Xenoblade Chronicles: Original vs. Definitive Edition Comparison - A Terrible Loss

Just like the Mystery Dungeon Comparison I did months ago, I decided to also make a comparison video between both Xenoblade Chronicles editions.
Systems used for the original Xenoblade Chronicles - Wii u (vWii)
Systems used for the definitive edition Xenoblade Chronicles - Nintendo Switch
These video series will include:
✔️Cutscenes
✔️Boss fights
✔️Heart to Heart between characters
✔️Super/Secret boss fights (after completing main story)
These video will NOT include:
❌Side quests
❌Colony 6 reconstruction
❌Future connected gameplay
Other things I would like to point out:
Not every cutscene will have the same time (day or night).
Characters might not have the same outfit or weapon equipped between both versions.
The dialogue might be a bit out of place in some cases

As an artist I like the original for it's gritter graphics and nostalgia but at the same time the remaster does a better job at character models and expressions despite the art style change. It keeps the spirit of the original while standing on it's own. Also Metal Face's glowy bits look awesome in the remaster and makes him scarier.
While I like the expressions of the newer version and how much more they are emphasized it just reminds me of 90s and 2000s anime in that they kind of drifted away from realism. Not that this is a bad thing but in terms of body proportions the original is more realistic than the remaster.
Again, I don't mind either. Just my take on it.

Maybe they thought the blood was a bit too bright of a shade of red?

You can see a bright red blood when Metalface fills Fiora and the Emperor

For some reason, Dumban's blood is black, but Fiora's is red. No idea what the deal with that is.

@@DeepDiveDevin its not censorship its realism. Blood coming out of the mouth is darker, almost black even in some cases. Bright red blood didn't make biological sense in the og game

Wii character faces has significant more charisma and more credible. Maybe the technical limitations are contributing to this.
Switch ones are too comic book style, and Shulk looks too young for his voice. Unfortunately, his white blonde hair has been replaced.

I don't like the anime style of nintendo switch, I think the original style in hd textures would be better

I agree, however it doesn't go too far with the anime look like XC2. It suits the game well enough and is mainly there to help the characters expressions.
I respect your opinion, part of the reason I loved xenoblade when I played it was that it executed jrpg elements while not directly following tropes and the look of the game definitely was a factor
