the "There are no solutions. There are only trade-offs." quote which Tim referenced is from Thomas Sowell. Austin is soooo hot! It's nothing like California. The mosquitoes are NON-STOP and the size of hummingbirds. The ground is hard pack. Don't plan on gardening. I broke a f**ing pic axe trying to plant a bush in my front yard. Don't get me wrong, downtown Austin is awesome. Town Lake is amazing. BUT nothing like California. You think property taxes are bad in California, welcome to Texas. You will be floored.
I am not your target audience, but I am a avid YT fan and consume 2-5 hours of YT content daily (walking the dogs for 2 hours), so a podcast would work, but it's a lot of effort to find and download for me. For TH-cam, it sounds like you have to go to the platform, but you are not happy with that choice. So maybe that is why you are waiting and since you are not getting value from your TH-cam experiments. 0 conversion from clips makes sense, if I am used to consuming this content, why would I go download a podcast without seeing hundreds of clips demonstrating the value of the podcast. If I only get paid 60 bucks an hour, I need to get 240 dollars of value out of the 4-hour podcast. I think you easily have that value, but it could be extracted in 15 minutes or at least a clipped 45 minute version for the YT platform. Now if you have 100-200 shorts demonstrating value of the podcast, with enough reps you may get conversion. I listed to this interview for Noah, and I cleaned the house while listening. Like the event you ran, Brag, Give, Ask. Sounds like you are just asking for conversions. I will think about how your team can focus more on giving from these podcasts.
Way too difficult to get to newsletter from the notes. Also too difficult to find links to gifts kagan gave tim. Lastly, many people who are watching TH-cam are watching BECAUSE they don’t want to read. Why would you necessarily expect conversions to the newsletter from a podcast or TH-cam. But if you do, make it easier.
@Tim Ferriss, RE: TH-cam vs Blog - Bc you’re leaning towards the blog, why not film the podcast, cut it up into chapters but embed them into a blog where you can delve into topics discussed with more ideas that you didn’t have a chance to talk about with the guest? Just an idea. Combining the best of both worlds.
After listening to the entire podcast, I think I heard the word "Youtub" 500 times from Tim. Not knowing you, it sounds like you are scared. Smart people tend to overthink and not act. The safety issue is important, but make sure it's not an excuse. At 3:43:19 - Tim appears to get real uncomfortable in his body language when Noah asked him how much money he puts into his TH-cam video productions. You can watch without the sound and just see the body language changing. I am sure I am reading into it, but I felt a change in posture. I have some other ideas too...
Wow, this pod was super insightful and I'm hoping to takeaway some of management tools, strategies, tactics that Tim and Noah discussed. Noah goes into detail at 42:22 "tracking metrics that matter." I'm an accountant for a tech company want to implement some of these measures. Question: does Noah discuss these metrics in "How to Launch a Million Dollar Business"? Thanks.
10:40 so you own an 80 mil business in Spain and don't want to buy a property for 500,000 to get the residency but rather waiting 18 months and maybe more and dealing with lawyers? i don't buy it. lots of internet Guru's" exaggerate on their numbers.
“There are no solutions, only trade-offs.” Is a famous aphorism by the brilliant economist, Thomas Sowell. Glad to hear a little bit of TX can still be found in Austin. ;)
Just finished Noah’s book. It’s excellent! Was already a fan but caught him on Ali’s show and found him so refreshing. And this interview was FAR BEYOND my expectations. @1:10:00 - smart marketing by Tim Ferriss
@2:00:00 - How multi-million dollar businesses did fast testing
Thanks.
Tweaking things, pulling levers, keeping the trains running on time, escape velocity, in the weeds ... Business Jargon galore!
An interview with Mr Beast would be amazing!
10:40 so you own an 80 mil business in Spain and don't want to buy a property for 500,000 to get the residency but rather waiting 18 months and maybe more and dealing with lawyers? i don't buy it. lots of internet Guru's" exaggerate on their numbers.
@3:331:58 I met Donald Miller in person for Blue Like Jazz signing before. He's super awesome! He has a cool program for businesses.
title should be how to create 1M$ only by watching this 4h podcast :)
"How do you get going fucking right now" - great quote
“There are no solutions, only trade-offs.” Is a famous aphorism by the brilliant economist, Thomas Sowell. Glad to hear a little bit of TX can still be found in Austin. ;)
Just finished Noah’s book. It’s excellent! Was already a fan but caught him on Ali’s show and found him so refreshing. And this interview was FAR BEYOND my expectations. Two friends conversing…was a bit voyeuristic in the best way. Loved it!! Thank you! Ali Abdaal should be on, I bet he’d have an interesting perspective on Tim’s channel, respecting his need for privacy and integrity while still growing.
Complaining about the austin heat, lol Dang Tim getting soft. lol Awesome pod. Look into digital residency!!!
In the first 30 min Barcelona has been ruined and I've discovered why I've got so many idiots randomly asking me for discounts
The best episode on the podcast!!! A true conversation, so good feels illegal to hear it!
2 minutes turkish.. you said 2 minutes 5 minutes ago
“No solutions, only trade offs.” That’s a Thomas Sowell quote 2:16:01
1k USD in Barcelona? I live in Barcelona and I can tell you that TODAY, you cannot get a lot with 1k USD
I listened to the first few chapters in the audio book version of his new book… it’s mostly talking about topics later in the book lol why not just get to the meat of the book?
very good episode (definitely one for the best of list). It's difficult to understand Noah at times because he talks so fast.
Coming back to report in that the fingernail clipper recco around 3:25:51 was stellar, your passion in the recommendation was an immediate buy for me haha
I cannot stand Tim’s interviews. Too long winded and self absorbed. Ask for my feedback
