10 things we WISH we knew before playing Starfield -> th-cam.com/video/MYh51ISa2eI/w-d-xo.html
BGS? I don’t get it. Are you saying Bethesda game studios or something else? English is a dying skill please help to preserve it.
@@Emerald_Wolf It was a fairly obvious initialism and clearly you did get it. Aside from your own lack of gramtical skills, would you have him flesh out F.B.I, NASA etc if he were to also mention those?
@@Emerald_Wolfbro just discovered acronyms
@@samlaws2688😂😂
@@samlaws2688 Acronyms have a place, and are usually universal. Not just used because you are lazy or some of your audience is brain dead.
Survival mode in this game is going to go so hard
fr, I find you expend ammo so damn quick, so I suspect you will need like 6 different guns with different ammo types to even get by on survival
I want them to add ship refueling too lolol
@@snefu1142you wonna get stuck in space 😂
@@nxhu. Yooo we need distress signals, 50/50 shot of help or a pirate showing up lol
@@snefu1142😂
Thank you so much for highlighting the radiant/generated planet content; I’ve explored three of these locations so far (undisclosed lab, manufacturing facility, abandoned mine) and I cannot believe how rich, detailed, expansive(!) and rewarding they are to traverse - often with great environmental storytelling including computer records, notes/audio logs found on bodies, etc.
Many reviews (notably IGN) have waaaay undersold the depth and nuance of these places. I agree - they’re every bit as good as the intentional, curated content.
25ish hours in, Starfield is easily the most fun, immersive game I’ve played in years. Incredible…
Thanks! Can't wait for a whole new chapter in gaming and all the great videos to come. U guys are great.
They’ve got you hooked lined and sinker sweetheart
You can also just scan the creatures that are flying , because you can't get up close the scanner allows you to scan them even though your not close enough. I believe it's the same with the fish.
Not with fish. You do have to be within like 20 meters which is hard if the water is corrosive. Just learned that today lol
If you're not too fond of the creatures in question, it might be useful to know that you can scan the dead ones too. If you're struggling to reach a a flying creature, you can shoot it down.
If you're don't want to kill the creatures you can sometimes just get them to attack you and that will bring them close enough to scan, although escaping them once they start swooping you can be pretty difficult especially without a jetpack.
This game is amazing. I'm really loving it. And Fudgemuppet videos on it is the perfect combo.
😅
It’s not out yet right?
@casper191985 if you get the deluxe edition you got early access.
@@williamguinn oh really? Too late to get that huh?
@@casper191985 I think you can still get it.
One of your best ways to get started as a pirate is to disable and steal a pirate ship. they often come equipped with the necessary contraband cargoholds that are useful in smuggling. Another thing is they are outfitted for combat quite well. Their main downside is the lack of general storage. I ended up constructing my own starport and offload all my cargo there in between raids. I have a hauler for bringing stuff to sell and a blockade runner so to speak for smuggling my contraband.
I may need to get myself a pirate ship then... I have the Dream Home trait and after finally paying it off, I've been offloading my contraband in my house to avoid the cargo scans. Hope the UC don't come knocking lol
(light spoiler)
~ I know that you can get shielded storage from a certain mission but I've been lazy and focusing on the main missions for now.
@@All_Knowing_Truth I havn't done any main story or faction missions yet. lol but funny enough I had all my contraband on a remote outpost way outside of UC space and one day they turned up in orbit of my planet. Now I was super sketched out because I have a sizable bounty with the UC. They didn't hail me or attack but just to be safe I destroyed the 5 ship fleet they had. hopefully they don't come back.
@@CMDR-Cody😂 my man Paranoid af 😭 sure you ain't using your contraband my man?
IT'S BEEN 3 DAYS BRO
I'm just glad the guns look pretty cool. They finally realized that guns don't look like the top of a cereal box lol
I'm just happy to see y'all enjoying the game. I remember a few years ago one of you said you weren't crazy about the nasapunk vibe, glad to see you're happy.
I wasnt totally sold on the game until about 8 hours in, something just clicked and now i love it.
