This reminds me of the TV series Stella Street, lol. Mick and Keith lived alongside David Bowie and Michael Caine and Al Pacino and many more. Rolling Stones seem to like this street. Thanks for another interesting walk.
Such magnificent homes. Thank you so much for showing us these places. My only hope is that the new money really appreciated how fortunate they were to live there!! Almost forgot...any ghosties and ghoulies about??
Funnily enough, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards lived in squalor in a famously filthy apartment very close to Cheyne Walk when they were a struggling band. They lived at 102 Edith Grove in 1962 and 1963.
@@ToursbyFootLondon And there's a pub on King's Road, close to that apartment at Edith Grove, where Bill Wyman auditioned for the Stones. Their paintings are world famous Every Pre-Raphaelite landscape background is painted to the last touch, in the open air, from the thing itself. Every Pre-Raphaelite figure, however studied in expression, is a true portrait of some living person. John everett millais was a child prodigy and at age ..eleven years , became the youngest ever student accepted into the royal academy of art ! Wow some of those houses are huge, lots of buildings this size are flats these days. The house of Samuel Taylor Coleridge must be very old ...I wonder if many of the Ton lived in this area when they came to their london houses for the season, from their country estates. When we look at most new builds they are sardine tins comparing to some historic houses.

I wish we could see inside these because they really don’t look that big, they are tall but it looks like a lot of stairs and very small rooms judging by the distance of the very narrow windows.
What lovely historic and beautiful homes ... I really enjoyed this tour and learning a bit of history as well ... thank you for sharing! 🥰 When we visited London for the first time back in 2018 and rented a little flat in Kensington on Dukes lane for our 2 week stay. We really enjoyed walking around the area and noticed many of the blue plaques on the homes and found it so interesting to read them and find out what famous person had lived there.
I’m burning with curiosity,is there any local council houses in any of those opulent areas,I can’t quite remember but was grenfell not in Kensington, hope it doesn’t sound like a stupid question, please forgive me if it is
There are council estates in most of these areas, ex. World's End estate in Chelsea or council housing blocks in Nothing Hill just a street away from Portobello Road.
I live here and yes if you are a fan of fancy cars they are all parked here. You also get the showy ones being noisy down Sloane Street up to Harvey Nicks on a Saturday x
Siddel’s hair probably looked long because the corpse shrinks over time..but Dante wrapped the poetry around her hair many many times which was placed beside her head…but it takes longer for hair to decay..it may not even decay either….the paper had to be disinfected because of health reasons and it is full of holes and missing some script because of bookworms
