The magic thing about starter ships now is that, with the weapon rebalance, the 4x S1 on the Aurora do 90% of the DPS as the 3x S3 on the Gladius (1,344 vs 1,500) and it does the SAME total damage per capacitor recharge. So while it's not hard to out-maneuver an Aurora, it will tear you apart just as quickly as any other fighter if you let it shoot you!
It's amazing to see how important skill is over bringing the best ships. It's also crazy to see how fast these fights are. I'm tempted to say something is broken, but you're killing stuff in an Aurora that are the top tier fighters for the last 5 years. I'm really curious to see a fight where the opponent anticipates your pre-turns and takes advantage of that.
In my experience, there isn't much one can do to "take advantage" of a lead turn. If they can read your maneuver correctly and early enough, they can alter their trajectory and deny you the positional advantage you were trying to gain. But that will only keep the fight neutral, not turn it in their favor. Lead turns are a balancing act. The earlier you turn, the closer to the other guy you can get, but you'll also give them more time to read the maneuver and react accordingly.
Wonderful! Please give some love to the other starter ship (the Mustang). Been flying the Beta and found it to be pretty capable too after applying stuff that I have learned from your vids. Cheers!
Are you using mouse and keyboard or hotas? Can hotas be competitive in pvp? (coming from other space sim whare mouse and keyboard is a must) Especially for fixed weapons.. (which is what you are using, right?) Thansk. I know this is 2years old but you never know...

I love that the Aurora has teeth now! Starters ships are now viable and that's good for the game.