I started out being a little disappointed in the game, it felt soulless but as i get further in it's actually growing on me a lot and im realizing that initial impression was wrong. As i realize how things work. It took me till level 15 to realize that star systems are leveled. I was so confused as to why sometimes i was fighting level 5's and sometimes lvl 30's lmfao. The missions are really cool too. Don't want to spoil anything but terrormorphs and the story around them is turning out to be really cool.
I had the opposite reaction 😅
This was like day 2 or 3 of playing my opinion has since changed too lol after doing everything and really putting the hours in I did come to find the whole thing very disappointing. That initial hope after playing a bit def. did not last sadly. Hand crafted detail rich worlds are what i loved about BGS games and this game just isnt that. Not the worst game i've ever played but it's my least fav BGS game by far.@@bengill1917
Did you know that there's one mission in Skyrim where the clairvoyance spell is useful. At the beginning of the dark brotherhood quest line in the shack, Astrid tells you to kill one of 3 people, the spell will show you which one is the correct target
Very surprised
A game that's actually as good as it said it would be
Absolutely play it for yourself. I went in with very little expectations but fell in love. It gave me strong nostalgia of the good times playing New Vegas, Skyrim, and Fo4 but more polished, and in space. If you're FudgeMuppet viewer than you probably love build crafting and so far it's so fun. My stealthy diplomat build is so much fun.
Great to have new FudgeMuppet content! Looking forward to the role play builds.
Pro tip: you can steal something and fast travel before the guard runs up to arrest you. I won't say what mission I found this out on haha 😆 have fun everyone
Man.....I can't wait to start playing. Plus I couldn't wait to see what videos you guys would make. Great vid looking forward to seeing all the builds you guys come up with.
I’ve been listening to your videos all day at work. I didn’t really have any intentions playing Starfield right away because of the “so called” gpu limitations of the 1660 Super. Upon reading many reviews I have medium(settings) hopes for my pc. I have been daydreaming all day about it. Started the download as soon as I walked in the door! Glad to be getting new FudgeMuppet content ❤
I cant wait for this...
I'm glad you guys are enjoying the game. I'm definitely looking forward to some of those sweet fudgemuppet builds.
So people complaining there is no mini map just don't now how to use the scanner?
right i personally love it, makes the game much more immersive
Oh, no mini map? That's cool with me, I prefer games that don't want to hold my hand every 5 seconds! I love to explore and figure things out for myself.
@ladyfox6705 that's why hud options should be a thing. I've heard the cities are really massive and dense, I feel they should have a map in the cities at least. Maybe not a mini map, but a map you can pull up. I' have GPS and maps on my phone in 2023, I feel like it should be an option in the future. I do like a clean ui but I also don't like getting lost all the time unless I'm out exploring
@@ladyfox6705mark lol
@@sparkyspinz9897thank you for the common sense. Everyone’s buying the hype and saying “explore” and “immersive “ way too fucking much
I like this game .You kept this game positive. It’s all about your preference. Somethings could be better but is pretty good and that’s what I do , mix it up with the Contant . I got 36hr in so far.
Nice!
Looking forward to seeing more of these...and the buils videos as well.
Bruh Hammerfall looks maaad different than I expected
I was gonna wait for a while before buying this but the love from everyone who already has it is making me reconsider.
🌚 shid it got me in a chokehold rn
Yours is the only video I’ve watched running up til Wednesday. I felt safe checking out some ‘before’ tips. Thanks
My favorite Bethesda TH-camr! Finally got the game and looking forward to watching all your videos.
"You should still get the sleep that counts. In game sleep." Oh God that was gold. I was so sure that was a segue into one of those precooked meal ads then you just dropped that bomb and I could stop laughing 😂😂
@FudgeMuppet it's a surreal thing following yall back in the early skyrim content days at sub 100k now over a mil later and with a new Era for the channel
this game is so much better than I thought at first. the tutorial and early game give the completely wrong impression.
