    Another challenging aspect of process mapping for process modellers is when you’re working with process owners who are not experts in the process. You simply cannot map what you do not know

      I agree that is definitely a huge challenge! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, cheers.

    Thank you so much Adriana. I've been checking multiple videos on TH-cam and this is definetely the best one I found. First of it is so realistic, and secondily, you explained it so well. I now have a good starting place to create my own.

    Great video! In order to complete a process map, is Visio the only software I can use to do this or can I use Word/Excel, etc?

    • @AdrianaGirdler
      @AdrianaGirdler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any design software will do. You can use Word but will be limited to the size of the page you select to create the process map.

    I like you. Your voice is pleasant, it’s not overwhelming, your background office is not distracting, your your computer presentation is clean and your words per minute or flow of information easy to understand.

    Great video. Thanks Adriana. How many people / stakeholders in your org are actively using / referring these process maps ? If it is simple or complex process I would rather talk to some one senior in the org. The processes always change. Process maps become the docs which no one refers. Please let me know your experience.

    • @AdrianaGirdler
      @AdrianaGirdler  ปีที่แล้ว

      Process maps are used as a tool to analysis gaps, issues and waste in the process. If your process is always changing ( depending on what the process is) could mean you have other bigger issues.

    Thanks for this video! I have been drafting a process map this week in my new role. I’ve done a couple before but not loads so this is helpful. I think most of mine will have swim lanes as we have a technical/dev team that we will hand over to and they’ll need the requirements etc but I agree that linear ones are much easier to understand!

    any significance to the shapes ??? thanks for wonderful video

    • @AdrianaGirdler
      @AdrianaGirdler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi @yoyoma. Yes they symbols do represent a task etc. For example and oval represents the start or end. A square represents a task or activity. Arrows represent the flow of the process and so on. Hope this helps and thanks for watching, cheers!

      Thanks for the suggestion Nitin! One of the things I use to track on going projects is a WBS and it's easily created in Excel. I will leave the video link here in case you haven't seen this one yet th-cam.com/video/BVcd9uy9kuQ/w-d-xo.html
