If the everyday user wanted something that works they choose Android. The everyday user wants something won't cost them an arm and leg. They don't care about "premium apps" or what "works". They all work since they all make phone calls and do things. Just like the video, its about preferences. Every phone that comes out is compared to an iPhone because it was the first of its kind but each time I and many others watch these comparisons, we're glad we chose Android. Others will feel different.
@MrBananaspot with iOS 5, you're able to delete songs/videos on your device without using iTunes. Just swipe on the item you want to delete and the red Delete button will show up.
I had a 3GS... tried a GNex for a month on the trial period and ended up with a 4S. The GNex shut off at random, had terrible battery life (yes, I tried adjusting everything) and was just a bit too big. Google apps (esp. maps and gmail) were awesome. The 4S doesn't do everything the GNex does but it is reliable and doesn't let me down. I was also kinda freaked out by all the weird permissions needed for a lot of android apps. For me, the 4S works. Your mileage may vary.
...What applications are you using on iPhone that differ from Android? I have never found any apps lacking on the GNexus and using "chrome beta" as my browser it syncs perfectly with my desktop (gadget+) Finally when I play games I usually go for the high end ones like GTA3, Modern Combat 3, Osmos HD or use an emulator to play N64 games. Anyway I go the big 4.65" screen just makes them so much nicer to view and play than on my friends iPhones. Not to mention the dozens of Android utilities I use
I'm a mobile app developer. Most applications are on iOS and come out for iOS first because the market for iOS has much more money in it then Android, but this is slowly changing. I'm working on porting my Apps to Android because of this. I believe soon most games will be available on both platforms, even though a lot actually are now.
Tbh both of you are right. It depends on context on which you use them. Mathematically a gig is 1*10^9 however when talking about computer science (IEEE standard) because information is transferred and stored using binary code then the value 2^30bytes will be delivered which in this case 1073741824bytes or 1024*10^3 bytes.
I think you have that mixed up, I have both the gsm Gnexus and factory unlocked 4S. The Gnexus I have running 4.0.4 ics rooted w/cyanogenmod and runs hspa on T-mobile, my 4S I have running 5.0.1 ios jailbroken and runs 2G edge on tmobile and honestly I have to say I am highly unimpressed with the nexus, I still get more functionality and more root access on my 4S,
I have the HTC Evo 3D and both of my parents have the iPhone 4S. I have to say the the iPhone is a lot snappier compared to the Evo, but not by too much. The only problem I have with the iPhone is that the keyboard is too small. It's probably because I'm use to the giant keyboard on the Evo. I think in the end it all boils down to personal choice and what you want to do with the phone.
I'm making the switch from PC to MAC and from Android to iPhone because of the ability to streamline my media, business, and school content in Apple's Cloud.
There's a ton of forums that say the nexus has reception issues, on Verizon at least. It seems well documented and is one of the reasons I returned it.
its not activated :( the nexus was my previous phone i'm eventually going to re activate it so i can have it as an emergency phone but until then i use it for testing custom roms.
I agree with him here. Most of the apps on the Play Store are just a bunch of low quality ones mimicking official ones filled with adds and written in Engrish.
I have an old i-phone which i sometimes use as a phone when I can afford the data. When not I still use the i-phone as a PDA. I download stuff at home to use away. My whole life is there. It's great. I was looking for a larger screen and for the next upgrade I was thinking the s3 or the note If I do, will I still have the PDA factor? notes in the never large enough bag. This is a great thing for me. If I switch I don't want to lose anything. Any comments? Thanks!
if you love your iphone for the apps why dont you use an ipod touch for the apps and games and the nexus for a phone? i love android but i own an itouch too
Where I live, to get a decent mobile plan for the iPhone 4s (1 gb data, 200 minutes) will cost $60 (plus fees and a 3 year contract) per month. The Galaxy Nexus, on the other hand, will cost me $35 per month (no extra fees, no contract) for unlimited, voice, unlimited text, unlimited data, and caller ID.
ok so you're saying people dont buy the iPHONE for the phone capabilities? then why not just buy an ipod touch it has the same application store. no hate just something that makes me wonder
@thatlukewheeler have you actually used an Android phone? I have an Nexus S which ran 2.3 and now ICS and is a better experience then my iPhone ever was. Also it is much much cheaper.
