I remember being at work at the time of the 2011 Hungarian gp that button won, I avoided all media all day to avoid spoilers and then 10 mins before going home I heard a sports report through a wall from the neighbouring warehouse 😫
At least nowadays in F1 it isn’t much of spoiler even you hear the results because the winner always the same due to great reliability in F1 and no rule changes since 2014. The days are gone when a spoiler really would make you angry.
I know Stroll was at fault there, but that was a much more reasonable move than what most people say. Towards the end when Gasly was trying to overtake (perez i think?) Perez agressively cut in front of him. Stroll was probably anticipating a same move, but conpletely overshot the corner.
I understand Stroll should have let more space but he is in front of Norris. Why give Stroll 5 seconds, I mean, Albon-Hamilton in Brazil is kind of the same but the guy inside-behind (Ham) was the one penalised. Same with Verstappen-Ocon in Brazil 2018, the one inside-behind was penalised, same with Ham-Albon again in Austria (the one inside a bit backward, Ham, penalised). Today they judge completely differently! I mean, for the penalties to Ham and Ocon, they could also have judged Albon and Verstappen should have let more space and be the ones penalised then...

Wow. This track is amazing. Has a lot of room which helps keeping cars out of the walls and safe. Love the ups and downs and wide track. So many wheel to wheel moments. It just needs one more DRS zone and more even cars. What a showcase for F1. Please keep this track in the calendar!

I agree with Fabio. I'm not a big fan of the DRS but with tracks like Portimao where it seems the turns dictates the race pace amd your position, having two DRS zones might not be bad.
There's a very safe place to overtake, so it's not worth risking overtaking somewhere else, and this makes it actually quite boring, you're going to see 95% of the overtakes at exactly the same spot for all cars and all laps.

So far, then... you crashed into that pink car at FP2, Gasly got massively impeded by another pink car, Albon got slower and then Verstappen came to blows with the same pink Mercedes.
I feel bad for Sainz. 😞 Earlier in the race, he was leading ahead of the Mercs before getting overtaken. And now, he is lapped by Lewis. This is how the tables turn in F1. But great result by finishing P6. 👏
The soft tires were a double edged sword today. They were able to heat up before the mediums, allowing sainz and Norris to push up & steal the lead before the mercs were able to heat theirs up. But they also fell off pretty quickly and the Mclarens were sitting ducks for the cars with medium tyres later in the race.
Oh yes. It was so much fun to watch Kimi in this race. I wish F1 would release onboard video of full race after each race. Like from 3 random drivers would be awesome.

it really reminded me of an F2 start. Even without rain they're very chaotic because of lower downforce and drivers struggling to get heat into the tyres. The restarts in Barcelona for example, glorious stuff
I disagree.... this is just a wannabe track and the racing in Catalunya is better, it's a nicer track, more intersting corners and the overtaking is too easy here.

At least nowadays in F1 it isn’t much of spoiler even you hear the results because the winner always the same due to great reliability in F1 and no rule changes since 2014. The days are gone when a spoiler really would make you angry.

Norris: im moving up and down side to side like a roller coas...
Stroll: no this time no
I know Stroll was at fault there, but that was a much more reasonable move than what most people say. Towards the end when Gasly was trying to overtake (perez i think?) Perez agressively cut in front of him. Stroll was probably anticipating a same move, but conpletely overshot the corner.
Stroll did same mistake he did with max?
@@mrjdmtunerboy.1463 No... In free practice that was entirely Max's fault. This race though this was Stroll's fault sadly
I imagine Stroll saying something like a anime villian.

@@darockk If we had a second Drs zone in the second straight, the car overtaked would have a chance to re-overtake. It would also provide more wheel to wheel battles from turn 1 to turn 8, for instance. At the end, the race would be even more exciting!!!
Yes, what Fábio wrote.
