, awesome work.
And as a bonus another of my favourite TH-cam Makers!!!

I might have burnt my name into the frame with the welding rod stubs.... thanks for watching

Good video!
Thank you!
Awesome job as always; however I will never understand why people don't use pipe stands. It levels the peice, gets it off the ground, and is just so much better to work with.
I normally do... Jimmy didn't have any but I told him that's what he needed

Good Morning JD I see you been using the Fireball alot is it truly worth buying ?
Yes they are of you are doing any type of fabrication... I don't know what I'd do with out them now. True game changers
Nice build thanks for taking the time to film and edit for us.

@@jdbrewer6638 yup they make a "big 6" we have them at work. I'm a pipefitter in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Great work. They look heavy. Any sag there? I think someone you both know well has excellent experience tightening up doors.
No sag, just some wiggle..... the doors aren't all that heavy.. I weigh more than the wood in the door so no sag. But they're so big they wiggle a little but it's no big deal

@@jdbrewer6638 they do look great. That man door is a good idea too. Always enjoy your stuff. Keep it up.
i love your videos, and the music is the best, congrats sir......................... what kins of wood is in the door?? or is it a kind of vinyl?
It is reclaimed barn wood
what's the thickness of the angles? and width?
4" x .25"
3" x .25"
2" x .188"
That was awesome JD thanks for sharing. I've been kind of curious how do you cut those 45s on that angle iron so accurately with just you're metabo? Is there a trade secret or is it just alot of experience? Thanks
Just alot of experience! Nothing special
Thanks for watching!
What's the name of the composition in this video? It sounds like something either German or Hungarian. Maybe Strauss or Dvorak or? Bizet? Hmm.
I think strauss... I will start putting that in the info.

It can always be added on later. Thanks
Well.. The only tool you wanted to bring with you were Fireball squares.. But what about the 6" Metabo!
Hell, there's even a 210MP!
I could have survived with any grinder but I was lucky he had a metabo as well... all my favorite tools!!
Beautiful barn doors specially the door within the door! But the music just did not fit for me!!👍👍👍😎🇨🇱
