What this couple doesn't understand is that most of the world aren't gun nuts like most Americans.
💯💯💯
This. Every country has different laws. While in the US they might be surprised regarding this particular ammunition law, but in other countries they are surprised about US laws regarding drugs and prostitution, for example. When you travel abroad you have to educate yourself regarding their laws.
When Britney Griner was locked up these people called her a criminal for her small misdemeanor.
That’s because she is a black woman who doesn’t fit the profile of who they deem as a valuable human being. This is a clear example of how racism works.
"Can we just pay a fine? Its an honest mistake"
Wow the unbelievable privilege this woman has that she does not understand lmao.
Wait a minute... he was in and out of his suitcase every day while on vacation and never saw the ammo in his suitcase? Americans who travel abroad need to understand that other countries don't have the relaxed view on guns and ammo that the GOP pushes in America. Awful situation for him and his family.
He's lying. He knows what was in his suitcase. He broke the law.
Good point
@@sirmadam8183he was lying for sure.
Ridiculous to NOT clean out luggage before packing for an out of the country trip. "I forgot" and "it's not my ammo" is not an excuse.
It must be wonderful to be you and be perfect and not ever make any mistakes...
@@jujubees711 not being arrested and facing a prison term is so worth it to double check where my ammo is.
@@UncleDavesKitchen Yes, yes, yes. Prevent a problem not worry how to correct one. As soon as I'm home every bit of ammo and gun goes in one place securely. This loser had multiple opportunities to clean out his luggage after his last trip, before his next trip and many times in between. Sounds like he resents being too lazy now, whining "I didn't look."
@@jujubees711 Sounds like loser regrets being too lazy to keep track of his ammo now.
As a parent how careless and ignorant of them.
I'm for stricter gun laws in the U.S.
But in his defense, it was ammunition, not a gun they found.
@@jujubees711 No 2A outside the USA! Might want to remember to google the laws where you are going to travel.
It’s also illegal in the US to transport live ammunition in carry on baggage aboard a plane.
I wanna know how he ever got on any plane with his bags tbh.
@@HeterogeneityA US TSA inspection FAILURE 👎
It wasn’t in his carry on it was in his checked bag. You can carry ammo in your checked bag. You do have to declare it though and it needs to be in a special lock box.
But he said he forgot about it so he most likely didn't declare it. Tsa fucked up.
@myname2339 Ammunition doesn't have to be locked in a case. It has to be inside something made to hold ammunition. You can load a magazine, tape up the end, and just put it in your checked luggage.
He belongs in jail and that's where he's going 😂😂😂😂
Guns & related stuff s highly restricted & unlawful in most of the world. The US is very much an outlier. This is US gun laws causing problems for US residents overseas.
Lmao yeah blame freedom for your ignorance.
It's not about American freedom...it about American irresponsibility, selfishness, and doen right stupidity!
Too bad they are proven irresponsible parents who have modeled the WRONG behavior for their kids.

12 years sucks but no sympathy.... be a responsible gun owner... dont have bullets just rolling around in ur bag.... you can't even check ur bags properly then you cry on national TV.... boooooo oooooo
Must feel good being perfect and not ever make any mistakes like you
@@jujubees711 thanks I know.... not being stupid actually takes a second. Going to fast on the freeway is a mistake... Forgetting to wish your wife a happy anniversary mistake..... forgetting bullets and then saying that they should pay a fine and not go to jail AT ALL when its ILLEGAL in the country yeah thats being stupid and careless... Like I said before 12 years is way too long though
What was rolling around he had a bloody box of amp how the hell can you or your wife not see it
@@orlanderhenry8416 Probably in some little some pocket of a backpack or duffel bag he had taken on a hunting trip.
I don’t feel bad at all how a parent of 2 to be so careless like this. That’s what they get.
I guess following important rules goes out the window when you are forgetful and entitled..
How can someone go on an international vacation trip and not double check you have everything? He forgot it was there? What an idiot! SMDH
If he'd gotten caught by TSA in America trying to take ammo onto a jet, everyone would be fine with whatever legal consequences he received. If a tourist from Turks and Caicos was stopped at Miami International with ammo in his luggage (or drugs or contraband cigarettes or any of a million other things) and sentenced to jail, Americans would be OK with that too.
