My Xciting s400i gave me 41km from when the fuel light started flashing and then stopped, but I was not paying much attention to the economy display. I had a litre of fuel in the topbox!
On the 2022 AK 550 gas gauge there are a Red square and I think four white squares. When the Red one starts blinking I ride a bit more before getting gas, but not too much. When I go to put gas in it I can only put about 2 gallons in it....this is very strange. If it holds almost 4 gallons and it is half empty why would the Red sqaure start blinking?

Τα 287 χλμ. με 13,5 λ βγάζουν μέση κατανάλωση 4,7λ/100 χλμ. που συνάδει με την εκτίμηση πως ο μετρητής μέσης κατανάλωσης της Kymco είναι εκτός κατά 0,5 λίτρα (σου έδειχνε 4,2). Στην πραγματικότητα, αν πήγαινες με κανονικές ταχύτητες και όχι με 50-60, η μέση κατανάλωση θα ήταν αυξημένη. Το έχω το μηχανάκι 2 εβδομάδες και περιμένω να δω την κατανάλωσή του μετά το στρώσιμο. Πάντως είναι πράγματι απόλαυση να το καβαλάς και να το οδηγείς. Ευχαριστούμε για τα ωραία σου βίντεο.
Καλημέρα, σε ευχαριστώ! Στην Αθήνα δεν μου έβαλε μέχρι πάνω όταν ξεκίνησα όποτε δεν έκαψα ένα γεμάτο ρεζερβουάρ, επίσης κανένας μετρητής δεν είναι 100% σωστός. Στο ταξίδι δεν πήγαινα με 50 60, πήγαινα με 90-110 και άνοιξα και στο σημείο με το r6, 50 60 πήγαινα στο τέλος Γιατί αλλιώς δεν θα έβγαινε μέχρι το βενζινάδικο. Καλές βόλτες και καλοτάξιδο !
This is really helpful since the manual just says to fill up when you are low, but doesn't tell you that beyond the last bar flashing, it enters another flashing without a bar, so I'm wondering just how far I can go, since it says you can damage the fuel pump if you let it get too low.
Yeah I was testing when I bought it and found out. Specially when it was new fuel gauge was working completely different. The fuel works as coolant for the pump in most cars and bikes. But doesn't mean it will break if you go low. It's a good thing for me to know how far I can go with my scooter/bike. Just dont do it regularly.
@@Biketrips Yeah, I knew I had a way to go because I filled up when it was flashing and I could only put 8 litres into a tank that is meant to take 15.

Hi! very interesting video for me (as a AK550 owner in France). Just wondering something , how many liters did you put in the end when refiling? Because I am not sure we can trust the average shown on the dashboard... -> 287kms at 4,2L/100 makes 12L total.. you were supposed to have still 2.5L in the tank (again 50kms..) if the capacity is 14.5L, which I doubt. There is something wrong, either the average, either the total volume of the tank... Thanks!
Hello and thank you! 13.5 litters I filled up in the end. But the guy at Athens that filled my tank didn't fill all the way up, so I could start with some more fuel. Anyway you cant get 100% accurate reading in any fuel economy computers.

@@ardav951 j'ai fait presque 15kms avec le E qui clignote.... Mais je pense qu'on peut faire encore plus puisque je n'ai re remplis que 12.8L et dans la vidéo il fait env 40 kms de mémoire... A voir la conso moyenne donc.. mais je pense qu'on peut faire 20kms sûr sans trop se poser de questions..

