    Just bought a 2021 Challenger and after two months of having it I've noticed that when I hit the break at low speeds like coming to a stop, it makes a creaking sound. Not happening when turning or anything else, just breaking at low speed. Looked it up and everything I found was rather a warped rotor or bad pads. Brought me here. Thanks for the walkthrough. Hopefully this will stop the creaking.

    2016 Challenger. I just went through this with the front bracket bolts yesterday and today. I soaked them and was about to use heat. Enormous amount of torque the whole length of the bolt. Yellow thread locker was on it also. The bolt actually protrudes out of the bracket behind the rotor about a quarter inch exposed to the elements. I am not sure if it was a rusted bolt tip, or the thread locker. There was a good amount of almost clear substance in the bracket threads. After a good clean up of the threads, they went in all the way by hand. SOB of a job!

      Yes personal preference. It could help keep things a little looser over time long term, but I never do it and never have a problem (these are our vehicles that I work on, daily drivers). And to be honest, a lot of people overdo it and get the crap on the rotors and pads which is bad- they forget about the wind while driving down the road that blows it all over the place. So if you do grease anything, it should be a very small thin film for this reason...

    Just another curious question bc i know it's bad to have air in break lines. I thought it wasn't safe to open the cap on the break fluid resivour? Or is pressing the break pedal down push out any air in the lines? Or dose opening that cap not get put air in the lines?

    • @BuckeyeBallistics
      @BuckeyeBallistics  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You hold it with a box end wrench while tightening the bolt into it- that is the only reason to hold it still. After it is tight, yes it is normal for it to be able to freespin.

      Not sure what you mean by that, I would have to hear it. And only when you hit the brakes or? I'm also unclear as to whether or not you have slotted rotors like in this video.