I feel really bad for this guy and his family, but the dude really screwed up. As a gun owner, he should know the gun laws in the state/country where he lives or plans to travel to and take appropriate action to keep his ass out of jail.
As a non-USA citizen, let me say loudly and clearly, the rest of us are tired of your attitudes towards guns, ammunition and the whole shootin' match! You will find this hard to believe but we too can make laws about what's legal for you to bring into OUR (not your) countries! When I look at the number of school shootings in the US and compare those stats to our (again the rest of the world) school shooting stats, we have decided we like our Children more than our ability to kill one another! Research the laws in the foreign countries you are visiting!!! And take our laws seriously as we take yours when we visit the US.💙
Well said
Get off the high horse. A majority of Americans are tired of this too.
@413smr Yet the law is unchanged and school shootings feels like another Tuesday. Turks & Caicos got tired of gun crimes and 💥 minimum 12yr sentence.
@413smr A majority can change the law, yet it's unchanged.
As a U.S. citizen I totally agree with you
Absolutely no sympathy…where was the outrage when a black lesbian basketball player was incarcerated in Russia 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤬
Brittney Griner was foolish to go to Russia and the "Merchant of Death" was released because of her. Said guy is one of the reasons why there are people that don't have food but AK 47s in the Middle East and Africa. Viktor Bout would have probably been traded at some point - but for an American soldier or something like that...
Many of the pro-gun people were beside themselves with joy when she was locked up in Russia and were bitter when they got her freed.
Terrible for anybody to have to go through. And there was outrage for Britney Griner as well. Absolutely horrible situation
My thoughts exactly.
What are you kidding? There was a ton of media coverage, sympathy, and outrage when Britney Griner was incarcerated...
So arrogant to think Americans should just be forgiven such a transgression, that we should all be crying for them. Wait till it is an American airport with a foreign tourist, will Americans then say "Oh honest mistake"? So they have ypung kids, grow up and wise up then!
And the whole "Can't they just fine us?" from Mrs. Entitled American!
Even worse. Many of these people saying “it’s just a mistake“ regarding the straight white men, were calling for Brittney Griner’s head when she was imprisoned in Russia
what an embarassment
I wish more Americans woud learn that their logic doesn't apply in foreign countries. Their laws must be adhered to regardless.
This was no accident. He's lying. He didn't forget it was in his bags. The arrogant attitude is disgusting.
Yes im sure he totally planned to bring a tiny bix of ammo he had no use for to foreign country for a family vacation. You're a crazy zealot.
He was caught on the way home. If that's the case, why was he sneaking ammunition into and then back out of a country?
NO PITY
Why did he even have ammo?
He probably used his range bag to travel or used it to carry guns and ammo on some domestic trip by car.
Because he was careless and didn't clean out his bag after using it to transport gun stuff at home probably. Sheer arrogance.
More like, how did he even get it pass airport security check points and still allowed to board the plane to Turk.
@@amazon4716 Depending how the rounds were oriented in the luggage, how busy TSA was that day and how experienced the checkers were, it's not hard to imagine how two or three could slip past.
The only thing sad about this story is that this story is what it takes for the average American to wake up and understand the risks, dangers, and responsibility of owning firearms.
I’ve been around guns, have hunted with and shot them…NEVER has there been a time when I didn’t know where my gun and ammunition was, much less NOW, we know of 4 Americans facing the same legal peril: having no knowledge of several loose rounds of rifle bullets in their carry-on bags! JFC!🤦♂️
This is madness and as insane as expecting to risk children in school shootings because most Americans want to have unfettered access to anything firearm.🤨
A Canadian perspective: what shocks my conscience is the seeming cavalier attitude American society is taking toward guns. It seems just as natural to carry and treat a gun as though it were a cell phone, iPad, pen or a toaster. I understand that they are used for hunting and target shooting, and in the hands of competent professionals, for public protection, law and order. But, just handing a gun to a teenager (the Crumbleys), leaving it lying in reach of children, shooting at people who’ve accidentally encroached on your property, and are retreating . . . It beggars understanding. I’m not anti-gun. I am for responsible gun ownership, storage and use. But I cannot support what I see in Second Amendment America, and I don’t want to see it in my country. And I imagine many in Turks and Caicos feel the same way.
Bryan & Ryan, such embarrassing examples of the ignorance of our country
They are tho
Fortunately not all countries enable America’s gun fetish.