A question, why don't you use Rain Mode(lose 10hp) for save more gas? You will provably arrive to 300km autonomy. Nice AK550, this bike are incredible!
Any idea why navigation doesn't work for me? It works for like max 5 minutes and then just goes back to speedometer... I have to reconnect in order to get it back... Really annoying!! Last question : do you recommend installing a new variator (from polini)?
Maybe your phone puts noodoe app in power saving mode after a while when it's in background. See it in the options of your phone. For my taste I don't really want to change variator, polini gives more acceleration. But I like more relaxed drive.
@@Biketrips I checked the power saving but i don't think it's that... It can disconnect even after 30 seconds :/ My phone is a Oneplus 5t (so chinese) I heared somewhere that the kymco app does not work so well with chinese brands (Xiaomi, Huawei, 1+)... Real shame... About the variator can it be bad for the engine in the long run?
I had Samsung galaxy s7 was working good but not connecting everytime with bluetooth, bought Xiami redmi note and navigation was pausing after 5 minutes. Now I bought galaxy10 and navigation is fast and bluetooth connects instantly.

Ειδικά μετά τα 270χλμ, λέω την πατήσαμε! Μπορώ να κάνω και πιο μεγάλο ταξίδι άμα πάω πιο χαλαρά. Αλλά αυτό που με εντυπωσιάζει είναι ότι τα έκανε όλα μαζί όσα γράφω στο τέλος.
Ωραίο βιντεάκι μας έπιασε λίγο η καρδιά μας αλλά αντέξαμε 😂 Έχεις κάνει μεγάλη διαδρομή με δεύτερο άτομο? Και εάν ναι πως είναι η συμπεριφορά του στο δρόμο?
Τις περισσότερες διαδρομές τις έχω κάνει με δεύτερο άτομο. Πολύ καλή, στρίβει πολύ άνετα είναι σαν μην έχεις καν άτομο πίσω. Με δεύτερο άτομο μαλακωνει και λίγο η ανάρτηση που είναι πολύ σκληρή με ένα άτομο, οπότε είναι και πιο άνετο με δύο.

This was a big risk, at the middle of nowhere!!! There is also the problem of overheating the fuel pump. OK, for one time is OK. As for the side cases, Givi is not producing mounting kits for the AK550... But Shad is producing!
Don't think its getting damaged so easily, I know fuel works as coolant but it would be so bad if you could ruin your pump just from running low on fuel. I know GIVI doesn't, that's why I am asking for them to do so. I know shad does but don't like plastic ones ;)

Αν εκανες 287.6 km και κατανάλωσες 13.5-14 lt (το τεποζιτο χωραει 14.5) τότε η κατανάλωση σου ήταν 4.7-4.8 και οχι 4.2 που γράφει ..αρα θεωρώ οτι στον μετρητή υπάρχει μια απόκλιση, οχι αμελητέα, της τάξεως 0.6lt/km. Σωστα ?
Σχεδόν όλοι οι μετρητές έχουν μια απόκλιση, και το ποσό είχε μέσα ακόμα, κατά προσέγγιση πάντα. Αλλά εντάξει κοντά 300 χιλιόμετρα με τόσο ρεζερβουάρ είναι καλά.
I'm not too sure you're correct about the windshield not being aerodynamic. It's much better that the wind buffeting against a flat surface of the chest. You didn't drop down to "Rain Mode" wouldn't that have saved you some gas?

2017-2020 model supposedly had 15L capacity (it didn't, at best it had 14L) the new model has 12.5L, in my opinion it's low for that machine. In general good performance machine, readability it's not so good.

Any thoughts on the new Kymco Xciting s 400i compared with the Honda Forza 300 - 2019 ? I am having a hard time deciding which one to purchase.

Its sure more aerodynamic than a body, but less than a windscreen that has less degrees of angle.
Rain mode infect consumes more fuel. Been reported by others as well.
@@Biketrips Interesting! I have keep a spreadsheet of fuel consumption for all our vehicles. I'll have to do a 2000k test on this one.
I have been checking for about 22000km,not using rain mode much, but when I do consumption goes up. Same at my aprilia who had rain mode as well.
The rain mode puts 10hp less on the road on AK550... So it has to push the same weight with 10 less power... That's why the fuel consumption is worse.

Yes, I did encounter problems, more than I would like. And yes compared to my GS1250 AK550 was more expensive to maintain..