Maybe because I went in only expecting a BGS game, basically Fo4 in space, I was blown away but how much there was in the first 5 hours. Not disappointed at all. After another 10 or so hours there's a few things I'd like changed or added, like buggies/rovers, and ability to get out of your space ship and mine asteroids in zero-G, but aside from that, this is probably my GOTY.
i dont know why they dont have mechs, cause i found a mech scrap yard where a guy said it was used in previous wars. Id love to have mechs in the game
@@TraktorTarzan I found one as well. Mechs would be cool, ability to upgrade the robot companion similar to Mechanist?
I'd just love a little rover that maybe is connected to your ship somewhere and when you land it disengages and allows for quick movement and extra storage of materials.
@@TraktorTarzanI'm thinking they will be in an expansion. They're talked about a lot, they're in the Vanguard museum, and they were in the pre release advertising. They will add something in an expansion, I'm sure of it.
@@doctormoobbcThis game is built to have DLC and mods added for a decade, no Joke.
yea the lack of any kind vehicle on surface or even just being able to fly your ship around on surface of planets is only thing i found disappointing so far and was hoping it was only because I am playing early game but from what i see in comments it appears they don't have it. Here is to hoping it'll be added later in a DLC or update or moders will figure it out. My guess is that their engine just doesn't handle vehicles well so they didn't put it in, none of previous games had rideable vehicles and making a good looking vehicle system that can be immersive and handle rough terrain can be tricky, no man's sky did an ok job with it but again completely different engine. At the very least I would love to have like a hover vehicle of some sort, so it will handle terrain well and hopefully be easier to program then ground vehicles like motorcycle/jeep etc. Something like hover vehicles in Empyrion
This is the first time I've heard someone call them "BGS games."
Bro, I used to watch your build videos for FO4. It's so good to be back
This game has no business being this fun lol huuuuge game with so much to offer, many maaaany different things to do and experience. Def 10/10 for me ❤
“-You should still remember to get the sleep that counts - in-game sleep.”
Fucking sigma, bro
Thanks!!! Really great tips!
You are one of the Skyrim 🐐s it makes me so happy you like it! I was not even thinking about it cause I only had ps5 but bought a gaming laptop for Baldurs Gate 3 and spent the money for Starfield early access thru gamepass and am so pumped loving it
Really looking forward to your space pirate build guide!!!
You are obviously a true Role Playing fan!! Some of the dumb ass complaints about this game are annoying. I am taking my time and having a blast. Can't wait for my next play thru. NINJA ASSASSIN!!!! ✌️
From what I can tell the only two nitpicks I have (though I haven't actually played yet) is some uncanny npcs and no map to help navigate those beautiful major cities. And I guess stiff animations for characters if I really had to make up a 3rd.
2 more days until steam. I'm excited. After hundreds of hours in baldurs gate 3, I'm ready for some Bethesda buggy greatness
I don’t usually watch videos like this, but in RPGs (Bathesda or otherwise) I’m notorious for starting over a bunch of times, and it’s my goal to get through one whole play through in one go on this game.
100% with you on restarting over and over
😂😂. Same here. There are games I’ve put over a hundred hours into but never beat them because I always see an idea for a new character to role play and start over 😅.
They should include a bonus when you scan everything without killing anything, 50% as much XP as if you had killed everything, called UNDISTURBED
I think fucking around before you hit the main story makes sense for someone who already has a background. It makes sense to already have capability
you gotta keep playing then it will pick up and start to really get good and i love the chameleon spacesuits
Good video thank you
Twice I've needed that scanner to show me the way when I was lost, both times I was in a cave and the thing was a maze with small camouflage tunnels, second time I didn't realise I fell through hole in cave floor into a far larger area
Perfect timing
Waiting for these builds!
"abundance of handcrafted content" .... Riiiight... Is the handcrafted content with us in the room right now?
Excited to learn the games lore
Fudge muppet are going to milk Starfield for content and I am here for it.
Question, is there really no way to upgrade the old or favorite gear you have found? It would suck that something just becomes obsolete because you are progressing in the game and get to a higher level.
this
Space suit and weapons upgrades exist (there are workbenches in the basement of the Lodge) but advanced ones require research and tier 2 science skills in weapons or suits. Those are worth it though, I’m running a handguns only character so getting a recon scope really helps with long range stealth work.