@ThomasRojan They did revamp a pile of apps and improved the usability though. That's a plus. It might be hard to see as a big picture since every manufacturer likes to coat it with their own launcher I think. Newer versions of iOS just don't feel like it changes much though... it feels like the old one for the most part :/
i know what you are trying to say ... but why is the 4s released if it was not a better "phone" why not stick to the ipod touch or iphone 3g , they have apps too
@droseum20 why does the lack of customization kill u? its not like u spend most of ur time just staring at the home screen. im usually on apps and dont even notice the home screen
@LaosKid619 Which phone you have? You can turn off all the eye candies to save battery. If you are using 4G you can turn off 4G when you don't need it, easily. With Android, you have the options.
what makes a gadget a gadget? are apps the only thing that makes the iphone a better gadget? not trying to argue for android, but you would think that a phone with a large screen and fast internet would make for a better, or at least more pleasant use gadget wise.
I got galaxy s2 and i find myself unable to type as accuretly as i do on iphone even though it has smaller screen, also i have feeling that i can not type as fast on galaxy as i can on the iphone
I like to think of Androids and iPhones as Graphic/Graphing and Scientific caluculators respectively. Androids/graphing calculators do a lot more, but iPhones/scientific calc are just easier to work with (at least they are for me in maths class)
@7silverpants But why should I void my warranty on a EASILY breakable phone just so I can "customize" a iphone, when android already has customizable options preloaded ????
What defines better? What is a smartphone supposed to do? They both make calls, send text messages, able to check emails, browse the internet, download items, follow directions on a map, listen to music, take pictures...they both do the SAME EXACT stuff. It is up to everyone's specific opinion on what defines 'better'.
The iphone ui looks great but its just not too exciting to use. Apps on the iphone are usually easier on the user too. Android on the other hand is full of customization options, but the apps aren't very easy to use. Thats why my mom can never figure out how to do things on my phone but can handle my ipod touch.
I think part of the reason why ios get's applications first is because they only have one phone, so its easy for developers to make an application that will work for millions of people, while android on the other had has tons of different phones, many with different versions of android. I would guess it takes way more time for them to make a somewhat "universal" app that works with all of the devices. that's my guess.
Also they need to understand that android has true multitasking. This means you do have to close the applications which are suspended in the background or else you will drain your battery.
will agree the iphone and ios is better for aps, the only real let down about it is its price, if you are not on a contract it costs nearly 6x as much as you can pick up an android device for
@seanjosephhayes Android is an open platform, allowing the user to run way more stuff than iOS. Status bar notifications is one of the customizing possibilities of Android, if you were thinking.
I honestly got the iPhone because of apps and iTunes. Now I can transfer all my songs from my iTouch to my phone. but you people bashing either phone are silly, they're both great phones.
iTunes is also another big factor. If you use lots of Apple devices it's good to use the iPhone as it'll be easier to manage. If you don't, then I recommend staying well away from iTunes. iTunes I think is only good if multiple devices use it. Also, it runs badly on Windows... and it broke my Vegas Pro recently which pissed me off. If you're indifferent about apps, then you should look at the stock OS. I think ICS is better than iOS. Widgets, calendar, customisation etc just trounce iOS to me.
i have to admit it is quite true you may as well buy your self an iPod touch and a phone that lets to talk, txt, and use the internet well. you do not really need to buy an iPhone or an Android
@SoldierKnowsBest are you going to get the new nokia pureview 808 when it comes out? it is said that it has a 41MP camera in it and i dont believe it so i would love to see you reviewing it :) please say yes
i have an iPod touch an i really don't see much point in getting an iPhone i meen all the iOS devices have hardware differences but their all basically the same software. i like the stability of iOS but i kinda wana try something outa the apple loop for once
can somebody tell me b.coz where going to buy averizon LG cosmos a basic phone then were going to buy a iphone 4s at walmart and our plan is were going to transfer the sim card to the iphone 4s ?is that possible?
i think both have there perks, things to like about android is the intergration of say like facebok and twitter, widgets, bigger screens. customized screens. things to like about apple is battery, dependable, vibrate switch. both good os.. just different perks
I like the androids flexibility and customization. It does come with its drawbacks such as it isn't as polished as the iPhone but the iPhone doesn't have nearly as many features as android
If the everyday user wanted something that works they choose Android. The everyday user wants something won't cost them an arm and leg. They don't care about "premium apps" or what "works". @MrDemilord but u can't sync ur samsung phone with ur pc, u don't have samsung cloud, u don't have find my samsung... u only have the phone itself.
...What applications are you using on iPhone that differ from Android? I have never found any apps lacking on the GNexus and using "chrome beta" as my browser it syncs perfectly with my desktop (gadget+) Finally when I play games I usually go for the high end ones like GTA3, Modern Combat 3, Osmos HD or use an emulator to play N64 games. Good for you! Whats it like?
