The Standard really isn't that bad.I get pretty good video for my purposes.Sometimes I'll throw them in Premier Pro and do some editing. I do not cache them to my phone however (just not enough room) , but I copy the video from the SD card to a USB drive and watch them on my 4K T.V.I got a good deal from Zapals.
Hi Carson. I live in a wind prone area. I noticed the higher you go like 150 feet and higher, the more stable it is. Most turbulent winds, shear, and crosswinds are in that range. I know that from flying lessons on a fixed wing aircraft years ago. Cheers.

I love the grounds around your house. I live in a row of houses with big gardens but they're close together. I'm in the UK and our drone laws don't allow flying within 150 metres of other people's houses. Your grounds are perfect for messing around with drones. Love the basketball court too. Hi Carson, something looks strange about the way you are calibrating the DJI standard... I could be wrong but shouldn't you be aiming the drone to the ground instead of upwards on your second turn? I just want to make sure you don't lose your phantom because of a bad calibration.
I take advice from a guy who is a professional and provides all the services a drone can perform. He says he doesn't fly in anything above 22mph. Me being a total amateur cut that to 15mph. Good stuff .Keep the videos coming

Cool, I went for my first flight in a pretty windy environment (not as windy as you showed there) but I never changed it to attitude mode... I was afraid of losing it in my first flight. And yes, battery lasted like 16-17 mins, maybe will buy another battery soon... Greetings!
Yeah I really need to get myself another battery also😂 although the only reason I haven't is because I'm planning on getting either the DJI Phantom 4 or DJI Mavic Pro maybe someday in the future and the batteries for the DJI P3 Standard don't work in those obviously so they become pretty useless :/
That private basketball court is AWESOME! Just a question I fly the drone for the first time in beginner mode and it give me "weak signal", the drone was not far away at all maybe 60ft, what happened if the signal is lost permanently ? Thanks !

I just bought my dji 3 standard about 1 month ago and have always flown it in beginner mode. when I turned that mode off it literally flew into a wall luckily i saved it my hand took most of the hit. not the wall, anyway did you have to register your drone with the city/town?
You may have possibly had the drone in A - attitude mode! I'm not sure why else that would have happened :(...Nope! Just with the FAA at registermyuas.faa.gov/register
My Phantom 3 makes the same squeaking noise. (Chirping?). I don't fly when winds are over 10mph or if there are gusts. Also note that if you hit RTH, that doesn't mean you can't adjust the trajectory. You can make adjustments if you are getting pushed around. Also note that the wind at altitude is stronger than tree top level.
Carson Miller Yes. You now use your bowl of cereal to control the drone. It’s a little wobbly though. I let my baby brother try, and he knocked over the bowl. That’s another 8 g’s down the drain.
Yeah I actually had one on those on the microphone that I was recording with in this video (Rode VideoMicro) a lot of the static and other noises were caused by interference with the microphone itself and I also received it at as broken itself xD. Hopefully the replacement microphone I got will do much better than the VideoMicro I had in this video did!
Hi Carson, great video!! :-) I'm currently thinking of buying this, but I have some concerns... I've read lots of complaints about signal loss (both RC and video). Has it been fixed yet? I plan to fly it 300-400meters tops (cause I'm a beginner). Could I do that without loosing the signal? :-) (Ooops, I've just found your other video about the range test... it's pretty reassuring, I feel better now about buying this drone!!!)

Haha nope that's never happened to me happily...if it would then obviously it would crash xD...So just make sure you screw them on tightly when putting them on!
Honestly I would wait until the end of this month just to see if DJI releases a new Phantom series upgrade as they did last year around this time for the Phantom 4. If they do release a new drone, then the DJI Phantom 4 is likely to go down in price:)...the Phantom 3 Pro may go down in price also and if it does, I would definitely suggest that over the Phantom 3 Standard as it does have higher specs.
I have to film around a 100 acre farm tomorrow and they are calling for sunny and clear but up to 24mph winds. Looks like it will be challenging but doable with a P3

I have a P3 Advanced. I have flown in thunderstorms at 1000 feet. This thing can handle at least 50MPH winds. I never worry about wind when I fly, unless I am far away and will be in a headwind on my return.
Carson I wanted to see what you thoughts were on something that happen to me. I was flying my phantom 3 standard with 8 satellites at about 5 feet. The wind was about 8 miles in hour no big deal. A gust of wing came up and just took my drone with it, I had No control at all. It crashed on my asphalt driveway. Minimal damage but why would this happen? I thought it was supposed to be steady in these situationsI haven't had any problems in the past?

dave ace the P3 is not only very easy to fly once you get used to it you will never crash it I got mine at Christmas time and it was my first drone and now I can fly it perfectly with no problems

I've never heard of that before. You should only need to create a DJI account and then login to the wifi of the drone with the password "12341234" and you should be able to fly!

