I'd pick Mike's dish because it looked the most appetizing to me, but also for that awesome looking corn! Jamie would be a close second, with Barry bringing up the rear, but only because I don't care for aubergine.
All 3 look good, but man, when Barry took out the lanb stew, I knew, this is somethig special. ...How come that Barry either blow it up or cramp it up? He is never standard. Kinda like it. 😁
I donno why but I always feel as though Mike is just overlooked in all of these videos, but it was a fantastic video and if it wasn’t so expensive I would want one!
Three amazing meals - can't wait to try them! Agree with the rating (and my goodness Barry's looked good) but down to personal taste (and taste alone... so far as you can imagine on the internet without tasting it) I'd go for Jamie's! I just love food where the cutlery is the food itself (nacho's).
For a recipe to get included on the machine, I agree with Ben. The lamb was the one I was most eyeing off as something I'd love to cook, with Mike's second.
I'm biased against smoked paprika as well, and I dislike corn, yet Mike's dish still looked the best to me and I agree with your order. Barry's dish was aesthetically pleasing, but Mike won me over by making additional side that seemed to pair well with the main dish.
OMG we WILL be making Mike's corn dish tomorrow which is our Thanksgiving here in the states, because we LOVE adding in something new each year and that corn is a winner! THANK YOU Mike!!
Awww I think Mike won this one. Barry's looked great 👍 but his is something that he could do already pretty quickly. Mike brought two to the table and it looked delicious 😋
Being from New Orleans I’m really excited to see how Mikes goes! I’m used to the traditional - leave it cooking all day slow cook. If this goes well it will be amazing!
@@aerynea that does make me wonder. andouille sausage is such a staple in New Orleans jambalaya (at least for me) - as well as a third item chicken. Those are the flavours that would remind me of home. Chorizo has such a distinct flavour, and that oil that comes from it that may change it for me.
They did a number of substitutes based on being in the UK I think - not sure if Andouille is impossible to get in the UK, but I would have thought it'd be available without too much trouble. Then again, in Europe at large it might be hard to find in a lot of places. They also subbed feta for cotija on the elotes (not a bad substitute, but different). I don't think I've ever seen a Mexican salsa include bell pepper, though it wouldn't shock me if it existed. That was the weirdest one to me
@@ribosomes3227 Most British jambalaya recipes use Chorizo I’m afraid! Andouille is certainly more available here now than a few years ago and certainly they’d be able to get their hands on it in London. However as this video seemed to be focused on midweek meals they were probably trying to use ingredients you’re more likely to find in your supermarket. You are definitely able to find chorizo there, but you probably won’t find Andouille.
i mean....the thing in this video that made me actually notice a difference from their normal (glorious) flailing around was the LACK of a Huttlestorm. might have to check this product out then
Spotting SortedFood in the wilds of TH-cam. Ebbers and Baz in the Korean Englishman's latest video intro. Collab in the works? Maybe have a best Korean Sandwich contest with the normals and the best sammy goes on the KE restaurant menu? Hat-trick for Jamie!?
Yeah, watched that promo this morning and I'm really looking forward to seeing SORTED eating there and talking about it (plus the always interesting Tom Scott).
