As good as you are with towing, when your expertise isn’t wanted you need to just give up. Donny and Clint wanted a yes man, a get that for me man, and a watch that I don’t get killed by traffic man. You did all that very well. Donny is the boss and he had enough with Clint not doing anything that he asked. Every time we see those 2 together on scene they disagree the whole time. You did great.
I am a professional truck driver and equipment operator with lots of hauling experience, but limited emergency recovery experience. I am a major fan of some other towing/recovery channels on TH-cam. I am also watching your channel for the first time. I'll share my opinion, even though I know it wasn't asked for, and may not be appreciated. As Ron Pratt says, there are many ways to get to 10. The problem here is that everyone is trying to get to 10 in a different way, and all at the same time. If any one of their ideas would have been the sole plan to go by, this probably would have gone much more quickly (and safely, especially in placement of chains/snatch-blocks). I felt as though everyone was working against each other. I definitely believe that some of the ideas proposed in this video were better than others, but it really didn't matter when everyone was just doing their own thing.. I think a lot can be learned by Ron's example. Ron allows his guys to chip in and share their input and ideas. Sometimes he even will adopt their plan, or let them "head up" the recovery. But ultimately, his word is the final say in a recovery. In this video, I couldn't even tell who was the senior operator, or the "man in charge". My suggestion for the team (which I know nobody asked for) would be to discuss ahead of time who is going to take the lead. That individual calls the shots and takes charge. If he so desires, he can clearly ask for input from the other operators, but with the end call ultimately being his. All in all, good video, definitely a lot that can be learned by watching it. I just wanna encourage the team to try to communicate a little differently. Good job Dustin, you have a new fan.
My goodness what a sticky situation. I was feeling frustrated that they wouldn't listen to you. But that's how the cookie crumbles. Sometimes you just need them to learn. Overall good job by all of you. There is a lot that goes into calculating angles and best way of pulling huge trucks out of trouble. Stay safe see you on the next one 😊
My experience is watching these types of videos for a few years so I really have no juice behind my idea . But I would have put both trucks next it back to back hooked the rims wit your heaviest rim slings and pulled it straight sideways ono the road maybe as a precaution put a strap around the box hooked to one of the booms to prevent a rollover . IMO but at the end of the day you all got the job done so good work .
I learned years ago that given a situation we could have similar equipt 2-3 or more competent operators and sit could be handled in various ways successfully . And in my Mind as long as no equipt is damaged and no one’s hurt, they’re all right.
I didn't know there were so many expert wrecker operators on youtube. At the end of the day they did what they set out to do and nobody got hurt. I would say that is a win
Y’all eventually got the job done. With all of your very nice brand new equipment and eager operators, your boss needs to spend some money on some heavy duty recovery classes for y’all. And the boss, too, if he really wanted to run a strap over a fiberglass U-haul box. IMHO.
I've been driving a rollback for years as the night driver I have learned to use my truck pulled a uhaul out that was just like this one same situation snach blocks chains slow and easy

Looks like y'all have some state-of-the-art equipment for doing that kind of work. I never got to drive anything as nice as what you have. I felt like your crew needs some more training, didn't seem like they knew what they were doing. Good luck and keep your equipment clean.
yes as a former tow guy, they made this a lot harder that it had to be, just one truck with outriggers I would have it out in 5 minutes would not want most of those guys around, standing by a winch cable that close can kill you if something lets go
Nobody had a real plan of attack to get the U-haul off of the shoulder of the road with all of the equipment there! I would really love to see how much the bill is for this recovery.
Essentially the flatbed driver could have gotten this out. The more snatch blocks you use to redirect the winch back to itself increases the weight it can pull.
Dustin, this is a difficult recovery for the heavies, there is multiple ways to recover, the safest way to recover this one is to close the road it be difficult to recover it just with one lane