I don't! The app I'm using is the DJI Go app For Phantom 3, Inspire 1, OSMO and Matrice. If it looks different from what yours looks like, it's likely you have an Android device. I say this, because sadly DJI doesn't have as great of support for the DJI Go app on Android as they do for iOS (at least I've heard).
Yeah I don't currently use any filters because I don't fly this as often as I would like but if I ever do plan on getting any filters, I'll make sure to make a video about it:)

As soon as I have the money I want to purchase either the DJI Mavic or the DJI Phantom 4 but I'm first going to make sure that I wait until the Phantom lineup is updated this year (at least for the past couple of years DJI updates yearly) :)
I'm very impressed about this drone because it not flying out of control through the wind compare to my other drones. I think this is drone for me compare to parrot bebop.
My phantom 3 tips over will not even take off how do I fix that I hit power lines one day and ever since it will not take over just flips off and flips over and full throttle
i wonder why you never upgrade your antenna to a better one. its possible to get 2,5km range in an open field with this drone. the standard antenna is very weak.
Yeah it may be weak but I've been able to get to 1 mile + distances and I don't really ever have to fly further than that and so there isn't much of a reason for me xD

Quick question: Is attitude mode like sports mode on the mavic?
Snazzy Naz yes kinda but mavic is faster but all DJI drones can reach their top speed in atti mode

I use one for all my outdoors videos and even high winds are basically mute.

I just crashed taking off on low wind same drone. Flipped on takeoff because I was being careful. Do you need to hit throttle harder?
Yeah, you got to get off the ground very fast so it won’t tip over. Once you’re off the ground though, fly safe!

Hmm what phone or device are you using? If you're using android the DJI Go app isn't as optimized as it is for Apple iPhones/iPods/iPads

If it's really bad, it's more than likely due to interference around you. Try moving away from all power lines and wifi routers and see if that stop!

Wolffman 32 get a cheaper drone first like syma. dji drones are for serious videographer and filmmaker.

Should have gone further with the wind in ATTI mode, you were still accelerating. I got 97 km/h (60 mph) this way with mine.

Get the app called hover!! Tells the wind speed. An thenDirection of the wind,, no fly zones,, a must for,any drone user!!! I started off with thenStandard.. I even installed myself thenARG TECH ANTENNA BOOSTERS.. now I have the professional.. with the new $400 fpvld set up... supposed to go 8 to 10 miles now,,, I have only gone for five with my heart and my chest and stopped and came home could've went further .. but,,, get that HOVER app,,, trust me,,, keep up all the good work young blood

How do you not have a million subs?? How did you get so many views on some of your vids?? I wish I had as many subs as you!!!! I also have a DJI Phantom 3 Standard...got it on Black Friday for $360 and it has worked pretty good so far EXCEPT in the wind
Haha I don't know I wish I had a million subscribers:)...Also it's because the videos with many views on them answer questions many people want an answer to but there aren't many other videos out there on TH-cam that fulfill their question needs xD.

As soon as I have the money I want to purchase either the DJI Mavic or the DJI Phantom 4 but I'm first going to make sure that I wait until the Phantom lineup is updated this year (at least for the past couple of years DJI updates yearly) :)

I'm very impressed about this drone because it not flying out of control through the wind compare to my other drones. I think this is drone for me compare to parrot bebop.

My phantom 3 tips over will not even take off how do I fix that I hit power lines one day and ever since it will not take over just flips off and flips over and full throttle

i wonder why you never upgrade your antenna to a better one. its possible to get 2,5km range in an open field with this drone.
the standard antenna is very weak.
Yeah it may be weak but I've been able to get to 1 mile + distances and I don't really ever have to fly further than that and so there isn't much of a reason for me xD
