    I've made this comment before elsewhere, but I'm amazed by the quality of the audio transcription stuff. I have a low-quality scratchy sound recording of an interview of an old man (in his 80s) with a very pronounced broad (UK West-country) accent talking about his WW1 service as a stretcher-bearer. The interview also appears to have happened at the bottom of a metal bucket with double-decker buses passing by! The interviewer at the time found it hard to understand the answers, and kept asking the interviewee to clarify and to repeat things. The transcript shows that DV mostly "understood" it all first time, and almost perfectly. It even managed obscure English and Italian country place names with surprising accuracy. And the speed with which DV did it was just unbelievable.

    Can I make a request:
    To your point about the Transcription feature creating a new workflow, I’d love to see you guys do a comprehensive Workflow video, including transcription, but using Cloud, Annotation, the Chat features, Remote Monitoring…
    Imagine a new Documentary, with tons of Interviews, B-Roll, Stock Footage, Photos & Documents.
    For simplicity also imagine a Director/Producer w an iPad, and an Editor, Colorist, and Sound Mixer, all in separate cities.
    All 4 working simultaneously from the same Cloud project.

    • @team2films
      @team2films  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely 100%. We would love to create an end-to-end masterclass like that, especially featuring Blackmagic Cloud and showing people working remotely in the project simultaneously. Resolve is unique in it's ability to support those kind of workflows.
      We're working on ideas. It'll take a lot of time and resources so we are on the look out for the right opportunity and support to produce something properly epic like that.
      I'm not sure when, but we will produce that at some point. Thanks for watching and commenting, great to have you here.

      @team2films Resolve IS indeed unique in it's abilities, and Blackmagic is unique in it's prolific technological abilities, yet sometimes uniquely bad at demonstrating many of thier products abilities.

This is 2024… What are they waiting for? Even the crappy editing systems can do this… So please make this a major feature in resolve 19!

      Heya, yes, it's true that Resolve's interface is not as customisable as other NLEs. We don't find it to be a major challenge, as we love the way it's laid out. It's simplicity aids creativity :) There are more options for layout when you use two screens. That's our thoughts though... we appreciate others would love to be able to move panels around.

    it's almost like they're building another NLE with the Cut page lol. I cannot use the Cut page because not being able to zoom in and zoom out breaks my brain. Side Topic: when are they going to let us Create Caption from Transcription instead of having to ReTranscribe to make the subtitles??

    • @team2films
      @team2films  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. Yes, they have built another NLE with the cut page. It's super cool that any edit can be loaded in either page. The re-thinking of the editing interface has benefits for particular types of editing and particular types of editors. If you leverage it's differences, and especially if you have a speed editor, the cut page is very cool.
      That's a good idea about being able to create captions from an existing timeline transcription.

    • @team2films
      @team2films  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@melanieroyal9923Ah I see what you mean. That's a slightly misunderstanding. The free version of resolve DOES support 10-bit files. For example, any time you are playing ProRes (regular flavour) in Resolve, you are working with 10-bit footage. It even supports 12-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit, etc. There are however some codecs that the free version doesn't support, including some 10-bit variants of h.264. This is where the misunderstanding comes from. I'm not sure why those codecs aren't supported in the free version, perhaps it's to do with licensing, but there are plenty of ways to work with 10-bit plus footage in Resolve free.

    DAVINCI RESOLVE GUI sucks ! Super dark unrewadable. After 30min I do not want to use it anymore, my eyes get too tired. No GUI colors customization. I will never switch to this program until the fix this simple issue.

    • @team2films
      @team2films  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry you feel that way. Dark and grey is actually a feature that professionals want. It reduces strain (when working in a proper lit edit suite) and removes visual bias when grading.
      It is possible to change the colour of the guy from an off grey to a grey with a small amount of colour, but I guess that won't be enough customisation for you.
      Premiere is very customisable. You might enjoy that program. Thanks for watching.
