He pressed 218kg/480lbs at The Strongman Classic 2024 in front of a SOLD OUT Royal Albert Hall on his second attempt!!
This is major deja-vu from Iron Biby's incredible 217kg in 2021!
    Unbelievable from The Moose!

@ThunderbackOG Just to elaborate, the competitors receive points based on rankings. This means that Hooper only needed to lift heavier than all of the other competitors, in order to receive the maximal amount of points. Whether or not he got the world record wouldn't change the amount of points he gets. So if he only cares about his rankings, he wouldn't need to attempt the WR at all.

That is very honest because it isn’t pure pressing power… its more technique. But the credit still goes to him, he took almost 500lbs from the ground and held it over his head. He took the weight from a to b, same as other strong men. However when eddie hall pressed the 216 for example, that was pure pressing power!, he didn’t even jump the weight a bit.

There are dozens of guys at 110 kg Body Weight slinging 220 kg in the clean and jerk. The World Record Clean and Jerk is 49 kg more than this (267 kg)... It hasn’t been Eddie’s record since 2021. Check out the flintstone lift from WSM if you want to see how these boys compare on a regular bar

OLY lifters only OLY lift. Not that wild given that fact and the bar and discs being different.

They specialize in only two lifts. Hoop does it all! Nonetheless, you make a good point!

It's quite amazing, in my job as a floorlayer we have to move 200kg rolls of vinyl and just moving them around at ground level, between two of us is very hard so to lift something even heavier than that above your head really puts things into perspective and the strength is just amazing.

Insane lift, but Eddie’s 216 kg strict press record will always hold a special place for me

So happy for Mitchell to accomplish this at Giants! Hopefully we get to see Thor get an official Deadlift record soon.

No one complained when Martins did the split jerk, great effort and it looked like there's still a few more pounds to go.

I am impressed, but not surprised. Hooper is as intelligent as he is strong, and that shows in his methods. Well done! 👏

Now Bibby will probably come back and Break 220 KG. Eddie said in a interview back in 2019 i believe that he thought the day he broke the record he could have lifted 230 KG but he was focused on winning worlds.

New Axle jerk record. Wonder why they keep this name, i mean if they want to allow it thats one thing, rules are rules, just the name is not correct anymore.

Congratulations sir! Amazing lift and from what I understand you are not crazy heavy like a lot of the other guys which makes it even more impressive. This single lift may be the number one best test of human strength. Must have a strong lower body, have to be able to clean heavy weight, have a strong grip because of how thick the bar is and must have a very strong upper body to press it over head!

Amazing to fail on 2 tries, then catch your breath and succeed on the 3rd. The most I have ever deadlifted is 200k x 5. Doing 218 overhead is nuts. All the best to him.
