I ended up returning my Lyric thermostat and instead buying a Honeywell 9000 wifi stat. I like the 9000 stat very well. It doesn't have the geofencing or the cool form factor of the Lyric, but it works better for me.
I've had mine for a few years. Came in after work and it was dark, the removeable face was VERY hot. I pulled it off the wall. Watched a few fix vids but opted rather to just get a basic Nest.
I hate the fact that you need the app to switch between the fan being on/auto. You can’t do it through the thermostat manually, specifically when they’re doing maintenance on the app, is completely inaccessible.

Are you say the original are you talking about a T 87 F The biggest problem is there Wi-Fi connection the average person has no problem but someone who doesn’t understand that sort of thing is in trouble. Nest is far simpler to hook up to the network . Your pro.and cons. are exactly the way I see it. My Geo fence has never worked properly.

Can it be turned off ? I don't have Wi-Fi in the home I don't want to connect it to my phone I just want to turn the stupid thing off

What should I do if I get an error when registering the thermostat, it tells me that it was already registered with another user?
How do you access the Em. Heat options if say the primary heat pump outdoor unit fails

junk don't buy it, works great until it can't find wifi - can't self reset with instructions & over an hour on hold to get Honeywell help!!!

T stat is a piece of junk. 2 yr old and it keeps saying, connecting everything I twist to change temp
I agree all tech sucks on document/ instructions, paper copy every time
