I agree, in general somethings in the original looked kind of “scarier”. I feel the same way about the old Zelda games on the Nintendo 64. Those games had a creepiness to them that didn’t transfer over very well to the newer 3DS versions released.
One of the reasons is that they put too much of the brightness exposure in the Wii version the Switch looks more clearer like they wiped the vaseline off the screen

Not a fan of the unblemished porcelain doll look at all. The palette and lighting is all over the place too. If I’d never played the original and you told me this was one of those Sword Art Online tie-in games I wouldn’t give it a second thought.
While I think they did an amazing overall job with the remaster, the character models and soundtrack are still the only things I prefer from the original game. The new models look too "anime" for the tone of the game, and the shading is a little too saturated at times. Just look at how the Monado's light reflects on the characters in the original but not on the remaster. Not only that, but the characters look too bright while indoors in the remaster, while in the original they look more realistically shaded.

@@pikachu896 Don't worry about them, I get what you're saying. Some effects were definitely lost but it's the case with most remakes. I'd personally take the remake any day but I kinda miss thr innocence of the original character models. They looked quaint, even for the time and it somehow added to the feeling of the game
Ehhh even if they are a bit more "animeish" they just have so much more expression, not to mention that the Wii models only really looked that way due to hardware constraints. their "new" designs are really just what the Devs intended

Original is so much better graphically. New version has some strange character lighting and bloom that look off.
