Stavros, I want to thank you for posting these videos. Not only is it fascinating to watch you work, but I actually learn something from them as well. I made a router plane about a year ago using a hex key for the cutter and it works really well but it's a little large and I'm ready to try and do a smaller version like this one, and using tool steel that I bought online. I don't have enough chisels to allow one to be a donor for this project and the steel was inexpensive. Less expensive than even a cheep chisel. Thanks again for the inspiration.
How you gonna make the most beautiful planes I have ever seen nonstop! I just found your channel a couple of weeks ago and cannot get enough. I love the no-frills videos, letting your work be in the spotlight speaks so much more clearly than any words ever could. Bravo, sir, a true master builder!

awesome video stavros, I built this same plane using the eyebolt and was not happy with that design, this wider nut that you used is a much better design. Good job!!!!

A thing i like about your tool making is how versatile your thinking is when it comes time to adapt things to make into part of the tool, rather than going out and buying a fixing, make one, it just takes the whole process to another level of ingeniousness. )

Clever use of an old chisel for the plane iron.
I'm planning on using large, old Allen wrenches. Suitably heated, bent and tempered, they should do just as well.
And being of several sizes, I can make a few different widths, and angled/pointed ones.

Thank you! Yes, you have right. It was cheap chisel made of weak steel so i skip tempering process. It was temporary router plane blade. I was looking for real router plane blade and i changed it for this th-cam.com/video/1SAaWWwadS4/w-d-xo.html

Dobra robota. Dobrze się ogląda Twoje filmy, jeszcze jakby jakaś muzyczka była klimatyczna :) A może byś pokazał jak zrobić strug ręczny profilowy, taki z ozdobnym profilem, to jest dosyć ciekawe a nawet po angielsku niema takiego filmiku (chyba). Od razu się przyznam że wszystkich Twoich filmów nie oglądałem.A co do filmu to nieźle Ci wyszedł ten strug, chociaż spodziewałem się większego, i nie wpadłem na pomysł żeby nóż zrobić z dłuta. Musiało to być dobre dłuto. Hartowałeś je? Bo na filmie chyba tego nie było, raz widziałem że zanurzyłeś w oleju lub wodzie ale to chyba nie hartowanie nie było.
Jaguarrr JS dzieki! kiedys na pewno zrobie taki film. Nie skupialem sie na hartowaniu bo to nie bylo dluto super jakosci wiec nie bylo sensu, a potrzebowalem noza takiej szerokosci na "tu i teraz" do konkretnej roboty. Z czasem zostanie podmieniony na nóz z prawdziwego zdarzenia tylko musze taki dorwac. Do tego czasu po prostu bede go czesciej ostrzyl :) co do muzyki to nie mam teraz czasu na znalezienie czegos sensownego i bez praw autorskich. pozdrawiam

Did you have to re-harden and re-temper the chisel?
No, check the descripion - it was temporary solution.

Tak, robiłem, ale od kilku miesięcy nie przyjmuję zamówień bo nie miałem kiedy ogarnąć swoich projektów. Narazie skupiam się na zorganizowaniu warsztatu i na kręceniu filmów :)
