What a shame these cars aren’t driven
Before I saw your post I was about to say the exact same thing. What a waste and shame to even have such a vehicle to sit! The GD things were built to drive, that is the whole reason behind a Porsche!! Stupid. That car should be worthless like that. Make people drive these vehicles for what they were intended. Look at Jay Leno, the guy has probably the best car collection and everyone (car) is made to drive at anytime of the day. NOW that is a collector and how it should be done.
Buy your own and drive the piss out of it.

Sitting there while all the gaskets, seals & bushings dry out, crack, leak & degrade. Everything oxidizing, corrosion on the internals, parts locking up.

It's literally a museum quality Porsche, but I would have to take it to the track gently and on a twisty road with purpose. I know it's low mileage value, but it's worth, and reason for existing, is that it's a high performance AUTOMOBILE! Be careful, no hooning, no donuts, but enjoy the beautiful Porsche. ✨️✌️
Previous owner of my car did 500 miles in 5 years! I have put 10,000 miles on it in 12 months! It needed a massive service to get it into daily reliable action again

I never understand the mindset of car collectors. If you have enough money to afford this car, you have disposable income. Just drive the fucking car you’re not going to get rich just letting cars sit. They actually lose value because gaskets, vacuum and fuel lines deteriorate if it’s not being driven regularly.

I have a 78 930 that I bought in 98. I was 25 years old, and for the last 28 years, I have kept it looking stock but have modded the suspension,trans,diff,brakes and motor and have always thought of her my forever car.I can totally relate to you.
Good for you! I think Jay Lenos Mercedes Gull Wing looks awesome with the paint coming off and scratches all over. It was a race car and always was. Still worth a ton and its driven.
