You guys need to remake all your most successful wheels then team up with the slo mo guys and do a collab video and get some accurate rpm's on these things!
In the 1930s, a German industrialist persuaded the local government that if a flywheel was spun up, then a brake was applied, more energy could be extracted then went in. They agreed to fund an experiment. A pit was dug for the flywheel, it was spun up and the brake applied. The flywheel said "fck this" climbed out of the pit, crashed through the wall, travelled 2km, killing a cow and embedded itself in a house.
Betterhelp - "Just ignore the multiple class action lawsuits and sign up today" Also, good news: cybertruck plating reduced to 1.8mm at the thickest panels so your jeel will go through cybertruck no prob. 👍
cant you guys get a tachometer taped to the edge and constantly read the rpm?would be really interesting to see how fast your head will be gone without protection
What if you cut the carbon fiber into strips, coated them in resin, then wound them around a core? The tensile strength of the fibers going around the circumference should help it withstand the centrifugal forces better. You could do two, one with the fibers going along the length of the strips and one with the strips cut diagonal to the fibers.
did anyone notice the sparks on the red wheel when the denim wheel was spinning? its like it was building statice electricity or something and had a lot of great sparks jump around the outside edge of the red wheel!
@@bentleyrowland1 is it? they show the wheel before and i cant see anything in it, and the light is on the exterior of the wheel and is very bright and a clear white for a lightup wheel.
I think it would be a good idea to make a strong shield for the nozzle, to prevent that probably pretty expensive nozzle from breaking... just a thought
Better help records, and then sells the info from your conversations with their therapists to 3rd party advertisers. I am pretty sure they have lost at least 3 lawsuits over this issue in the past several years or so. I reccomend not advertising with them due to this.
Another idea you could try, when making the denim wheel, use a slow drying resin and when all the layers are stacked up, clamp it down real tight with a hydraulic press until set in place. Would it offer a better bond? Or would it squeeze out so much resin that there wouldn't be enough to hold so tight? Maybe try the same with carbon fibre?

Make yourselves a heavier blast shield that even covers the ends with only a camera port and a port for an RPM sensor. In the explosives world, "the tighter you contain an explosion, the larger will be the yield." (Which you are doing by better and better wheels and ever faster RPM's)
You guys need to have the jet further away from the weels. And you have to program it so the arm moves the jet further away from the weels in the same speed as the wheels expand. 😁
11:50 Does anyone else think that maybe that little drop of water hitting the wheel could have caused it to break? Like it slightly upset the balance of it and at that speed it was enough to break it? Something like that?
I see the thumbnail and title change. It was originally featuring the carbon fiber wheel and asks something like: can we get a carbon fiber wheel to have the fastest revolutions?
I wonder if it would improve the strength of the resin if you put it in a vacuum chamber to pull any air bubbles out. Please bring in the Slowmo Guys with their high speed cameras, you'll be able to learn so much more about the failure points :)
I think you might get a little more time before destruction if you wrap the wheel with a couple layers of kevlar, which has much higher abrasion resistance than carbon fiber.
Unfortunately, that was an epoxy wheel reinforced with denim. You Would need to use a press, plus a vacuum chamber, and a lot less epoxy if you want to make a denim wheel.
Most high-paying TH-cam sponsors are questionable. It hurts my soul every time I see Battleship NJ advertise art or noble titles or mobile phone games, but at least the sponsor money is going to a good place.
It's not horrible and it's not hurting people, they have some therapists on there who's credentials are 100%. But still a lot of times people who need someone to talk to don't need a perfect person. They just need someone and that's what better help is doing.
They are objectively terrible. I’m pretty sure they’re still in a lawsuit right now for selling user data to advertisers, which is always illegal, but far worse when it’s a service legally required to be as secretive with patient information as possible. They also got in hot water for having little quality control with who was allowed to work as a therapist on the site, with some qualified people and some wholly unqualified people hoping to make a quick buck.
nice heat shield coat, the less you know, 3d woven carbon fiber with non-cut fibers. yep sewing machine around and around the wheel. making new layers.
You should def get The Slow-Mo Guys involved! Maybe 6they'll lend you the "really capable" camera. The last clip *they* did was two shape charges (explosives) going off, facing each other. What was the speed, like 800.000 FPS? Maybe that'll show a bit more detail with your "reinforced" resin wheels!
If an object was spinning with an angular velocity of roughly ludicrous speed, the spacetime distortion around the object would be extreme enough to allow reverse time travel. I hope someday we can build a time machine with just a wheel and a waterjet.
How about passive magnetic bearings? Air bearings won't work, because your axial load is too high... but I'm certain magnetic bearings would see a significant improvement.
Dude you guys need a barrier, you are so lucky that Jean wheel did not hit you! Please put something up fellas, I don't want to see an "update" video on one of ya'll

They've tried that in the past, couldn't get an accurate reading iirc

When the resin has hardened post cure it at 60degrees C for 10-12 hours it will be harder and should be less brittle.