I loved all three dishes but honestly I would have chosen Mike's dish as 1st and Jamie's as second. The fact that you can create all these meal in this machine and free you up to do other things I find fantastic. Well done all three of you. I enjoy watching you guys and learning new dishes to try out :)
I love fusion food, and 1 I'd like to try on the Omni Cook is Creamy Seafood Tom Yum Pasta! Ingredients: 250g Pasta 1 stalk lime leaves 3 bird's eye chilli 1 stalk lemongrass 2 slices of ginger 2 tbsp of Tom Yum Paste 1 cup of cooking cream 2 tbsp of butter Lime slices Salt Pepper As desired: Squid Shrimps Mussells Or any other seafood! 1) In a pot, boil pasta until al dente (follow packaging instructions). 2) In a pot over medium heat, melt butter. Add in chopped chillis, ginger, smashed lemongrass and lime leaves. 3) When fragrant, add in tom yum paste. 4) Once tom yum paste incorporated, add in cooking cream. Still until all is well combined. 5) Add in the seafood and leave to cook for about 5 minutes. 6) Toss in pasta and enjoy! Add in a squeeze of lime for that extra kick! Simple! #TOKITSquad
Great video! I rarely disagree with Ben but this time I might have done them a bit different as to ranking. Then again, I didn't taste them but based on that missing I'd have picked Mike to win. I do trust Ben's taster, though. Great vid, guys! :)
Honestly this video was so good!! Loved the recipes that Barry made, lamb looked stonking! I'm definitely going to get an omnicook! On my Christmas wish list 😍
This is interesting.... Love it boys.... A battle idea.... Chef vs normal battle.... What if Ebbers gets 30 mins, but a normal got 45 mins with the Omni cook....
Still waiting for my TOKIT to get shipped to me, but now I am excited to try some of the recipes on it. Also need to try Mike's corn and I don't need to wait for that so that's a winner in my book.
Literally cooking a cheesy corn dish for dinner right now after being inspired by Mike's dish; while snacking on snacking cheese while the corn cooks, inspired by Jamie.
Just watching... for mid-week and easy.. I'd have to go with Mike's dish.. as they all pointed out there was "Not A Huttlestorm in sight." and THAT in is self kind of sells the machine to me. 30 minutes and not a panic filled meal prep?
1: Mike 2: Jamie 3: Barry (no offense) Mike's jambalaya made me want to make a jambalaya later this week, and it's certainly cold enough here. And the fact that he fried off some elote to go with it was *chef kiss*
I can't get over the fact that these normals keep forgetting to salt their food (this happens A LOT on Sorted). That is the most basic, universal cooking rule that applies to pretty much all dishes (you either add salt or something very salty like soy/fishsauce) including many deserts and most baked goods. These guys know how to make the different types of meringue by memory, but can't remember to taste the food they're cooking and identify a lack of salt (or just put salt in by reflex even if you don't taste). How have they been awarded basic seasoning badges?
I guess it all depends on the person. I’ve had to learn not to impulsively reach for the salt shaker because my health situation changed and salt can no longer be a huge part of my general diet. I’ve gotten real creative with other seasonings, but when I’m cooking for others I can easily forget that’s a thing. Obviously that may not be the case for any of these folks, but time stipulations can make a huge difference and cause something “basic” to be left out. If I was doing a thirty minute challenge and I needed to remember how to make a Swiss meringue and to season with salt, my brain would probably prioritize the more important matter.
3rd - Mike : when the sidedish that didnt use the machine is the star it's hard to give credit to the main dish and its use with the machine. 2nd - Jamie : It's chili and nachos. Also kinda put off by using the same sauce for three things and that sorta homogenizes it. You'd want the salsa to have a different impact from the chili and the guac or you'd just toss them all in the chili in the first place. 1st - Barry : Variety, multiple layers all using the machine. Flavor balances out as you're not supposed to really eat them separate. Props.
We bought the Tokit based on your last video alone, we have been using the recipes that are on the app whist getting familiar with it but having watched this video we're excited to free style it :)
It's an easy choice for me. Half my family is from Louisiana... I'd go jambalaya every time... oh and Mike was surprisingly chill in this battle... I'd reward that.