Tbh both of you are right. It depends on context on which you use them. do you keep all the gadgets and devices that your sponsors buy
I think you have that mixed up, I have both the gsm Gnexus and factory unlocked 4S. The Gnexus I have running 4.0.4 ics rooted w/cyanogenmod and runs hspa on T-mobile, my 4S I have running 5.0.1 ios jailbroken and runs 2G edge on tmobile and honestly I have to say I am highly unimpressed with the nexus, I still get more functionality and more root access on my 4S,
@TheTechJoint having LTE right now is not a pro. 4G conectivity is not stable yet and an lte processor just drains your battery.
I agree! I've been using Android phones from the beginning, but I recently got an iPhone 4s and will never go back.
I have the HTC Evo 3D and both of my parents have the iPhone 4S. I have to say the the iPhone is a lot snappier compared to the Evo, but not by too much. The only problem I have with the iPhone is that the keyboard is too small. It's probably because I'm use to the giant keyboard on the Evo. is i phone 4s siri better than samsung galaxy or nexus??????????????reply with explanation i ll be thankful
If you don't like the I phone which do you have a mac
I'm making the switch from PC to MAC and from Android to iPhone because of the ability to streamline my media, business, and school content in Apple's Cloud.
And for anyone who wants the humble bundle games, the bundle will only last a few more days before you can't purchase it anymore
There's a ton of forums that say the nexus has reception issues, on Verizon at least. It seems well documented and is one of the reasons I returned it.
Where did you get the cover for it iPhone 4s soldier knows best
its not activated :(
the nexus was my previous phone
i'm eventually going to re activate it so i can have it as an emergency phone but until then i use it for testing custom roms.
For the jacktreads link, change the ; to : so it works better
I agree with him here. Most of the apps on the Play Store are just a bunch of low quality ones mimicking official ones filled with adds and written in Engrish.
It's about which one you personally prefer, why argue?
I have an old i-phone which i sometimes use as a phone when I can afford the data. When not I still use the i-phone as a PDA. I download stuff at home to use away. My whole life is there. It's great. Love your iPhone case , what s the name of it?
if you love your iphone for the apps why dont you use an ipod touch for the apps and games and the nexus for a phone? i love android but i own an itouch too

your really good at phone reviews probably one of the best in the internet for what ive seen
What case are you using on the iPhone 4S in this video?
I'm getting a new phone on the 23rd and I don't know which one to get? Any advise?
ok so you're saying people dont buy the iPHONE for the phone capabilities? then why not just buy an ipod touch it has the same application store. no hate just something that makes me wonder
Like the way people keep comparing the a4 chip to the s3 how bout you compare it to the s4 then tells me who wins
why did you delete your gopro hero review put it back up man
Wow, first really HONEST comparison I've ever seen on these devices. Really explained what still makes the Iphone 4 and 4s the best gadget out there.
@thatlukewheeler have you actually used an Android phone? I have an Nexus S which ran 2.3 and now ICS and is a better experience then my iPhone ever was.
Also it is much much cheaper.
so I'm looking into buying a new phone and found you, and I'm loving the videos! so thanks for all the advice
@ThomasRojan They did revamp a pile of apps and improved the usability though. That's a plus. If I have an ipod and an ipad, should I get an iphone or aan
i have the nexus for a second hand phone for if my iphone breaks
i just have it laying on a shelf in the box until i need it
i know what you are trying to say ... but why is the 4s released if it was not a better "phone" why not stick to the ipod touch or iphone 3g , they have apps too
AWESOME SHIRT! where did you get it??
depends on user...i been iphone user for 4 years and im about to jump on android soon..i love custom/tweaking and i hate waiting on jailbreak..
@droseum20 why does the lack of customization kill u? its not like u spend most of ur time just staring at the home screen. im usually on apps and dont even notice the home screen
Is the Nexus that good? Cruz I'm thinking of getting one
can anyone please tell me which one should i choose iphone 4s or nexus cause I really want to buy one
@LaosKid619 Which phone you have? You can turn off all the eye candies to save battery. If you are using 4G you can turn off 4G when you don't need it, easily. With Android, you have the options.
I want to backup my contacts. How do I make sure I'm saving them correctly? I want them on my SIM. How do I sync with my google account? gmail??
what makes a gadget a gadget? are apps the only thing that makes the iphone a better gadget? not trying to argue for android, but you would think that a phone with a large screen and fast internet would make for a better, or at least more pleasant use gadget wise.