They want sympathy from all of us. The wife’s face expressions ugh 😑
These are the same people that complain that people come here and don't follow our laws. Who keeps bullets in a suitcase and doesn't notice them while packing?
I just read in the Turks & Caicos online newspaper that many americans have been caught with ammo in their bags several times in the past and they were given a pass…. Turks decided “ No more” as they should
He is guilty but 12 years is ridiculous, I won't be going to that Island ever
Hello and would they care fella most countries don’t want you and your deplorable attitudes believing your above every other countries laws
What so surprising is that he passed through TSA on his way there.
You can carry ammo in your checked luggage as long as it’s in it’s original packaging. Assuming it was in a checked bag upon his return because he was called out by the Turks and Caicos authorities by his name. So they must have scanned his checked bags and pulled him before getting on the flight.
4 Americans are currently dealing with this in Turks and Caicos alone imagine all the others they miss!
Awe, white man facing hardship. Too bad so sad.
What's more American than getting caught with ammo in your luggage? 😅
And why should we be concerned, you follow the laws of the country you are in, he’s the stupid one.
I've been wondering how those ammo could have ended up inside his travel suitcase. Is that where people normally store things like that in their homes? How cluttered is this particular suitcase that he didn't notice the ammo during the process of packing and unpacking of his suitcase?
He, like the others, was probably using the bag as both a vacation bag, and a hunting bag. He didn’t fully unpack the bag when packing for the Turks and Caicos trip. Irresponsible and arrogant.
I don’t feel bad at all. The privilege in the way they ask to just pay a fine.
Tell's you just how great TSA is. smh. I hope he gets the full 12 years for his stupidity!
Bryan seems like the first one to take ownership of his actions & not blame TSA. Ryan & Tyler (& their families) didn't seem like they have.
He did a really stupid thing and needs to face the consequences, but I can't help but feel for the guy.
Same. Hopefully a compromise can be made. I think 5 or 6 yrs would be more fair for a first-time offender of this crime. But maybe 12 yrs is what's necessary to deter people from doing this in the future.
I find this speculation hurtful, unnecessary, & distracting when looking at the bigger issue of gun control, gun ownership, & the safety of other countries.
I will not go back & forth in the comment section about this. God bless
And Britney Griner.....or does your sympathy only go to whites
@@ChrisCupcake3 As an international traveler let me share a pro tip. When you leave America be sure to leave behind your American mindset and know the laws of where you are traveling. This is not a game. Your idea that he should get less time is the problem. That country has a law and it needs to obeyed as written. This is the chance you take when you travel internationally. If you don't like it then don't leave the USA.
Congratulations to Turks and Caicos! The rest of the world doesn't have to conform to the US's absurd obsession with firearms.
What’s all this whining about lmao. These Americans go to other countries that actually enforce their Laws and then they start complaining that they are finally facing Accountability 😅
There are laws out there that if you're gay you can be executed. Guess you support those too huh
Wait....they get to chill in an air bnb in a tropical local while waiting for sentencing? They bail, THEN gets sentenced?
I’m really getting tired of idiots getting caught with ammunition and weed in their luggage overseas and then us having to figure out a way to bail them out. WTF is wrong with these people.
The only option that might be available, is serving his prison time of 12 years in a federal prison in the US near his family so they could visit him in prison if both governments agree to the arrangement. But the terms of incarceration will be under the Turks & Caicos law; he couldn’t get an early release or parole.
12 years, man, that sucks. Are you guys among the Christian right who wanted Britney Grimes to rot in Russia for a mistake.
Your Christian, did you vote for trump? If you voted for trump, you should stay and pay the price for breaking the law. Right!!
Or, I can be a decent human who hopes both of you can come home quickly. In the meantime, we can be glad you're not freezing and being tortured in a gulag.
I like being a good person, I really do hope you both can come home soon. ❤❤❤
After reading your judgmental comment you’re definitely not as good of a person as you think. I little self awareness goes a long way Karen.
Well said
I hope you get 12 years and it wasn't just an honest mistake. Very irresponsible on your part
If the Britney Grainer story taught us anything it's to check ur luggage. These stories are sad when their are ppl out here actually committing crimes n we are locking up ppl that making honest mistakes. God bless him n his family.
I'm sure he found the ammunition while in Turks and Caicos but thought, "why waste a good box of ammo, I'll take it back to the US, what could go wrong???"