I think Mike won that. The main dish sounded excellent with a side dish that just left me drooling. I think the one part dish Barry made was super inviting but if I was looking for a meal I think Mike made a much more complete package. P.S. Jamie did good too P.P.S Bring back the Public Dislikes
Slow-Cooked Beef Chilli My family loves this recipe, and Im sure the Omni Cook can make this an easy recipe to make! It contains "unusual" additions, but the umami flavor is awesome! And we love how almost everything uses "1" (e.g 1 tbsp / 1 tsp / 1 can / etc.) Ingredients: 500g of ground beef 4 cloves of garlic (minced) 4 tbsp of tomato puree 1 onion (diced) 1 can of tomatoes (crushed) 1 tbsp of dried oregano 1 tbsp of cumin powder 1 tbsp of chilli powder 1 tbsp of paprika 1 tbsp of cayenne pepper (optional) 1 tbsp of oil 1 cup of beef stock 1 tbsp of Worchestershire sauce 1 tbsp of fish sauce 1 tbsp of soy sauce 1 tsp of cocoa powder Salt Pepper Brown sugar 1) Add oil into a pot. Saute onions and garlic until fragrant. 2) Add the seasonings (cumin powder, chilli powder, oregano, paprika, cayenne pepper). Stir constantly until fragrant. 3) Add in the ground beef and stir to mix the spices with the beef. Allow the beef to brown. You can remove the juices and save them into another bowl. 4) Add in the beef stock, Worchestershire sauce, fish sauce, soy sauce and cocoa powder. Be sure to deglaze the pan. Add in the saved juices from earlier. 5) Add in tomato paste and the can of tomatoes. Season with salt, pepper and brown sugar to your liking. 4) Bring the pot to a very gentle simmer and cover with a lid. Let it cook for 4-5 hours. After it is done, you can top it off with toppings of your choice! Be it kidney beans, sour cream, green onions, peppers, etc! It will always taste good! #tokitsquad
Mike's jambalaya takes the win for me - and the lack of a Huttlestorm was quite frankly shocking - I've gotten so used to his flapping to see him so calm I was like "Who are you and what have you done with Mike?" hehe - but cracking jobs all round, even if the seasoning game needs work ;)

Video did its job…entertained me, and made me seriously consider buying a whohaa for myself. Well down lads.
just FYI this device is $800
I'm now absolutely starving. Well done. Mike, phenomenal dish and calm Mike we like x
Hello, how are you doing pretty?
I adore these battles!! They're always so fun!
We're so glad you enjoy them :)
Jamie- 3rd
Barry- 2nd
Mike- 1st
Jamie and Barry had issues with seasoning and Mike's only criticism was the extra paprika.
Mikes Jambalaya was a bit to "soupy" as well while Ben didnt call it out they did joke about it
Also Extra Paprika is also a Seasoning Issue XD
Yay for another battle! Love these.
Hello, how are you doing Anna?
i welcome the return of more three way cooking battles again, always loved these
Video idea: Who can save the most time, using kitchen gadgets, compared to the traditional recipe. In a given time frame if needed.
All 3 look good, but man, when Barry took out the lanb stew, I knew, this is somethig special. ...How come that Barry either blow it up or cramp it up? He is never standard. Kinda like it. 😁
Lovely!! Without tasting, but trying to keep in mind badges and such, I’d have gone Mike, Jamie, Barry.
I am decluttering my kitchen to show off this beauty in all it's glory on my worktop!. Great show and tasty dishes!.
A Christmas battle would be so good!! Who can make the best side dish for the turkey! Ben be the judge 😂😂
Good episode, and deserved winner in Barry as he did both his components using the machine instead of relying on having a hob or oven.
I donno why but I always feel as though Mike is just overlooked in all of these videos, but it was a fantastic video and if it wasn’t so expensive I would want one!
Honestly, I give them all an equal first place. Those are amazing dishes to complete in half an hour. Bravo!!
I love battle vids! Seeing different recipes on the same brief is one of my favorite parts of Sorted.
"pinch of salt" - adds probably as much salt as I add to all my food in one week🤣🤣🤣
Proud of you guys cleaning up as you go. Stayed cool and focused. That matters. Successful.
Mike won that hand's down. A dish like that is supposed to have some kick!
I think the issue was that Mike did it by accident if it was intendet by Mike it might have not been bad for him
For a recipe to get included on the machine, I agree with Ben. The lamb was the one I was most eyeing off as something I'd love to cook, with Mike's second.
