Ah I was there - i know exactly where he is and Perth is just gorgeous. If I could roll the clock back 20 years I'd emigrate there in a heartbeat. What a stunning City and the rest of WA is amazing too - and so EMPTY. When you live near London everywhere is absolutely crowded, busy and hectic. Western Australia is 11 times the size of the UK with a population of c. 2.5M. It's hard to comprehend the emptiness and I LOVED IT!

First, the view, the trees are evergreen, mainly Eucalyptus, so the view isn't better in winter. Second, the most moving feature of Kings Park is that the big trees along the roads are all dedicated to individuals who sacrificed their lives in wars. A beautiful place with deep meaning.

Gday Lee, welcome to Perth where I live. Been watching your blogs now for ages, I think I have seen them all and really enjoy your sense of humour, personality and content. As I am female and over 70, that's an achievement on your part to get through to me. You got me with your chatter on your Electric Porsche.........you just have me in fits of laughter. So thanks for that.
Just one comment, well educational lesson without prejudice. You mentioned in your Kings Park tour and at the top of the DNA tower that in the Autumn when the leaves have fallen from the trees you would have a better view of Perth. Gum trees are not usually deciduous, pretty much green all year round unlike your beautiful trees in the UK. Enjoy Perth, sorry about the current heatwave..

Hi Lee. Some top tips for you to visit in Perth WA. We lived in Perth for 8 years and now back in Glasgow:
South Perth, ferry from The Lucky Shag.
Fremantle, ferry from The Lucky Shag (you'll see dolphins and can visit Fremantle markets and prison).
East Perth, The Royal Bar, great wee spot for a bite to eat and beer. It's right in a wee cove. Get the free bus from next to Myer.
Walk from East Perth over to stadium, largest pub in Australia.
WACA cricket ground, in East Perth on the free bus route.
C Restaurant, food is amazing. Restaurant at top of building revolves. Views are great.
Cottesloe beach, train from near Myer.
Hilarys further up the coast, markets and restaurants on the coast.
    Hope these help. Beautiful city😊

That's a beautiful park you're walking through before and after breakfast. But practically no one around. Well, the entire island contains only 26 million people. I expect city centres to be busy, but outside built up areas not busy at all. Shame about the toast being hard, because I thought it looked really tasty. I buy so-called artisan sourdough bread frequently, but you need to butter it while still warm. The butter, or Clover, softens it somewhat. Were those sausages pork or beef? I wonder when the full English breakfast first came to Australia? Perhaps you could ask a cafe owner.

Giving an insight into Perth, instead of just a name on a map, and I must say, I'm impressed so far. That park is truly amazing. You'd think you were out in the wilds, not so close to the city. Particualry liked the DNA Tower. It's a 'folly in essence. Wonderful. I'm thinking the food prices are very comparable to the UK btw. Basically, just halve the price of everything we see. Enjoying this trip so far, especially the classic car show.

It's 1c in Manchester with heavy sleet coming down. Even if that park is completely infested with snakes and spiders I'd rather be there than here. 🥶

A quality breakfast, good ingredient, alas no beans. Pricey because in tourist area, half that in a small cafe in Perth CBD. Good video, Kings Park is nice, been there. 8.5 for the brekkie.

13:42 Bread, I agree with you! And I live in Perth. I always ask if I can substitute the "fancy" bread with just plain white bread. That's what you need with a full breakfast. And I agree that baked beans should be included. Anyhoo...........nice reaction! And, you may have been paying slightly higher prices due to it being in Kings Park. There's plenty of other cafes and even chains that do it cheaper! xxooxx

It's Australia, of course there are snakes and spiders, but you probably won't come across them.
Always carry water with you. Bring more than you think you need. Plan where you will top your water up.
It is easy to get heat stroke in Australia if you don't know how to manage your hydration. Electrolytes will help on the really hot days.

Wow looks beautiful over there what a beautiful park. Wish I was there right now beautiful warm sunshine, here in England cold and wet. Perth certainly is one of the places on my must do list for travelling later on.