Where’s the national shaming of this man like they did to Brittney Greiner in Russia when she had CBD oil in her luggage? Not the same thing, you say? What makes it different? I don’t have to guess. I already know.
I'm sure the "they should have complied with the law" crowd and the "if they're going to come HERE they need to learn OUR culture and follow OUR laws!" people will be quick to speak out in support of the sovereign nations where these criminals broke the law with abandon.
You know if you're this irresponsible with your ammunition then you shouldn't possess a firearm! Try taking responsibility for your carelessness! You won't get 12 years. Just how do you pack a bag, use the bag during your travel and then pack it again without noticing the Ammo. You know what keeps the people of other countries awake at night is people bringing ammunition on a plane!
why is she smiling. isnt she as a wife and mother responsible for checking the bags too. I dont believe this couple. they feel being Americans they are exceptional.
Not if it’s his personal bag.
I think 5 yrs would be more understandable & then if the same person repeats the crime a second time, 12 yrs would make sense. But we need to be more respectful about other countries & their laws.
It doesn't matter what you think. You can't make up your own laws. Get real.
I agree
I saw the guy on TV and I really don't feel sorry for him and I don't feel sorry for Brittany either that basketball player over in Russia when she brought the drugs in there if you're going to go into other countries you better be darn sure or what you're doing and if you can't remember what you put in your bag or you know it's legal or illegal you better know because as far as I'm concerned they should throw the book at them I just feel bad for the kids it's not fair to punish the kids but this man did this it's like he doesn't have a brain at all like a grasshopper
This happened to me flying back from a volunteer veterinary mission from South America over a decade ago. I had borrowed my brother’s hiking/ hunting backpack. I had packed the thing to the brim…and a handful of bullets had rolled under the bottom inner seam of the 60L backpack. It didn’t get caught till flying back into the USA, and I had gone through 4 airports by that point, 2 being American. TSA was adamant I was smuggling something, it was a WHOLE thing but in the end they let me go with a very critical look, kept the bullets, and wanted to know where/who my brother was. All I said was “I don’t know but when I find him I’m gonna kill him.” (Brother/ sister relationship at its finest.) Called him after escaping TSA and he claimed innocence and laughed. Anyways…it happens 🤦🏼♀️😱😅
And I’m not stupid, or an unqualified or uneducated gun owner. Unless I had taken every inch of that entire bag and ran it through my fingers, meticulously feeling every inch of it, there’s no way I’d have found anything. And 4 airport security searches didn’t find anything before the 5th one did. Accidents HAPPEN. That’s why they’re called accidents.
Come on really. I don't by it. I travel quite frequently and always check my luggage before and after my trips. READ THE LAWS ,WHEN YOU GO TO OTHER COUNTRIES. Forgetful ( don't by it)
TSA is an embarrassment. 4 Americans are currently dealing with this in Turks and Caicos alone! imagine all the others they miss!
It’s not illegal to have ammo in your checked bag in the US
Second (Thoughts) Amendment?
Repeal it.
It's a severe punishment for those who try to traffic arms into the country.
This is how serious the Turks and Caicos are about gun violence.
I believe this was an accident and I hope the courts give him leniency.
Smarten up Dude
But people are allowed to illegally enter the US while carrying drugs, guns, ammunition, etc.
ignorance is not a defense
Shouldn't have done that, bro.
The US TSA FAILED to catch this before his flight to Turks 👎
Poor Baby 😢
Does he know that if he was caught by tsa it would be the same sentence only difference is his lawyer will get him off but it’s Turks and Caicos it’s not like that.
Why didn’t US airport security find this when they left Pennsylvania?
US laws should have reciprocal arrangements. If a non-US citizen commits a crime here they should recieve the same punishment as a US citizen faces in their country for the same crime!!! Not hard to figure out!!
In which country is rape legal?

Lol at all the people that refuse to believe this was an accident it happens with knives all day long but its unfathomable that it happened with a box of ammo? The comparisons to Brittany Griner are hilarious also she tried to smiggle a basketball seasons worth of drugs into Russia. 😂 you gotta factor in the intent here.
