Oh my gosh wedding dress fashion evolution! 😍 Id have to say the 1980's dresses had the most ginormous sleeves😳. They were also modest, tasteful wonderful tailoring. Beautiful fabric. To me, alot of the wedding dresses now are better suited to a prom or a nightclub. I know this puts me in the minority but there you have it. Weddings are a beginning of a new chapter, from young woman to wife, mother, partner, it's so big and important and not a place for utterly revealing fashion.

Great job! So fun to absorb all the fashion and history. One correction: Sheila Rauch and Joe Jr. were not both 26 when they got married. She was 3-4 years older. And she also challenged the Catholic annulment he petitioned for when they divorced. (She even went to the Vatican to have it reversed! She wasn't Catholic, and was very bitter.) I would love to see film of Patrick Kennedy's wedding (Ted's youngest). He and his wife have a bunch of kids and he's such a great advocate for mental health awareness. Thanks again!

    Connected by a wedding veil.
The story begins in 1903, when Margaret Merritt Lee wore the exquisite rose point lace veil when she married James T. Lee, a prominent New Yorker. Some 50 years later, her granddaughters Jacqueline Lee Bouvier and Mary Lee Ryan continued the tradition at their own weddings.
In 1953, Jacqueline Bouvier married then-Senator John F. Kennedy; her first cousin, Mary Ryan, wore the veil in 1957 when she wed William A.V. Cecil, grandson of George Vanderbilt who constructed Biltmore.

When they fell in love , that was the furthest thing in their minds ! They’d met the love of their lives, didn’t wonder about how their lives would change forever! Come on people it happens to all of us , let’s not criticize only bcoz they’re the Kennedys & Catholic!

Thank you so much!!🥰 Being a Catholic and adhering to its standard of spiritual and physical way of life is hard and I Love everyone who adheres to it. Being an actual Catholic means absolute faith in the True Church, the beginning of the legacy of the Apostles, no sexual misconduct, no bigotry even if you don't agree, Love for fellow man, devotion to family and children, Faith to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. It's not for everyone and I couldn't do it but most of my Cajun relatives did, my Father's sister my Aunt Marie. Interestingly, my Aunt Marie switched faith in the last ten or fifteen years of her long life. She was angry at the priest and whatever happened she said you don't have to confess your sins to another man, only God and from them on went to another church. But for 75 years from the day she was born in a small shack in the deepest Cajun country she was dutifully raised and adhered to its principle's which makes her my Hero 🌹❤️😍🥰🌹

“Optimism and possibility” is what you say for Jackie and John F Kennedy. That quote defines the look in Jackie’s eyes and smile but I would add the word innocence. As Jackie’s life goes year by year you see these lights die and/or become tainted. It is truly sad. JFK already had a little less of the innocence as was normal for the men and women who served in WW2. So sad. I would question she found “happiness” with Onassis. Security? YES. I had never known the Vatican was against the marriage. Learn something new every day. 🙂

Her eyes were too far apart and her chin stuck out if you saw her from the side. I never thought she was beautiful, either.
