Prince Süleyman receives the bad news as he's on hunting with his right-hand man İbrahim of Parga that his father Selim the Resolute deceased. Prince Süleyman sets off on his way to Istanbul at once. Prince Süleyman arrives to the capital city sharply. He immediately attends to the ceremony of accession to the throne. His whole life changes on a day and he starts to his sultan life as Sultan Süleyman.
Alex is brought to Topkapı Palace although her rebelliousness. Her attitude calls Sultana's attention from the very beginning. However, Alex learns the rules of the palace in very short time. She raises her sights. Alex becomes successful with attracting Sultan Süleyman's attention at the night he sees her for the first time. In the mean time, Sultan Süleyman's wife Mahidevran comes from Manisa Palace and looks forward to see his husband.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Definitely I fall in love with Hurrem. And in 1 episode is explained why she was negative. After murdering of the whole family and being sold like animal, she was treated even worse than animal!! And other sultanas were better than her? No, Valide and Fatma were even worse. And Hurrem mainly protected her lover and kids

The first time I watched this awesome series was during the pandemic in 2020. What makes it more memorable for me was when my mother also got hooked on it. She particularly loved Hurrem's strong personality and her ways in fighting for herself, her love for Suleiman and her children. My mother passed on at 84 yo in 2021 but I'm happy that we bonded over this during the covid quarantine months. We both love the series. Now I am rewatching the series and I can't help but recall the times I watched it with my dearesr mother who I miss so much. ❤

I could watch this series all day long. The red-headed Ukranian, slave, then wife, then the only wife. This series was the BEST. You just can't beat a Turkish drama. It's the best soap opera available online. Enjoy one of my favorite shows of all time.

It is possible that Ibrahim Pasha never saw Hurrem's face. But why were some historically known facts changed - Ibrahim was not married to Hatije, Hatije already had five children at the time of Suleiman's accession to the throne, Hafsa died before the marriage of Hurrem and Suleiman, the first haseki sultan was Hurrem and not Mahidevran, sultans until Suleiman was traditionally cut off from intimate relations with women who would give birth to a son, Hurrem was on good terms with his in-laws, Suleiman had only two older sisters, he was Hafsa's the youngest child, Hafha-Walide Sultan was an ordinary Christian slave and not the daughter of the Crimean Khan, the costumes in the series are not Turkish and dozens of other historical inaccuracies.

Meryem Uzerli is so memorable even her voice. I was listening to something and it was a kind of scene I think where you could hear all sorts of voices, people talking but you couldn't see the actual speakers just could hear them. I Swear it was hers because no one pronounces things quite like her. Her pitch, the intonation is so distinctive. You cannot forget her.

Watching this with so much mixed emotions. I am a Christianand definitelyndo not uphold campaigns of killing and desecrating churches or subjecting other people. It is wrong regardless of who does it: Christian, Hindhu or Moslem or Athiest.

That's part of way I wish they had kept the rule about the Sultan not sleeping with a concubine after she gives him a son. It's a big part of how much Suleiman loves Hurrem that this was the first rule he broke for her.

If you've just watched a little "Kuruluş Osman", than - the Beginning of this Moovie has a completely different Impact - here in these Woods, that Suleyman easily enters with his Bodyguards - imagine all the Beys who made it his, and the endless Struggle over Generations with their Families, against the Mongols, etc. their tender Wifes armed and their Kids !!! 😱
I stopped at ep100 'cause there's no Meryem anymore then came back to ep 1. For my eyes' sake this is the 3rd time already and i just cant continue watching the series till the end without Meryem😂😭
The new hurrem is killing it the same way , u should continue to watch it
I so agree... although I completed the series the first time to understand the story line. But it felt like a let down without Meryem, she can't be replaced. The older actress acted well, I guess, but no match for the original Hurrem 🙂

From what i heard, historically, he really loved this brother of his. That's why he was expelled and not killed for succession purposes.