🥇Mike - he did the most flavour wise. I think Ben is biased against the extra smoked paprika!
🥈Barry
🥉Jamie
I'm biased against smoked paprika as well, and I dislike corn, yet Mike's dish still looked the best to me and I agree with your order. Barry's dish was aesthetically pleasing, but Mike won me over by making additional side that seemed to pair well with the main dish.
Exactly right choices, Ben! That looks like an amazing machine for a new household.
I'd definitely go for Mike's first, then Jamie and Barry in a very close 2nd and 3rd.
Me too. I agree
Well done every one, you done it within time. It likes lovely. Mike you should win .
OMG we WILL be making Mike's corn dish tomorrow which is our Thanksgiving here in the states, because we LOVE adding in something new each year and that corn is a winner!
THANK YOU Mike!!
I loved this video ! We didn't see any normals panicking and the three dishes looked really good and very impressive
Barry's dish looked sensational and was well chosen as the winner. He was so happy. And no hobs were left on in the making of this.
Ben: "You're hitting all my good spots"
Jamie & Barry: "Well done, you!"
😂
Awww I think Mike won this one. Barry's looked great 👍 but his is something that he could do already pretty quickly. Mike brought two to the table and it looked delicious 😋
I love Mike's comment in the blooper - no one is going to read a paper in the next room!!! I'd much rather sulk in the same room lol!
Being from New Orleans I’m really excited to see how Mikes goes! I’m used to the traditional - leave it cooking all day slow cook. If this goes well it will be amazing!
What are your thoughts on chorizo being used?
@@aerynea that does make me wonder. andouille sausage is such a staple in New Orleans jambalaya (at least for me) - as well as a third item chicken. Those are the flavours that would remind me of home.
Chorizo has such a distinct flavour, and that oil that comes from it that may change it for me.
@@katherinetusa181 that's kinda how I felt too. I can't really picture the flavor being much like a jambalaya! Not that I wouldn't try it lol.
Great video guys! I think the rankings are 1st Mike, 2nd Barry 3rd Jamie
i mean....the thing in this video that made me actually notice a difference from their normal (glorious) flailing around was the LACK of a Huttlestorm. might have to check this product out then
Frees up time to tidy and clean! haha
This kept me glued. Definitely nice to watch and see all that can be done with the ToKit. #ToKitSquad
Mike! All day. Smokey/spicy is what jambalaya is. But they all knocked it out of the park. They're looking better, these normals
Ingredients:
250g Pasta
1 stalk lime leaves
3 bird's eye chilli
1 stalk lemongrass
2 slices of ginger
2 tbsp of Tom Yum Paste
1 cup of cooking cream
2 tbsp of butter
Lime slices
Salt
Pepper
As desired:
Squid
Shrimps
Mussells
Or any other seafood!
This is my favourite channel. I especially like it when you explain everything so nicely. I wish you a lot of success with the channel and happy life.
“The touch screen, is it nose?” - Jamie Paul Romanio Spafford, Food Remixer, 2021.
Don’t lie, we’ve all thought this lol
Great job and an amazing way to promote the TOKIT Omni Cook! The lamb dish looks so good, need to cook that one myself!
love that jamie prepared a beer for himself and himself only in the "empty fridge in the studio kitchen that is specifically for filming" lol
I love the way Jamie thinks!
GREAT idea!
The spread at the end is like a buffet. Such fun!
Still waiting for my TOKIT to get shipped to me, but now I am excited to try some of the recipes on it. Also need to try Mike's corn and I don't need to wait for that so that's a winner in my book.
Well now you will get to try Barry's dish for yourself too! :)
Literally cooking a cheesy corn dish for dinner right now after being inspired by Mike's dish; while snacking on snacking cheese while the corn cooks, inspired by Jamie.
A 30 minute battle in 16 minutes. SortedFood is now bending time to its will.
