  • In this week's episode, we work on a Craftsman LT1000 yard tractor. We go through the process of getting it to run, and performing maintenance services on it.

Did he say "free 99"? If he was buying it, I wouldn't have given any more than $50 for it, if it was me buying it. I bought an LT1000 not too long ago to for $175, but it's a pretty nice mower and was taken care of. Mine has the 6 spd transmission though, it's not hydro. All mine really needed was a new PTO cable for blade engagement and a new seal for the plastic dipstick filler tube (it was leaking oil where it slides into the seal). I plan on flipping mine for about $450 once the mowing season gets here, which it's just about here now.

I found out one thing after working on an old craftsmen 16 horse rider. . Without the gas cap on it didn't quite run right because it needed to produce vacuum. They are real finicky.
Have fun with that old beast, rudd riding back brakes, lol.
The bearings for the belts I'm surprised there not fried.

We were surprised too but they spin smoothly! Those little craftsman are durable machines! Thanks for watching Boe!
