because counting in quarter notes never really feels syncopated, you get that discordant sound when you start doing odd times in 8th and 16th notes so that you really feel the accents. This really is just 4/4 but he arbitrarily decided to end phrasing after the 7th measure.
Thank you very much, I appreciate that a lot and I definitely want to finish this at some point now :) I'm not really used to making this type of music so at the time I felt like it probably wasn't very good
love how 7/4 has always that short moment at the 7th bar when youre expecting a release, but its like nope here we go again bar 1 xD i dont know a lot of such tracks, but its fun discovering one every now and then.
if you want a masterclass on the sevens you should check out the album nonagon infinity, its filled to the brim with catchy riffs in 7 among other odd sigs like 11 and 5 but it all just kind of works
Risk of Rain 2's soundtrack also has a lot of really cool stuff in wierd time signatures... would suggest Into the Doldrums (makes really cool use of 14) and The Raindrop that Fell to the Sky (does some really wierd stuff with 10/4 and doubletime). Would highly reccomend it and it's DLC.
omg yes 7/4 jungle breakcore is some of the most fun! a song i made called eternity with you is in 7/4 and it was so much fun to make, you might like it!
I have been working on a finished version for a while, but now I feel quite bad for letting the sampled melody carry it so hard you can find the sample i used here, it's from a GBA game: th-cam.com/video/mBYoAwwEvQ8/w-d-xo.html i was initiallly only just testing how drum breaks can be sliced and sound pretty cool, but i realise most of the positive feedback i've gotten is probably as a result of the sample fitting really well and not necessarily because of me as a result I might try and replace the sample with something else by the time i complete it, because i don't use unchopped samples often and it makes me feel guilty thank you very much for your comment anyway :)
@@xygn33b you have the skill, it just takes a bit of patience! I’m trying to re-learn Breakcore and amen music, as I switched daws, but it definitely takes patience. It is usually worth it for me though.

woah.... great chops. you make 7/4 feel natural.
thanks :)
Another artists that made a pretty good 7/4 song is Tanger, not the same genre but it’s always impressive!