Their kitchen is in a back room if the TARDIS 😂🤣😂🤣
I always either get to cook to or eat to these videos, I love it!
Would love to see a vegan or vegetarian dish incorporated when you do videos like these.
They do quite a few vegetarian/vegan episodes!
Mike, Bazza, Jamie. All look great and will be trying upgrading my stew but Mike smashed it.
Just watching... for mid-week and easy.. I'd have to go with Mike's dish.. as they all pointed out there was "Not A Huttlestorm in sight." and THAT in is self kind of sells the machine to me. 30 minutes and not a panic filled meal prep?
Love the comment by Barry... "But you still came in last." LOL, he just had to point that out.
"He's got a clean bottom." - Yet another difference between the TOKIT and a toddler.
1: Mike
2: Jamie
3: Barry (no offense)
Mike's jambalaya made me want to make a jambalaya later this week, and it's certainly cold enough here. And the fact that he fried off some elote to go with it was *chef kiss*
Hello, how are you doing pretty?
I can't get over the fact that these normals keep forgetting to salt their food (this happens A LOT on Sorted). That is the most basic, universal cooking rule that applies to pretty much all dishes (you either add salt or something very salty like soy/fishsauce) including many deserts and most baked goods. These guys know how to make the different types of meringue by memory, but can't remember to taste the food they're cooking and identify a lack of salt (or just put salt in by reflex even if you don't taste). How have they been awarded basic seasoning badges?
Very good point. For me, *tasting* is a reflex action, the seasoning naturally follows.
Props.
No, I think Mike deserved to take this one.
Hello, how are you doing Yolanda?
We bought the Tokit based on your last video alone, we have been using the recipes that are on the app whist getting familiar with it but having watched this video we're excited to free style it :)
@SortedFood Can we get all 3 recipes in the mid week packs app? Specifically Mike's?
It's an easy choice for me. Half my family is from Louisiana... I'd go jambalaya every time... oh and Mike was surprisingly chill in this battle... I'd reward that.
I think Mike won that. The main dish sounded excellent with a side dish that just left me drooling.
I think the one part dish Barry made was super inviting but if I was looking for a meal I think Mike made a much more complete package.
P.S. Jamie did good too
P.P.S Bring back the Public Dislikes
I agree, Mikes look the most appetizing and Ben even said Barry's dish lack seasoning SOOOOO why would he win?
Slow-Cooked Beef Chilli
My family loves this recipe, and Im sure the Omni Cook can make this an easy recipe to make! It contains "unusual" additions, but the umami flavor is awesome! And we love how almost everything uses "1" (e.g 1 tbsp / 1 tsp / 1 can / etc.)
Ingredients:
500g of ground beef
4 cloves of garlic (minced)
4 tbsp of tomato puree
1 onion (diced)
1 can of tomatoes (crushed)
1 tbsp of dried oregano
1 tbsp of cumin powder
1 tbsp of chilli powder
1 tbsp of paprika
1 tbsp of cayenne pepper (optional)
1 tbsp of oil
1 cup of beef stock
1 tbsp of Worchestershire sauce
1 tbsp of fish sauce
1 tbsp of soy sauce
1 tsp of cocoa powder
Salt
Pepper
Brown sugar
1) Add oil into a pot.
#tokitsquad
I think Mike should have won, than Barry and Jamie still in third.
Im so all about that Chilli! Spaff is so a man after my own heart!
Mike gets my first if I can have the corn recipe!
Love the videos with just the guys, so much fun!
Me: *Opens up the video and immediately sees that one Omni Cook machine*
Me: Well this should be...interesting
Let us know what you think 😃
Mike's jambalaya takes the win for me - and the lack of a Huttlestorm was quite frankly shocking - I've gotten so used to his flapping to see him so calm I was like "Who are you and what have you done with Mike?" hehe - but cracking jobs all round, even if the seasoning game needs work ;)