@@redaethel4619 The downside is you have to invest your skill points in crafting, and unless you hard specialize in weapons and crafting you cant do anything. I wish there was a way to pay to modify, especially early on.
@@ChiefCrewinCheck the weapons stores in game, a lot of them have weapons that come with mods already on them, and their inventory resets every 2 days so you can check back and they might have what you’re looking for.
Thank you
You can also just steal ships at landing sites across the galaxy. I had a random ship land near me on a planet where I had an outpost. The crew needed repairs, but after I helped them I wanted to see if I could take their ship. Broke in, took off, and flew it back to New Atlantis. Not much money from selling it, but I didn't get a bounty. I didn't even have to kill anyone. Not sure if the people I stranded will be hostile if I go back to where I left them though.
The crafter was always my favorite class in _Skyrim,_ and one of Drew and Michael's videos inspired me to create it... I wonder what _Starfield's_ equivalent of it is/will be?
10 - Stick with it, It gets better I promise. First 5 hours I was so disappointed with everything to do with the game, and while a lot of those reasons still stick in my mind, they aren't nearly as bad as I thought they'd be. I'm having alot of fun with the game now, and while its far from GOTY, I still recommend it to those who enjoy BGS games... Because this is very much a BGS game. Not a second goes by where the music/atmosphere/gameplay reminds me of FO4, but with the added benefit of actual RPG elements
First few hours are just overwhelming as there’s so much going on you don’t understand even if you’ve done prior games. Not all the mechanics are explained… but once you grasp them, it’s a lot of fun.
you dont need to take captured ships back to a planet to register them and make them your home ship, you can do it all via the ship men u.
A good way to avoid getting caught with contraband, land outside of a main city and just hoof it there, then sell your contraband to the Trade Authority.
It feels like everybody's just shoving out starfield content. The game doesn't even come out to the 6th. Don't get me wrong I'm excited for the game, I just want to make sure that the content will be there for a while. Like you don't have to eat the whole cake you can take a slice at a time.
I really want to play this game but I preordered the basic version because I potentially didn't want to stumble onto DLC content when I wasn't ready to and I'm just internally screaming all day because I want to play. I've waited this far but sometimes it feels like getting a gift from someone that you KNOW what's in the package but they keep teasing it in front of you without giving it to you and being like "you gotta wait until this date" but you. Just. Want. The. Gift. I have wednesday off so I fully expect to be playing this as much as possible that day.
Never ever pre-order.
The scanner always shows you have to get to the objective. You just need to look at the objective marker again. It disappears after a few seconds.
Number one thing I need to know is "how do I make a Stealth Archer".
Slowly 😂
The sneak damage boosts aren’t available early
So many games to play. This looks promising though 😁
"It's okay to sell your magazines" you have defeated my magazine hoarding anxiety thank you 😭
I know some dislike that you don’t have a land vehicle but honestly once you really upgrade your jet pack it’s so much more fun and immersive imo. The DLC(s) for this game I can’t even fathom what’s to come having a lot of fun
Hey team keep it up and thank you for all you do, I’m kinda stuck at the moment, I’ve got a quest for Sarah I’m well under levelled, I got destroyed, my cargo on frontier is full (I suck at ship building and get so confused) credits are ok but not enough to do much, the story I can’t travel with Sam coe to Akins city I think it’s due to my ship so the story has stopped for me, it’s a great game I’m enjoying it, but so overwhelmed and kinda stuck now it’s frustrating, just doing vanguard stuff and other quests which I can do, outpost building too got no idea or enough resources. Inventory is weak and it’s kinda a slow burn at the moment, it’s good looking, companions are incredible, writing is so good but overwhelming, wish there was a better way to traverse a planet rather than walking, wish things were explained a bit better and I hope Bethesda will refine and improve things in Starfield. I am loving it though just stuck at the moment and I do want to learn. Keep the guides coming team you are always the best.
What level are you ? Do some main quests in the beginning and get a better ship. Sarah also give minus 50 % fuel costs. You can jump to further planets. Get the Mantis ship or do the free space rangers questline.