Ok she only had two pens I guess not too bad. 😂
Dont lie. She had two spent cartridges with trace amounts of CBD (not even THC) in the pocket of a jacket. Her description that she forgot they were there is just as valid as these men’s description that they forgot their ammo in their suitcases

Why not? It’s a beautiful place with friendly people. Ive been twice and had a wonderful time. Just dont be dumb and leave bullets in your luggage. Also maybe check into what kind of OTC meds are allowed. So many comments hating on these people. Imagine if this was you and imagine it was an honest mistake. I'm not a gun owner, and I read the laws of countries before I go, but don't say you've never been in a situation where you had forgotten to pack something or left something in a suitcase pocket you rarely open. Imagine if you travel weekly and use that same bag as a checked bag, where you can carry weapons and ammunition. Imagine you just forgot and it was an honest mistake. How many people have forgotten a water bottle in their bag or food before you get to TSA checkpoint. Imagine if this was you and it truly was an honest mistake.....12 years in prison. Imagine what would go through you mind knowing that it could have been you and it could have been an honest mistake. 12 years in a foreign prison. You'll never see your kids grow up. All for an honest mistake. What lesson is that guy going to learn over 12 years that hasn't learned enough already by going through this process. There were no victims here. There were no damages. 12 years for simply forgetting to remove a box of bullets - without a gun in there mind you. We really should be lucky we live in America honestly because we forgive reasonable and simple mistakes. Just let this moron go. Seriously. It could have been any of us.
Forgetting a water bottle is very different from forgetting ammunition is in your bag. It makes him both a lawbreaker and an irresponsible gun owner. This wasn’t a simple mistake, this was irresponsibility and arrogance to believe he doesn’t need to account for his ammunition. Intent doesn’t erase the fact that he broke the law of a foreign country. They actually amended their gun laws because of an increase in crime and weapons trafficking into the country. He needs to be made an example to any other idiots out there who think they can pull this. Responsible gun owners know where their firearms and ammunition are at all time.
There's nothing "honest" about this so-called "mistake". This is arrogant entitled attitude for americans that is exactly what the law was targeting. As a responsible gun owner, NO, I don't "forget" where my guns and ammo are. Not for a second do I buy this "I forgot" garbage. Even if they did, it just shows they have no business with guns in the first place. Is it any wonder we have the rampant gun violence rate in our country! I can see it on their faces- they think they're getting out of this, probably do a few weeks or maybe a month, then let go. You people need to get it through your heads- what is "harsh/not harsh" to us does not matter, this is another country, and their laws have to be respected.
Here’s an example of the “grace” offered by US Border Patrol at the Canada-US border:
A visitor from France says she was jogging along the beach south of White Rock, B.C., when she crossed the U.S. border without realizing it. So began a two-week nightmare that landed her in a prison jumpsuit.
Cedella Roman, 19, didn't know it at the time, but as she ran southeast along the beach on the evening of May 21, she crossed a municipal boundary - and, shortly after, an international border.
She turned around to head back - and that's when she was apprehended by two U.S. Border Patrol officers.
Roman said she didn't see any signs warning that she was crossing into the U.S. during her jog. She was informed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers that she had entered the country illegally, which they said was captured via security cameras.
"I said to myself, well I may have crossed the border - but they'll probably only give me a fine or they'll tell me to go back to Canada or they'll give me a warning." [Fat chance.]
Roman was held in custody for two weeks before immigration officials on both sides of the border confirmed she was allowed back into Canada. Then she was transferred back into B.C.
"It is the responsibility of an individual travelling in the vicinity of an international border to maintain awareness of their surroundings and their location at all times to ensure they do not illegally cross the border. Additionally, it's important for people travelling near the border to carry identification at all times, so that agents or officers can easily verify their identity."

In the same way, when a US citizen enters another country, it is his/her responsibility to follow the laws of that country. The US applies zero-tolerance. And so do others.
It couldn't be any of us because most of us handle our weapons like responsible adults. All this whiney nonsense is just trying to avoid ACCOUNTABILITY. I know that concept is hard for USA USA but there it is. Stop trying to impose your weak standards on others. The cavalier attitude about the simple mistake as you call it, just shows how irresponsible and dangerous our own country has become. Other nations don't want this in their land.
Yeah, I've made hundreds of trips within the US with firearms and haven't had an issue. But I'm not perfect. I could see a couple of loose 22 rounds in a pocket of a duffle bag or backpack. Like a few nails or screws in a tool bag. They've made it into the wash before.
