I was also highly allergic to cats then i had a cat adopt me. After a year of letting him inside for several minutes at a time i pretty much desensitized myself to cats. I have a cat sitting with me right now. It's possible you can overcome your allergy, maybe your Dr can help. This cat obviously loves you! Good luck to you both 🐱❤️
This is true. I have 3 cats and one I'm allergic to. I wash my hands and keep her off my clothes, bed. I also take OTC allergy pills if need be. It works out great.
What a beauty, thank you for loving her. I am also allergic, but am used to my own cats, both are also rescues. I would be wheezy with itchy eyes in other pet's homes.
@@mariarohmer2374 I wonder if she used to belong to another lady perhaps that I remind her of? It makes me sad to think she may have had a home at one time and maybe something happened to the owner? Guess I'll never know.
@@CarnivoreRamblings-iy3py I saw a video where a ginger cat came to this one man's house soon after he moved in. The place was out in a forest. It was a stray and getting cold outside, so he started taking care of it. Turns out that cat belonged to the former resident of that house. She was elderly and sent to a nursing home. Her family or maybe nobody just left it there alone to fend for itself. That poor thing survived the snow and whatever other elements, eating whatever it could find. It made me so sad to think it was just hanging around confused and waiting for its owner to return. Thank goodness cats are so brave to take a chance on people. If they're lucky they find wonderful people and a home. Like yours did.😸
I love your story your sharing. Keep her safe and keep giving her the love. The have lots of outdoor kitty houses now online 2. My sister in law reached a kitty that chose her and I found them. Glad you helped her she's beautiful. Hugs.
i have 7 feral cat family that love me just like yours also they have all the food in the world to eat with heated electrical beds in their houses under the patio with tarps to block the wind, rain and snow
@@joannaoldytowska5488as a home health nurse I see a lot of patients that have cats and almost everyone says the cat found them. I rarely hear that someone went out to purposely get themselves a cat😂 thank you to all who take care of stray cats.
We also have cat allergies in our home and we too have cared for kitties without homes. In our case, all of our neighborhood cats are feral and they are very fearful of humans. Most of them will not come within 10 ft of me and some of them have gotten as close as 2 feet to me. Glad your kitty shows her affection to you for caring for her!
@@jillybean9071 I think since she is about 5 years old, surely she must have belonged to someone at some time. I guess I'll never know how she came to be starving at one point in her life. I'm glad you take care of the feral cats.
@@CarnivoreRamblings-iy3py Bless you for caring for her. She most certainly had a family at one time. Perhaps her owner passed away or she wandered too far and couldnt find home. Either way, you are so kind and caring to provide shelter and food for her. Yes, it is the right thing to do, but not everyone would do it.
@@tonybarnes3658 thank you. I love cats and always wanted one. But I would never go purposely get one that I knew would have to stay outside. She loves being here though and she stays in the backyard, rarely even going out in the front yard unless we are out there.
Thank you for caring for this kitty. And with allergies too!! Most viewers are aware showing belly is a sign of trust, the ultimate compliment but it is usually NOT an invitation to pet them there. Princess is likely politely telling you to pet her somewhere else and likely not playing. 🐾 💕

Thank you. I hope I will eventually stop reacting. I would love to cuddle her.
ask if there is al allergist near you - shots are super easy to do and can make an enormous difference.

@mariarohmer2374 yes, Benadryl helps a lot with the sneezing and wheezing

That's interesting. I had someone recently tell me they used to be allergic but now they aren't. Hope that happens with me.
Beautiful cat, thank you for saving her
That's a sign of trust and love when she is on her belly near you
I was wondering about that. I'm no expert on cat behavior. That's what my son said, that it means she trusts me.
@CarnivoreRamblings-iy3py my rescue is still very timid and took a few years to earn her trust
But she does the same thing
She is so pretty❤
Of course, she's happy! This is her home. Her first home and first family. She's over the moon!

Cat shelter looks good. Add an overhang above the opening so the elements won't get in.
good idea