#10 requires an SSD to play properly/stable performance
I've tried playing the game on a HDD but keep getting gameplay and audio stuttering issues only to realize that an SSD is one of the games requirements lol
Biggest issue for me is I don't know what to loot and what to leave. I have feeling that I'm missing something important. But there is so many items to pick.
Loot it all, sell it all
@@Zurrke but I guess my inventory will not be able to handle. In Fallout 4, I was only looting trash, that I needed for crafting.
LOVING THE STARFIELD VID BOYS WOO HOO
My god! It's the grand astronaut!
Day 1 of patiently waiting for that top tier FM melee build
One of the best games I’ve ever played. Bethesda is back! I have no issue with the exploration or the fact it’s more hub based than fully open!
I want this game, even though I'm still heavily exploring all of Fallout 4
@01:24 looked amazing how the guy fell down the hatch
Wow I did not even think about fish being the last thing I need to scan
Im so happy they have multi biome planets. It's such a cliche for sci-fi to have mono-biomed planets like in no mans sky, so this feels much more immersive in this game. Also, feel like there should be some consequence for killing mass amounts of random alien animals.
I was somewhat skeptical and expected another fallout 4, but it’s not and they went back to their roots with the RPG aspects, and the gunplay is phenomenal. I’m loving this so much!
again another amazing SF video Thank you. But please tell me where to find the Va Ruun Painkiller melee sword/knife
Love all the Skyrim comparisons!!
Wow.. what an imaginative video...
This game looks soooooo freaking good! Jeez!
It’s unbelievable. Seriouslh
03:00 im epileptic and i generally feel i might trigger a seizure with how late im staying up because of how addictive this game is lmao
This game is so fun
Great video guys
I expect a let’s play on my desk by Friday
It sounds like no man's sky upgraded edition.
I haven't played starfield but I've played no man's sky and at first it was fun but procedural generation eventually gets boring really fast.
Hopefully the hand crafted things are as much as previous games and this part is more an addition instead of a replacement 🤞
I am enjoying the handcrafted elements, but everything else is really dissapointing to me sorry to say. Part of me feels like I'd rather go back to Skyrim or Fallout 4 or other TES or Fallout games then playing Starfield.
I got the same mining station down to every dead body and item location on two different moons. You will not like this game.
Except Starfield is an rpg with actual things to do. NMS is perhaps top 5 most boring games I’ve ever played. Really wish people would stop comparing it to anything that involves space and procedural generation.
@@emptyjumplow I enjoyed no mans sky for a while .
Like I said I haven't played starfield yet but I'm hoping it has handcrafted content comparable to a Skyrim or fallout 4 and not replaced with procedural generation. It should be an addition not a replacement basically.
Because procedural generation can be fun the first few times then it gets really boring really fast.
Wish we had some land vehicle to put on the ship
This is what I hoped for Elite Dangerous. It's sad E.D is pretty much dead now. But it's always amazing picking any direction into the Black and just exploring planets
I love it but the lack of any maps at all is really dumb. They have to add maps for cities.
If you steal a ship. Could you take it back to your base and use it as parts for another ship?
Could u please ease make a build video on your passionfruit ship I absolutely love it and desperately want to make it
Which gun is he using at the beginning? And where can I find it?
i'm waiting until the 6th to start playing it, but i can't wait plus i need to upgrade my graphics card
You should start your starfield episodes with "And now we're back, from outer space."
If you hijack a ship, can you just take the parts for another ship once you register it?
The planets are all empty lol
Gonna play this game when it releases on gamepass
Anyone who completed all the factions already, I have a question how would you rank them?
@@Tuningforks85 i have about the same now and I've only done Ryujin i keep getting distracted too lmao, Ryujin was good tho
Scanning = Surverying? I think Scanning is from your ship, and surveying is what you do with your hand-held device. I haven't started my game yet so I am unsure of the in-game nomenclature.
If you're Michael, then who's this FudgeMuppet you're welcoming us to?
Think I might have to roll the 70$ die and hope I love this game.
