gotta 🙏thank my dad who listens to this type of music, he’s got noice👍 taste. he’s a big fan of new wave, indie rock, post punk, alt rock, being a 1980s kid . don’t hear this type of music that much in 2020s, very rare . love the sound of the echoey 🎸guitar melodies & that bass guitar, so cool. if ure looking for a band that sounds like this in the 2020s ‘surf rock is dead’.
Wire Train opened for Big Country on their The Crossing tour, what a wonderful night. These guys just lit up with infectious energy. When they left Big Country carried the torch ending a remarkable night. My sister got to meet the members of Wire Train backstage, she didn't come down for weeks after...lol.
Gotta love the San Francisco sound of the 80's...Red Rockers...Translator...these guys had at least a couple LP's full of great songs...saw them perform live at the Paradise in Boston way back then....
I saw Red Rockers open for U2 at the Cow Palace in 1983, performing their hit song 'China', among others..they were cool, for sure. But, they were from NOLA; they were just recording on 415 Records..I remember hearing that even back then
Heard this song yesterday on the SiriusXM classic new wave channel. Can't get it out of my head. I love this song. Never knew they were on AB. I had this song on a much played mix-tape my older sis ripped off from a frat party and never knew the group's name until the late 90's. Man, I love this song.
Time machine! Boom! 1987 i am at a party in lower camp, picop. My friend Aileen brought her brother's LP containing this single. One of my fave. Back then, big hair, baggy pants, and just learning to drink beer!
Awesome talent!! I met these guys when they played the West End club in Chicago. It sucks that bands like Wire Train aren't appealing to the masses of asses!
I have their album. No soul no strain - I loved every track especially crashing back to you - looks like they changed vocalists - that was released in the early 90s - am loving this one though
I remember back in the day (in the 80's) there was an AM station in the San Ysidro/ Tj area.. Mighty 690 they played a lot of 80's then came in 83 in the FM dial 91x with Steve West (god bless his soul) The only way to discover new music was in the radio (or Mtv if you had cable i didint) so for me to listen to these classic songs brings back classic 80's😇memories... So almost every night just for nostagia purposes (because back in the 80's i used to listen to the radio like from 8 or 9pm to midnight) i program my stereo in sleep mode and there is a station Big Fm 100.7 while no up to par whit the stations of back in the day... At least they put a decent amount of 80's music and as i fall to sleep i travel back...
Halt and Catch Fire brought me here too! Crazy to imagine only the guitar loop made me wonder what the song was. The song is not even play as a main song in the show but simply as a background sound in a party. Crazy show, crazy tune
tinha escutado uma vez essa musica e desde então procuro por ela, achei sem querer, ela é simplesmente dopadora de ritmos dos anos 80, a melhor época de musicas de qualidade e personalidade artistica.
I just fallen on this video when i was wanting for Red rokers:china/ another anthem of the 80s!/ for beginers: try to wacht: wire train: Skill of summer / ocean/ so sad this guys was so underrated on their time/ many followers in latinamerica of this band/ great band!
Any other Bay Area 80s kids with glitchy memories remember when they did a live set the day a local radio station was shutting down and played "Ronnie Raygun Blues"? (The lyric that sticks in my mind is "I've got the Ronnie Raygun blues / I like to watch his neck skin wiggle as he chews", which I'm not nearly creative enough to have come up with myself, ha.) My search-fu has failed me. On one hand, I'm glad my teenage indiscretions were before the days of phone cams and social media. OTOH a lot of amazing performances didn't get archived.
@GuitarGuy5000000000 Yes I have the interview too. They didn't perform any other song on this particular show though but in 1987 they performed on AB again with "She Comes On".
Wow! Nice when an old friend from way back in the day (Kurt on vocals) turns up on youtube. Remember summer we spent a few nights at the Mudd Club, particularly when we saw X! Good times
2:14. LOL. That's really up there with The Hooters' own bassist's jigs. Get on with your bad self LOL. Blink and you'll miss it, but his head doesn't move an inch while the rest of him had a small convulsion
That surprised me, too, as they were local alt darlings in San Francisco, but good for them. Over thirty years later, I finally get to see this. :) Quality music.
2023 and still listening to this gem ♫♪

File under “Should have been a chart topper”. A bloody fantastic song that aged wonderfully.
I still remember exactly what I was doing when this wonderful song came on 91x in San Diego... it was a golden era.
Yeah! I feel tua same!
I listened to 91X in Victorville, way in the high desert. The signal was not that great, but it was the best station out there!

Saying HELLO! 11/30/2024!! This song just popped in my head!! ❤
Romeo Void, yet another GREAT band from the Bay Area back then..
The Kinks / The Jam ! I saw Romeo Void at Hollywood Palladium the night Andy Partridge from XTC had a nervous breakdown.
Best music from the best era, the 80's!
Love this tune, used to zip around San Diego in my VW thing with this song blaring, along with a lot of Morrissey too
The young man on the guitar down stroking is killing it!. This is a beautiful song
Love the bass player dancing.
Una excelente banda estadounidense que le dió un nuevo brillo a lo que en ese tiempo se le denominaba : New Wave.
One of the best LP’s of the 80’s, still in rotation to this day!
¡Gracias DOBLE NUEVE!
Classic New Wave 80s rock.

Lars Swenson Yeah baby! This takes me back to when I was a kid. I played this record and loved it. I can still boogie to it.
Heard this on Halt and catch fire and just had to look this up.I grew up in the 80's but i never heard this.
Halt and Catch Fire brought me here as well! What a great show.
@@cptgerret Me too and I had a couple of Wire Train cassettes

Lucky enough to see them 2x in NYC - GREAT SHOWS!!! dj
A LIVE 105 favorite!
Drummer is from Argentina Federico Gil Solá ... He play in a band call Divididos in his native country Argentina in the 90´s .
Lo echaron por mal comportamiento y problemas con el cantante Ricardo Mollo en el año 1995.

brilliant..! thank you for posting this video!
Such a great song, it's on an 80s new wave comp CD I have put out by Sony.
I really like this video. Happy New Years Everybody.
This is without a doubt the most accomplished lip syncing I've ever seen. They're DEDICATED, even if they're not plugged in.
if you look closely, you'll see the jacks are plugged into the guitars and bass.
@@pusanghalaw Yes, but are the speakers plugged in?
consider yourself lucky, not many bands nowadays
have the simple skill of something called "musicianship"! :)
Still better than any crap played now a day's!
❤cool
Wow only 100k views I think I’ve watched this at least 1000 times
when music was still happy and enjoyable to dance

I Saw the guitarist way of playing immitated by the late Teddy Diaz of the Dawn during their stint at Concert at The park in Luneta Park.

The best voice in the band.

Todos sus discos son parejos!
No offense meant, but I LOVE Federico as their drummer!!! DJ
Ah, I know. I was like "dammit!" when I first heard it wasn't live :). Yeah they were criminally underappreciated.
@neXiumvideos Thanks for the reply. Very cool. I'd be cool to see if you decide to upload it. Peace!

Sirius XM "First Wave" plays great new wave '80s
American Bandstand?? Didn't think they were that hip...or is this something else with same initials?
+pmccservices Yes it's American Bandstand. The title would be way too long if I used that, that's why I wrote AB. :)
That surprised me, too, as they were local alt darlings in San Francisco, but good for them. Over thirty years later, I finally get to see this. :) Quality music.
Dick Clark did his best to get up and coming New Wave bands on AB
*Halt And Catch Fire*
