Purushottam sir has written an outstanding book....I have the English version. I was a student of JNU and a resident of Sutlej hostel. Sir was our hostel warden and came out as a loving human being, yet a disciplinarian! An outstanding academic and thinker of this country...we have so much to learn. Thank you sir, for this book and evwrything else. And what to say Javed Sahab!! A true Bharat Ratna🙏

Javed Ji is as rational as he always is. However, this Mr Agarwal thinks, the people of India are fools. He tries to prove with silly evidences that the direction of Mr Nehru was right. He even quotes Mr Obama that mixed economy was the best option. If Obama really thought so, he would have done something in this direction. Did he? It is the established historical fact that policies of Nehru led to division of India, dispute over Kashmir, losing war against China and leaving India as a rich country with poor people. A China with all the military might and 7 times bigger economy than India, can't dare to dictate terms to India. This is the policy in right direction............Bharat Mata ki Jai.

No one thinks that India shoul be disintegrated and merged into Pakistan, China, Bangladesh and Shrilanka. If someone thinks so, this piece of writing is not for him.
As we believe, India should exist and prosper as a nation, we need to find why are we a nation?
Some historian will say that we were never a nation. It is a creation of British. Although it may be partly true, it is not the full truth. If British were so good in building large nations, they would have kept a big one for themselves as well. Today, they are limited to a tiny island. Therefore, this argument is defeated. Some will say; Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation created India when the people of the land got united under his leadership to fight against British rule and over threw them. This argument is also not true as the people of Dhaka, New Delhi and Lahore faught togather against British though we are three different nations. Someone like Purushottam Ji says that the nationhood of India is unique in the world. It is unity in diversity. Why should we believe it? If it didn't work before 1947, why are we so confident that it will work in future?
India is an ancient cultural nation, extending from Himalaya to Kanyakumari and Hindukush to Myamar. (Even Mr Agarwal and his god Nehru Ji believed though a bit late) The geographical territory of our nation has shrunk as we haven't nourished it properly. In fact, people don't know where is the root. Therefore, we don't irrigate and nourish it. Some of us are taught that it is unity in diversity, so we spray nutrients on the branches. More precisely on weaker branches.
Without being politically correct and in the larger interest of the nation with its citizens, I reiterate with full conviction; the root and stem of our nation is its hinduness. All the branches of of diversity would flourish on it and will give vivid colours of greatness if the root is healthy and the stem is strong.
Hinduness of every citizen needs to be identified and nurtured. Everryone in the country has his or her hindu connection either by birth or through ancestry. A minor segment which believe that they migrated from somewhere else and were never hindu in any sense could be persuaded to accept the hinduness by association. A large number of indians living abroad aquire and assimilate the assence of the nationhood of the land truly and effortlessly. Therefore, it is not difficult to do the same here. However, before requesting the migrants to establish association with hinduness, the indegenous population should disply it in full frame. Arousing their hinduness and reassuring their non-political religious aspirations can be achieved easily if we make an honest attempt.
A healthy hinduness which is honest, hard working, compassionate and accomodating; can bring the old glory to our beloved Bharat Mata.
Any attack of our hinduness is an attack on 'Bharat Mata'.

His intent and policies were solely responsible for division of India, creation of Kashmir dispute, 1962 war debacle and India beling 7 times poorer than China despite having abundant natural resources. We were unfortunate to have the leader like him at the critical juncture of our history.

I respect Gandhi Ji. His thought and actions were deeply imbeded in India. He sacrificed everything including his family for the country.
Nehru wasn't the same. In fact, he was a selfish, megalomaniac and short sighted man. He didn't agree for Jinna to be the PM of united India and became instrumental in division of India. He experimented with the economic future of India and left it as a far poorer country than its potential. If Chetan Bhagat says that Nehru would have changed the economic model in 1955 when he realised that it is not working, what is wrong in it? Manmohan Singh did it in 1991 but people who carried it over the years were selfish people who sacrificed the nation for there political aspirations. The darbari historians like Mr Agarwal is still justifying it and displaying his hatred for many by mocking at them.
What was the reason behind Nehru accepting Tibet as part of China. Did he seriously feel that Tibet is inherent part of China? Was he scared of China? If he thought that it is not right why he didn't oppose? If he was scared, why didn't he align with the world powers to counter it? How could he support China for the membership of Security Council? Was he a fool or a extremely short sighted, scared leader of the largest future democracy in the world? Did he timely make any serious attempt to establish co-operation with the world powers to defend our borders. There are a number of disasters done by him which could have been prevented if he was a leader who deserved respect. For me he is a disgrace.

No one needs to associate to Hinduness as every faith teaches the same essence and principles and everyone have their own set if values, which they should adhere to by understanding it correctly. Those migrated here dint come as refuges but by conquering the land. And even if someone's ancestors were Hindu as long as as they chose another faith no one has the right to ask them to associate with another faith. Not even ancestors even if today someone wants to leave Hinduism and follow another faith, or leave other faith and follow Hinduism they as human being have full right.
Stop associating religion with nation which is the root cause of all problems

I think the reason why Pt. Nehru is targeted today is because the India, in current shape and form, is the manifestation of Nehru’s frame of thought, vision and ideas. Those extreme right wingers have fundamental problem with progressive Indian fundamentals. In order to counter the Indian thought process, it is important to ridicule the foundation of this thought process. So attack Nehru which will eventually result in demolition of modern Indian foundation.