I got galaxy s2 and i find myself unable to type as accuretly as i do on iphone even though it has smaller screen, also i have feeling that i can not type as fast on galaxy as i can on the iphone
I agree with your stand Sir! Thanks for this Video!
It has Gorilla Glass they just don't advertise it. Airplay is better than HDMI mirror mode. You can install Swype.
@shadowsneak3434 iphone does not have cydia you have to jailbreak it(void warrenty) and add it. You are tied down to apple if you dont jailbreak/root.
@baroc00 no.... verizon phones don't use sim cards... the sim card the iPhone 4s uses is just for international roaming
i'm confused is samsung galaxy nexus a canadian phone or not
Hey @SoldierKnowsBest What do you think about the windows phone?
I like to think of Androids and iPhones as Graphic/Graphing and Scientific caluculators respectively. Androids/graphing calculators do a lot more, but iPhones/scientific calc are just easier to work with (at least they are for me in maths class)
so how to do that special box thing when youn do the video
@7silverpants But why should I void my warranty on a EASILY breakable phone just so I can "customize" a iphone, when android already has customizable options preloaded ????
What defines better? What is a smartphone supposed to do? @shermanshah And what are you trying to say with that?
I'm not an expert on cars but.. isn't BMW better than Hyundai?
@Herssonisos1 not true at all, is almost impossible to brick your android phone unless your flashing radios, but that isn't really part of rooting.
I think part of the reason why ios get's applications first is because they only have one phone, so its easy for developers to make an application that will work for millions of people, while android on the other had has tons of different phones, many with different versions of android. what internet provider do you have soldier? im looking for a new network, any suggestions?
@UncleSamProduction Galaxy S2 came out almost 6-7 months before a Galaxy Nexus. uMadBro?
why didnt you mention Windows phone 7? it might be suited for people too
An iphone is the same thing as the ipad but the screen is smaller and u can't call or send messages on the ipad
Also they need to understand that android has true multitasking. This means you do have to close the applications which are suspended in the background or else you will drain your battery.
which is the fking best iPhone or Samsung galaxy nexus he makes me confuse
will agree the iphone and ios is better for aps, the only real let down about it is its price, if you are not on a contract it costs nearly 6x as much as you can pick up an android device for
Id like to see updated video for 2013.
@seanjosephhayes Android is an open platform, allowing the user to run way more stuff than iOS. Status bar notifications is one of the customizing possibilities of Android, if you were thinking.
they both great.choice is awesome .had iphone 4 now have galaxy nexus and like it much better. Still have a touch .
can u download applications to play games on the samsung galaxy nexus?
Very good video man! Very well explained and made some very true points.
whoa so i wander what is a better PHONE to buy
but the games that get ported perform better on android and i can touch the screen on my GNex without blocking the entire view of what game im playing
I honestly got the iPhone because of apps and iTunes. Now I can transfer all my songs from my iTouch to my phone. but you people bashing either phone are silly, they're both great phones.
is the g-nexus have a 4x4 grid??
you have verizon? and not gsm?

this is where rooting and jailbreaking come into play
Oh Soldier, even though you're an Apple fan-boy, you still have the guts to point out their faults. You have wisdom Soldier, and I appreciate you.
That's purely preference, and instagram is coming to android along with temple run. Both systems have pros and cons
@prichynismurpy I'm thinking about switching to Android. What exactly does the Nexus better do than the iPhone (in your opinion)?
@xxitzfamousxx Were you dropped on your head or whipped at the wall when you were younger?
arent most apps for ios paid?
im sorry but when the video started...i was trying to understand the phrase on your shirt meant
@stjs7857 sorry mate but i fully disagree with you, the number 1 gadget must have mass storage mode via USB, not sync
I don't even know what a VZW is. anyways in my country 4g isn't available anywhere and I don't think it's available in europe at all at the moment....
There are pre-paid cards for the play store i bought one recently.
My htc has a better camera. Uve seen one pf those around right?
i have to admit it is quite true you may as well buy your self an iPod touch and a phone that lets to talk, txt, and use the internet well. you do not really need to buy an iPhone or an Android
@SoldierKnowsBest are you going to get the new nokia pureview 808 when it comes out? it is said that it has a 41MP camera in it and i dont believe it so i would love to see you reviewing it :) please say yes

@LimeSlimez Copytrans allows u to drag and drop to iPhone. And jailbreaking adds a lot of customization
@WollyhoodStudios If you jailbreak an iPhone they're pretty customiseable..
I like the androids flexibility and customization. It does come with its drawbacks such as it isn't as polished as the iPhone but the iPhone doesn't have nearly as many features as android
