      Wondering if Nilaus never lived close to rail . . . or maybe he did and is suffering a flashback.
      I agree, he's usually not the swearing guy, and very rarely says anything worse than crud or crap. Unlike certain other youtubers, he uses more than 10% of the English vocabulary, too. And no "like / subscribe / mash that button" nonsense in the first half of a video, either. --- There was ONE more game that made him swear, the "get-eaten-by-a-bear-simulator" which looked like Valheim.

    You got so lucky with where the rivers originate.. On my map, each of my city has rivers starting right inside of them, so even dams don't really help. I wished there was a height map overview layer so you can plan a bit better in the beginning of the game.

    you accidentallied one of your city import buildings with a food storage, at the central platform for New Hangzhou - the left most one above the tracks. Also, don't forget to plant some eucalyptus so there's not just one forest type out there!

      IIRC, only one tree type can grow at current temperature. Later on, the trees which need higher temperature can grow too, and they will probably cope with high temperatures better.
      Also the "You accidentally" phrase usually means that something was deleted or broken by accident.

    The city dropped back below 100k because you demolished some of its buildings. Every time you demolish a city-owned building, population takes a small hit.

  • @gammaphil
    @gammaphil ปีที่แล้ว

    You can demolish trees back into your inventory just like any other building, so once you have a forest growing you can plow through it to collect more trees to start forests elsewhere. Helps if you keep running out and waiting for more to build.

    I'm actually pretty excited for this game, it strikes me like a much more low-pressure version of Per Aspera, it generally seems forgiving of mistakes and lets you just roll with trains quite early.

    • @milanstevic8424
      @milanstevic8424 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I find it half-baked. Have nothing against the core idea, it's just flimsy and underdeveloped. An ok pastime, but requires too much fiddling around to book-keep everything and/or modify things, while simultaneously exploding with complexity. In the end it just feels like a never-ending office work, like maintaining a code base of a software that nobody likes, worked on by countless of ex-employees who hated their job. And then when the game ramps up the requirements you feel like you were asked to do an overtime emergency duty on Saturday. Meh. Fine idea and executed ok-ish. I wish the natural problems it exposes were more puzzly, more deliberate, more creative, slow. I wish the tools were more developed to feel less janky, offering more information and better interrogation. Just my 2c.

    The only sane way to deal with waste is to fill the "Vrigin" location with the output of the recycled stuff IMO. Ofc some of it can go directly but the "overflow" sould go to the main Steel / Auluminium production line.

    • @raisins7777
      @raisins7777 ปีที่แล้ว

      In an earlier video Nilaus mentioned a clever solution from someone on discord: ratioed Supply Centers. You jam virgin products and recycled products into the city in two different places but you have like 5 Supply Centers eating the recycled for every 1 Supply Center next to the virgin depots. That way recycled consumption rate is always higher until it runs out, which means you used up all the waste.

    The city demand switch from reinforced concrete to composite makes me not want to play the game. You spend all that time building up a difficult supply chain, and at the drop of a hat you have a ton of excess production that is no longer needed, and have to switch it all around again. Seems like a poor design choice imho. I fine with the city demanding new products, but to just summarily dismiss a keystone product like that seems arbitrary and unnecessarily difficult.
    Plus the “tech tree” if you can call it that, is annoying in that you have no control over what or when you research the next tech. Making it linked to milestones forces you down a predetermined path that gives the player no control. Hopefully some major changes are around the corner.
