A street takeover and a parking lot takeover aka Car Show are two different things and should be easily argued in court and with that being said a lot of the time the criminal process is often the punishment time & money and so on.

My thoughts as a non-US resident, but as someone who lives on a country with the same problem: Fucking Good.
I'm thrilled to have some laws implemented on Takeovers, even if I won't be directly affected by them.
I live where the issue is very similar, it's just F8x BMWs, C63s, R8s and this one Huracan Performante that make a shit ton of noise and do donuts in the middle of the street and sit at rev limiter.
I really do hate those guys with a passion. Even if the cops abuse this, it's better than what was. Would you agree?

I agree with this as far as takeovers...the problem with it is they will apply these laws to street racing, i.e. no prep events and other meetups for sure.

Can't get over the Ego they've built up. Ego and Pride are not the same thing and they struggle or simply can't separate or distinguish between the two. Then there are those who are so prideful they refuse the help even though they could benefit from it but rather figure it out on their own, which in and of it's self there is nothing wrong with. It's just hard to watch sometimes and not be overbearing if you're the type who loves or feels they have to help. In those scenarios best to just step back and let em cook. Birmingham, Alabama here: we used to have a really bad problem with the takeovers and street racing but recently they passed new laws that they would begin prosecuting people simply based on social media footage and they’ve almost all but dissolved seemingly overnight.
The problem with most of these takeovers, at least the ones around here, is that no one owned the cars they were using. They’re all stolen so what do they care if they get damaged or seized by the police?
One would also assume that if they have no disregard for a stolen car, they probably could not care less about driving around with a revoked license.

I started going to track on motorcycles several years ago because I wanted less legal risk and an environment I felt more safe in(less risk in regards to traffic, animals, road debris, ect) and I fell in love. I learned a ton and it made me really wake up to risks of everyday life. I used to goof off in traffic all the time with buddies and whatnot for many years prior. So once i started doing track, I quickly retracted myself from things that could legally get me in trouble and carry much longer lasting repercussions for my actions.
Needless to say, just like you said, a lot of guys around me thought I was trying to act like I was better than them because "I went to the track" and was above riding on the streets, which then made them look at me like I was self indulged in myself and "HE OlNy RIdEs TracK".
The major disconnect is that the type of mentality that these kids/young adults have with this behavior is that they just haven't matured and aren't able to think several years down the road at what they are doing today can greatly impact them in later life. (and the attention/clicks for sure)

GSP dont even give a reason until they see the law license in my wallet. Never endorse "ambiguous" laws because it will ALWAY be purposely misunderstood by officers and DA's. While it is needed for the terrible kitty 8mph small circle drivers, it will theoretically stop any car meet they want with zero repercussions to the officers because the now have a vague law for qualified immunity now. No more safe gas station meetups promised before road cruises or going with your quad as a group to events. No foodtruck/block party/possibly no car shows safely, I could go on but basically any moment a officer wants to pull rank for ego moments for not being able to have the cars we do.... well they now have qualified immunity safety for it meaning no repercussions at all if they do misuse the law.

If you dont live in Atlanta or review our stats of lawsuits which Quite large.
"Qualified immunity is a type of legal immunity that protects a government official from lawsuits alleging that the official violated a plaintiff's rights, only allowing suits where officials violated a “clearly established” statutory or constitutional right." meaning all they need for protection when acting over the top one night at a normal even is :
They have 10+ cars and are not quiet.... if you have the income for hiring me or another attorney no biggy but if you dont.... you must eat a potential felony or $4000 ticket just for being parked or cruising with 10 or more friends. Basically even a unsanctioned car meetup or car show can qualify for this law and all the officer has to say is they were mistaken if you hire a lawyer to go after their QI.

Was supposedly a yearly thing they did in honor of someone who died on that stretch of road, probably street racing. Racers took off quickly, and police started the chase. Only was the two cars though that stopped the road though, not a bunch of kids and cars doing donuts. Didn't quite support it, but they only stayed for about 3 minutes and kept people from going home by the same time... more concerned with the reckless driving and police pursuit that followed, yet I heard nothing about it.
